recovered from your thanksgiving feast on this saturday morning. thanks so much for joining us, it's november 29, the sat after thanksgiving. i'm still feeling full and fat. roll us around after all the leftover. i'm karen hepp. we have so much to get to this morning, especially the man missing after a wednesday night out in manayunk. it's small business saturday. and free parking saturday in the city starts today. but first we begin with a check of your weather because you want to know what it's going to be like as you head out the door. as we take a life look at our skylights. dominica davis in this morning. we begin with a question for you. here it is. this is my sister ebony, her birthday is on saturday, she wants to know what the weather will be like. >> hi. happy birthday, sweetheart. look at this. we just happened to be starting with the weather in bethlehem
8:02 am
and it is going to be cloudy and cold today. a little about it of flurry action happening this morning and we could see that again this afternoon. so 27, 9:00 and then 34 for the daytime high. that's a december-like feel. it's not just for beetle them, fob everybody. 13 in point poke no. it's in the single digits. philadelphia at 29 and even wildwood, atlantic city coming in on thes to. so it is a cold one out there. it is going to continue to be cold for definitely we do have a few flurries, though, that are starting to pop up through the harrisburg area. out there that's where we're looking at the flurries mainly to the west. can't rule out seeing the flurry pass us by i would say before noon everybody has a chance of that. other than that we're just looking at the clouds that will be around for today. the skies clear out tomorrow and
8:03 am
we will get in on some mild weather. today the high will be 41 degrees and then tonight we're going to fall into the upper 30s. so not as cold and that will be a sign of changing weather and mild air that comes in by sunday. sunday, 53 and on monday we are looking at 57-degrees. sounds good. thank you dominica. we do have some breaking news coming in right now from cumberland county. there is a car dealership that is caught on fire. it happened overnight. and it is happening on the nissan dealership in the 1700 block of delsea drive. this is a picture of a missing student from west chester university. we're going to get back to that story in just a minute because a lot of people having working searching for him. we have a saw prea talking with some of the firefighters right now at the scene and we'll be checking back in with her in just a matter of moments.
8:04 am
an egyptian court dismisses murder charges against former president that baric. he spearheaded the up rising nearly six years ago. he was also acquitted on corruption charges. one opinions hurt after an accident involving a recycling truck overnight. this happened at walnut street and south 30th street in university city. police are still trying to figure out what caused that accident. and this morning's cover story, the grand jury's decision on the information shooting is still fresh on the mind of so much people. people sounding on instagram, twitter. some of those comments are scrolling on the bottom of your screen. how do communities move on? joining us p now by skype, scott professor at the university of pennsylvania and also a form erode detective, steve of nutley, new jersey. good morning, gentlemen. >> good morning. > this is so tough. i'm going to start off with you,
8:05 am
chad, it's certainly hard to watch this. how do we move on. >> i'm not sure it's time to move onto a sense of normalcy, but i think one of my messages to ferguson would be that the system did not fail the people of ferguson in the mike brown case and the reason i say that, deboys said a system could not tell those that was never built to protect. the anger has to move to action and one of the ways that the community is trying to speak back to that is with the mike brown law of having police officers having cameras on their bodies. a lot of people are talking about that one. that's very interesting. as a former police officer, steve, how do you view what's been transpiring and a lot of the accusations and frankly, a lot of the anger? there there's a few issues that have to be addressed. first of all, justice was served. our system worked. there was a grand jury that made the decision. but i tell you, based on the
8:06 am
interviews that i've seen and based on some of the visual i've seen on television, the enemy is not the police. the enemy is not the people, but i believe that part of the big problem is politicians. they're the ones sticking their nose in this, making very inflammatory remarks, adding full to the fire. so what we need to do is to ask those politicians, get out of the way, let the people in the community -- i'm talking about the residents of that community, the business people and the clergy to come together with the police and to solve the problems there. they can be solved. all these people on the outside, these state senators, these congress men making inflammatory remarks, they've got to get out of of the picture. >> i think the police department is the problem and this is the prosecutor, in fact, whose father's was killed by a blackmail and i would recite the remarks of an icon that was an i
