1 million twitter followers. oh they were boasting. >> they decided to send out thousands of tweets that include add digital custom jersey of some of their followers. but one of those images showed a patriots jersey with a racist handle on the back. it actually said i hate the n word. now it was deleted. "we apologize for the regrettable tweet that went out from our account. our filtering system failed and we will be more vigilant in the future ". >> they're filtering system, somebody got fired, i'll bet. apology or not you got to admit the new england patriots are our fail of the week! >> a big fail. >> by the way if you're wondering how the eagles stand, you know, the patriots have a million followers on twitter. the eagles currently are getting close to 600,000. 575,000 followers on twitter. >> that's it? we got to follow the eagles. come on. >> phillies actually have the most followers for a sports franchise here in philadelphia.

they currently have over 880,000 followers. that's good. all right. well, trending is not just lim limited to twitter youtube and facebook. a pod cast is actually one of the most talked about thing on the internet right now. have you heard of this kind of serious pod cast called serial. >> i have. more than 5 million listeners have streamed each episode since they started hitting the internet weekly last month. serial is not a drama it's actually a true story of the 1999 murder in baltimore and the questions that still surround the case. chris murphy is here now with more on this story. explain a little more in detail, chris. >> this is quite the buzz on the internet. it's about a cold case guys. it's no longer case thanks to pod cast. convicted of the murder of his ex girlfriend when she was 17. well, he's been in a maximum security prison ever since 1999. fayed has maintained his innocence there he is right there.