8:07 am
correspondent matter that was put together with with regards to t darren wilson. i wish that mike brown -- we know that a struggle ensued. i wish mike brown had a chance to come in onto court. he should be living. chad, sounds like blackmails and americans demsy are being killed with impunity. >> chad, it sounds like the individuals, you want to manufacture outcome. where is the u in crime. kids are being killed in chicago, new york. > let me ask you both your take on this because is one of the things that came out to me from the grand injure that got my attention. a street officer was able to wash his own words, but not video record during the questioning but then was able to mark his own gun, the weapon involved into evidence. this is not standard practice at
8:08 am
many other police departments. i'm going to start with you, handling all of the evidence because it leaves so much room open for people to be critical and say you could have done something. >> i'll agree with you there. i don't know the procedures down in that state. i do know this. there was a grand jury inquiry. they took months. they took witnesses who were on the scene and witnessed this that refuted a lot of what was said. the system worked. now, look, we may not like what the outcome -- i didn't like the outcome of oj simpson, but certainly there weren't buildings burned down and people being threatened. i'm quoting the language to be unword and that's from martin luther king. i'm worried about person hood, no individual should be burning down property and when you evoke that black violence happens in
8:09 am
black history. they are concerned with the violence that happens in our community, it's just that the media doesn't hear what is taking place in our barbers, our silver lines. no one is going to try to placate american society to sigh that we're not upset about blackmails killing black mails. >> i believe you. i got to tell you something, what we're hearing is we're not hearing leaders. leaders in the black community rising up and articulating what should be articulated. > let me get to some of the comments because we talked from some of the comments from what people are saying. we do have a comment from charles writing in. police are hurt, ain't no healing yet. sortry, not sorry. this one, very powerful howard tweet, the truth darren wilson safed a lot of plaque lives when he had to kill michael brown. now they all know the laws and
8:10 am
how to act. a look the of inflammatory things being put out. andy certainly writes, want to know how to change things like ferguson, have to stop being pawns in the chest game that we call america. so many powerful different opinions on this one and sometimes in the middle of a controversy we can't always pick the leaders who are going to come forward in a crisis. chad, agree with that. >> i do, but i like what steve said to the point that we need to have police and we need to have community working on trying to get beyond the historical facts of trust verse mistrust. we also need to be looking at this from a mental health standpoint. as missouri primed itself for a pare i military state of emergency. i would like to see psychiatrists and psychologists dealing with the posttraumatic stress disorder dealing with that particular community. > when we handle a volatile situation people were acted as
8:11 am
they expected to account a. sometimes you set up oh there's going to be a problem and then there was. was a situation where there was a self fulfilling prophesies that there could be mayhem and then there was. i believe the people of ferguson, the people who live there, based on their interviews, i think they conducted themselves well. they wanted peaceful demonstrations and there should be demonstrations when people are not happy, but it was provocators, it was the outsides and i get to back to the same thing i said before, these politicians, these people from outside of ferguson adding full to the fire. i'm listening to chad and they ought to call a guy like him to go down there because what he's saying makes a lot of sense and he's saying it in a temper that doesn't add fuel to the fire. that's what we need to hear. > chad, final word after that nice compliment. >> i would just simply say that
8:12 am
i think we have a lot to do, anti racism, the communities of color need to also recognize that it's not all police officers. certainly police officers have a hard job trying to man the community, but they can't do it with excessive force. too many black lives are dying on the other side the could also or line and certainly we have to do a better job of fostering a black community that dr. martin kink discussed and thank you for the opportunity for steve and i to do this little part by having this dialogue this morning. >> that's great, i hope to meet you one day. >> likewise, steve. > talk, both you. we appreciate it. first black friday and then small business sat, next cyber monday, what you need to know before you go on line to get those deals.
8:15 am
8:16 am
and drop off about 30 elementary school kids. cops say she admitted taking antidepressants, painkillers and shlep pills the day she was arrested. when you look at this video, here's a school bus driver that is going to be in charge of at least 30 children in a school bus. she's a pill popping pee brain to put the children at risk and the community at risk because she has a drug habit and she got arrested for dwi and leaving the scene of an accident. i'm superintendent michael chip wood, that's my take. weave we have epa update right now on the breaking news we told you a few minutes ago. a car dealership catches fire overnight. it happened on the 1700 block of chelsea drive. sabina was life at the keep. you can see behind me heavy smoke billowing from this building. you can see firefighters up on the roof trying to control any
8:17 am
hot spots that might still be flaring up. we are told just a short timing a the fire has been put under control. let's take a look at a video we shot for you early this morning. firefighters tell me the fire started about 5:15. this is a dealership along route 42 in delsea drive. this is a five-alarm fire. we're told it started in the the back offed building. haz mat teams have been called in due to the fact that there may be hazard materials inside of the building. it smells not like a house fire, a typical building fire. this smells like a car fire. we're told that typically inside the showroom there are about two to three cars and, of course, vehicles that are adjacent to and in front of the building. now, since dinnertime yesterday vineland firefighters have responded to three fires, including this one. one of those two people had to be rescued and another one, there was actually a burn victim
8:18 am
involved. these guys mostly volunteer, they're working 24-hour shifts are the same guys who dealt with those fires last night, back out here this morning. so on this holiday weekend we are great lful for these hard working individuals. this is a fire at team nissan. we are told it is under control as firefighters continue to work to put out some hot spots. 21 year old man missing since wednesday. shane montgomery, a student at west chester was last seen after leaving a public thursday morning. there is a $10,000 remarried for liable information leading to him. karen. remember one of the really cool things that we do, we let our university and the college students create their own story.
8:19 am
amanned a dot son, a student from widener is here this morning. hi, how are you, something fun. >> it is something fun, it's about rituals and superstitions do in sports, not only the players, but the fans as well. it's really crazy things. it doesn't seem to matter what sport or whether you're a player or a fan. game time habits or rituals for are are part of the game. even evoking a higher power is part of the games. 26 percent have prayed to god to help their team and 19 percent believe god plays a role in determining who wins. i asked a couple of people for their opinion. >> i think most of the rituals that people form are usually routine which helps them focus and get into the zone and helps them success. i think it's very effort whether connected to a specific religion, it depends on the
8:20 am
person. > some of the most common game day for fans include wearing game gear or painting your phase. i follow women's soccer quite closely or if they lose or they don't play very well, i wash the jersey that i have twice to kind of wash away their bad luck. if you thought some of the phanariotual were strange, wait until you hear some of the quirks until some of the most professional at lettic. michael jordan always wore shorts under his other shorts. philly outfielder richie ashburn slept with his bat during his hitting streak. it doesn't matter what you perform, just as longs a your team comes out victorious. > do you have anything superstition that you do. >> i personally don't. some people do some crazy things
8:21 am
that i never would have thought of. there's something about nascar, they believe that $50 bills are bad luck and green cars are bad luck, too. pretty crazy things that people believe in. > people leave it's all reliant if you change your shirt. >> or leave your seat. > if you have any saw situations, let us know, just use the hashtag fox 9 weekend. > get ready for some movie marathon. net flexion announcing titles that are coming and going. we'll let you know what titles to add to your much see list for next week. > karen. >> we went down to the brandywine require river museums to see the trains and i saw the christmas tree. i saw them on top of cars. that one came in from michael. show us your decorations and share with us. we have so am good ones. roxanne, you got a little christmas village down there.

> hello, i'm bruise gordian a. this honor of thanksgiving this week's only in phillies talking turkey. turkey number one, comedian bill cosby, a parade of accuse others say he sexually assaulted him over decades. the legend ignored the claim saying no comment. my take, with awful that smoke it's only natural to assume there's at least some fire. look, legal i.e. may be better off in remaining quiet, but in the court of public opinion, let's face it, that's where celebrities live, he's doing himself no favors. if these allegations are bogus shout it from the roof tops. the silence only sounds like there's something to hide. turkey number two, checking out a package left on a fill stoop and then promptly stealing it.
8:31 am
times are tough and the they may well be down on her luck, but the woman who bought that package and had it sent to her home, she worked hard to earn her money. she deserves better than to have her efforts stolen by a crook who would rather steel than eastern. my final turkey is actually a team full of turkeys, you know them as our philadelphia 76s. they've had a number of games blown out. a once proud franchise, now the laughing stock of the national basketball association. an is torquely bad team, so bad, in can pennsylvania, they could probably run the table, go winless the entire season. the owners insist there's a grand plan. if we stink badly enough now we'll get top draft picks and be great in just a few years. if the sixers agent calls you, do what i do, tell them get back to me in a few years.
8:32 am
only in philly. your news now, ray rice can get back to playing football if a team wants to sign him an arbitrator over turned the former baltimore ravens indefinite suspension. rise was originally suspended for two games after surveillance video emerged of the running back allegedly punching his wife in an atlantic city casino elevator. they upped the punishment to an indefinitely suspension. rise has pled not guilty to an assault and was entered into a pretrial intervention program for first time offenders. let it rip. this is a new segment right here on fox 29 weekend. we're going to break down some of the big stories of the week and get some of your reaction. joining us now by skype, solomon jones the morning host. good morning to you. >> good morning. how are you? >> thanks for doing this. thanks for playing a long. we got some heavy topics. i want to get into them, first
8:33 am
of all 12 year old tar mar was shot by an officer. just a few days they released surveillance video of that incident. he was pointing a gun at the officer. it turns out the gun was a fake, an air pellet gun. a 12 year old kid is dead because of the incompetent situate of a bunch of police. due i rights parents teach children not to point anything at policemen. gop must consider reel guns. solve morning up to you, let it rip. >> first of all, i used to be a police dispatcher and one thing you have to realize there are three people involved in a call to 91 #, one is the call taking who takes the information, puts it into a computer and puts the code along with it. the other is the dispatcher that actually sends that information out to the police. the third is the police officer who receives the information and then goes out to the call to try
8:34 am
to adjudicate whatever is happening on the streets. so a person with a gun is a high priority. that thing is not necessarily racism. it's not necessarily something that the police officer did on purpose. i think it's a tragic thing. we shouldn't give our kids guns that look real. good point. let's get to our next one. this is people talking about former mayor of new york, ruddy guiliani. during the recent interview about the shooting in ferguson, he gets into a debate about crime. talions. >> it is the reason for the heavy police presence in the black community. > not at all. >> 93 percent -- the police presence cannot make a distinction between those who are criminals and those who called the police to stop the criminals. >> what about the poor black child that was killed by another black child. why don't you talk about the way in which white -- >> why don't you crack down. so why don't you cut it down so so many white police officers don't have to be in plaque
8:35 am
areas. > we got a lot of comments on this one. brandon writing in, rudy guiliani i love that man, he always tells it like it is. lorraine saying rudy guiliani is an idiot. first of all, he is not telling it is like it is. at best his comments are the at best, worse, they are racist. 84 percent of murders by whites -- murders of white people are by other white people. people kill people who are close to them, who live in the same communities as them. so to act like this is a black problem i think is misleading at best and again offensive at worst. the other thing he leaves out is that black mails are 21 percent more likely to be killed by police than their white counterparts. that is not a coincidence. that is something that we need to deal with. now we're going to turn to something a little lighter. richard sherman, seattle
8:36 am
seahawks causing more controversy once again. remember he went on when he last year's supplant bowel. he recently went on a rant against the nfl. it's a stance on product enforcement. he also slammed the nfl forcing a team to play twice in five days and then yesterday he trended on twitter for calling 49er fans mediocre. richard more than is pretty amazing. the nfl needed him and his owing oh, he's totally entertainment. i am so tired of this idiot richard sheer movement let it rip. >> i think richard sherman is a pretty smart guy. most people don't know that he went to stanford. people didn't realize this guy went to stanford. this guy is no dummy. he gets up with a cardboard cutout of his teammates and starts slamming the nfl, starts naming all the sponsors, starts
8:37 am
calling them out for their hip rocky, on the the beer, are on all of the things that they're asking them to advertise while saying we care so much about player safety, but they're having them play two games in five days. > solomon thank you so much. we really appreciate your time. >> thank you so much for having me. > of course you can always check out solomon jones on 900amwrd monday through friday on from 7 to 10 at. > brads of black friday is over, but there's still shopping to be done. today is small business saturday. they are hoping to entice buyers to spend their money. take a look at some of the holiday decorations. you have amazing christmas trees. this one is from michelle. it's gorgeous. that's her mother's tree down in

will die down. it skies cloudy and cold through the afternoon. 29-degrees that's what you're looking at, might make it to 30. not a whole lot of sun coming into the picture. it will be a great ski day. you're just going to be lacking that sunday. look at these temperatures. it is cold out there. 19 in mount poke no. it's 24 in pottstown. 30 in philadelphia. we've gone up a degree in the past hour ants ' 30 in wildwood. i was checking the wind chill factors. not much of the wind. the feel-like temperature is the actual air temperature. so that's a little bit better. here's a look at ultimate doppler. we do have some flurries anything around mainly out to our west. we saw that in state college, williamsport, milliers bug seeing a if you flues. to the west of us it is just cloudy. we'll make it up to 41-degrees today. tonight we'll fall only into the upper 30s. warmer air is starting to move in with the southerly wind.
9:03 am
that will set us up for a mild sunday and even more mild monday. 53 for the high on sunday and we get up to 57 by monday with rain coming in to the picture tuesday and wednesday. thanks dominica. it's always so difficult when we have this cold temperatures to battle fires. new this morning, we have some information that were pete t think busy overnight. the car dealer ship that caught fire in vineland. we'll check in with sabina who is life out on the seen. this fire has been knocked out, but at some point this morning it hit five alarms. we've got video from you from earlier this morning. we've smoke billowing from the scene. the fire has been knocked out. the call came in at about 5:15

9:07 am
the mall or shop. it's just a lot of hyper. > well, i agree with you, almost 99 percent. but then we had that terrible, terrible incident that happened out of north jersey where there was a couple that was doing the holiday shopping and the man lost his life. do you remember that? he was parking in the mall. there can be some terrible violence, but i guess there can be terrible violence at in i time of the year. >> there can be. it's always situational. you have to remember, if people know what they're going. it's planning. you're taking a mri you're spending money and it's a plan. you just have to respect that it's a plan that you have to go out and execute. you have to make sure that you are going to go and come back safely. there's a lot of things i can tell you, the parking, make sure that you're in lit parking lots. always be alert, aware of your surroundings. these are all things that people know. we don't want to over shot, what i mean by that is over shop, have all of our hands full with
9:08 am
bags. we never go in the trunk and secure it. we look lost once we have all these bags and we still want to shop. strangers are going to see that. those that are out to rob you or take something from you, that's what they're going to do. you can't provide them with that opportunity. you have to be a little bit more smarter. it's going to happen any time of the year throughout the us. it's not just now. it's interesting that you're talking about this one, if i went out and interviewed 25 people and i say do you pay attention,. >> yes, i always know to pay attention and be really alert. but then if i really look at them, they all have their heads down and looking at their phones. most us are caught up on our smart devices. you're right. going into the mall and coming out of the mall they have their hands occupied and then they're on their phone and they don't have their keys out and then there's going to a teenager that's willing going to carry
9:09 am
the bags and they always work in pairs. that's what they'll do to take you away from that and distract you and take what you have. i disagree with you, the cellphone, it's from the mall door to your car dorm all you have to do is be vigilant and know your surrenderrings. thank you so much for your time. we appreciate it. commonsense, good advice, be aware this time of year and every time of year. thank you very much, karen for having me. > thank you, joann to all a of you out there. we hope you have happy and save shopping. your holiday shopping will likely include a new article of clothing or two, but what about the stuff that's been in your closet forever? we answer your style questions and tell you whether you should love it or lose it. plus, it's not christmas without grandma. all the family dressed in plaque > poor grandma getting run over by a reindeer and all. was this all part of a master

9:15 am
from 975, the fanatic. hi, guys, how are you? >> happy thanksgiving. what did you think about that game. >> normally we sit here on saturday morning and we preview the game that's coming up tomorrow, even though it's a couple days after it now, we're not moving on. they crushed them. they dismantled them. it was in jerry's house, is there anything better, especially on a thanksgiving than the eagles beat down on the cowboys, what did you coin the day. >> turkey tko. it's going to go down with all the great eagles games that had names. you can put this right up there, the turkey day tko. you two would not be here without pictures. what pictures do you have to show us? >> we look forward to the seattle seahawks game, we don't want to talk about any other game but the one that took place on thanksgiving day. the first picture you see is the cowboys mascot. he got the rest of the day off.
9:16 am
at half time he got to go back and worry about what is going to happen the rest of the season. he was down. the next picture is jerry jones and tony romo meeting after the game. it didn't struck me that these guys were talking. he is the manager of the coy boys. do they do anything small down there? look at the rims on that golf cart? joan i jones is a silk boxer type of guy. he's a complicated guy, i think. is that tire flat? they don't do anything small down there. you have to walk through a bar to get to the field. it's ridiculous. speaking of jerry indian ocean, i love this picture. because this is all he needs to do to close out the rest of the season. it's a different season, but it's the same old cowboys. they're going to miss the
9:17 am
playoffs again this year. the eagles are one game ahead of the cowboys. if the playoffs started right now they're out of the playoffs. it's a very thin line between winning the division and being in the playoffs or not. very important as we start to look ahead. we got the cowboys coming in in two weeks. got to beat them again. but it feels good to be an for example l fan. >> it does. do you know anyone who grew up in philly, but is a huge cowboy fan like they were cheering us on thanksgiving night. >> like the cock roaches that are all over this place? we even heard from them in the last 36 hours. we haven't heard from them. cowboys, are fans, are you out there? > are you guys back in the closet this week. >> i see that door behind you. >> we never left the closet. we decorated a little about it. they don't let us out. >> we just need your masks with a zipper on it. > thank you you two. have a great day.
9:18 am
>> let you know what you think about the game, the eagles whipping up on the cowboys. chances are you've probably gotten some clothes from for christmas in the past or maybe you're shopping for some new stuff. if you need to make some room in your closet, if you love it or leave it. it's all coming up.
9:21 am
> i'm jeff cole, it's time for fox unfiltered where we answer your complaints and comments right here on the air. first up, fox thursday under fire. it's our popular segment on good day philadelphia every thursday we highlight pets in need of homes. but this week ma wrist a took us to task. a normally enjoyed good day, but you should be ashamed of yours for promoting rag cat cats. millions of cats die in shelters. promoting spends mills of dollars on cats is disgusting. breeders like this are disgusting. we hear your concerns, lots of viewers share your opinions, but fox thursday is all about the pets. in this case we put a spotlight on those cute kittens. we aren't advocating one over the other. that's a personal choice.
9:22 am
we want homes for all our furry friends and we don't believe the breeders we've had on in this case are horrible. we've met breeders who love their pets, love their animals and have a hard time actually saying goodbye and there is a demand for certain breeds. but marissa we wanted to get your opinion on the air as well. we think it's important and we think that am people possibly could hear what you have to say. they could agree and that could save some lives of animals in shelters. next, bill cosby concerns. diane wrote in, i don't want to keep hearing about bill cost business, so please stop putting him in your news cast. you are smearing the man. come on, diane, smearing the man? we're just presenting the facts as we know them. bill cosby taking the stage. a number of women have come forward. we can't ignore that. we aren't saying their claims are true, but dr. cosby's
9:23 am
refusal to respond makes it hard on the media to truly present both sides in a fairway. for many his sill liens is a sign of guilty. we don't think so. we're not judging here. we're reporting the facts as we know them. if he doesn't come back. he is welcome to object on any one of our shows. he knows that we'll press him, but we'll also be fair. > i'm standing here with mike jerrick. do you know that you have fans of all ages? >> i do? > yes, you do. i've been watching good day for years and i woke up this morning and i could hear mike's voice from my seven year old's room. seven and she's hooked. love you all. >> thank you, just seven years old. she was probably watching halloween, all the cast dressed up. she thinks you're else sabina and it's frozen, too?
9:24 am
i think that else sabina thing this is it. you know what i like is this little unfiltered thing that you do for the morning show. before i was watching cartoons. this is better than cartoons. are you calling me cartoonish? that did sound bad. i would like to have feedback from your viewers every day. that's fox unfiller ted. we'll see you next week. > cartoons, mike. >> seriously. we're going to talk about sneaky foods, foods that make you fat and you may not even realize how am l calories are in. lauren, you explain them. bagels, cream cheese, you may not think about it, but beg else contain a lot of cashes. we know this. you add on scars when you smear on your teaspoon of cream cheese, butter and everything. also on the list, smoothies, sure they're packed with vitamin, but they're also packed with lots of sugar. your coffee may be good if you're drinking it black, but you add cream and sugar and
9:25 am
you're adding lots of calories. salad dressing, the veggies are good for you, but once you pile on the salad dressing you are piling on more calories. light beer, to the delicious holiday and the winter beers, 10 pounds in one week. it was like water weight. i think you maybe gained a pound. i went into the next thing. you know how you're in one decade of numbers? i went to the next decade. and i'm like that's it. i was freaking out for two days and she was like i don't see a difference and i don't really see a difference now. who does that? karen. what is your weakness? >> my other weakness was chocolate chip cookies, so it was a combo, the baked goods and
9:26 am
the beer. > this was fun. we have this christmas investigation coming up. i think i hear the music. we need to know what happens to grandma the night she got run over by the reindeer. we've got a doctor weighing in. someone asked us to give a shout out to their child. gary sent in this picture saying she's not getting run over by a reindeer this year. could you give a shout out to our something, mike s. we are so proud of him. heck, yeah, we are proud of him, too. anthony morning loose owe sending this one, alley is enjoying her weekend show. congratulations. of course our jut box is still playing. you know what song this is, hey! welcome home! hey mom!

> time now for knocking the king. hi, howard, this is jason from center city and i saw your comments on the sixers. how much longer should fans put up with a season for the 76 others? it's just awful. how much longer with the fans put up with the gmc injure trying to lose to get a good draft pick. he's embarrassed with a team that could not beat kentucky.
9:30 am
i think the fans should say goodbye. the plan sticks. sam has a bigger picture, a longer can in play and we will see how it turns out. we have to keep the course, keep losing and that will put us in a position to get better talent for the city and the team and everyone will be happier in the long run. > howard, relax. keep losing, lose for not one, not two, not three, maybe four years. just keep on losing. keep on being embarrassed, keep on being a joke. when teams tank, they tank for one year, not two. the sixes might go for three. we don't even know if this is going to work. any idiot can put together a losing team and that is what sam hickey is doing, putting together a bad basketball team. this team is terrible. the plan i don't think is going to, would. get the whole deal, but i don't think it's going to work and i
9:31 am
don't think it's going to work with this guy. so you relax, okay, big guy? keep sending your videos and i'll keep setting you straight. > you relax. now is your chance to knock the king. a little video on your phone. anyplace that's easy for you. just use our hashtag, fox 29 weekend. we'll find it. or you can call this number, 18292-9369. go ahead, knock the king. > time for your news now. a shooting inside a nordstrom store in chicago leaves one person dead and another injured. this happened around 8:30 last night. a man shot his girlfriend before shooting himself. she was an employee of the store. she is now in critical condition. cyber monday. it's small business sat when
9:32 am
consumers are urged to support local business. philadelphia plans to make that a little easier. parking in the city is free after 11:00 a.m. today. and every saturday leading up until christmas. karen. when we found her christmas morning at the scene of the attack, she had incriminating paw marks on her back. grandma got run over by a reindeer walking home from our house christmas eve. you can say there's no such thing for sand that, but as for me and grandpa, we believe. how many times can you sink this one? an absolutely christmas classic. of course it's cheesy and it's going to be stuck in your head all day long, so we're sorry about that, but we want to know
9:33 am
what really happened to grandma. people have been wondering about this one of since that song came out. on twitter people have been guess. jeff writes, grandma got run over by the reindeer, the reindeer was texting and driving, be part, stay safe. christopher says grandma got run over by a reindeer that had a blood alcohol limit three times over the limit. those are all good guesses. the pennsylvania medical society joins us by skype to explain what may have happened. good morning. >> good morning. > all right, there may be some clues in the song itself, so let's get right to a clip in the song. >> she had been drinking too much egg nothing and we begged her not go. but she forgot her medication and she staggered out the door into the snow. > all right. doc, what do we make of that.
9:34 am
too much egg nothing and we're talking about forgetting medication. we're concerned that perhaps grandma was a diabetic and with the eggnog there was a lot of alcohol in it and she didn't eat a lot of food while she was drinking, so as a result she started to develop low blood sugar and when she left to go back home, she passed out in the snow and maybe hit her head and remained unconscious. that's one possibility. the other concern would have to do with a food allergy. sometimes eggnog can have almond milk in the it and if she had an allergic reaction to it, that could have caused a problem. she realized she didn't have her epipen with her. so she tried to get home, but on the way felt worse. again, had difficulty breathing, maybe dropped her blood pressure, passed out and remained unconscious. > are the mr. . we're looking at all different things. the suspicious goes all around. someone tweet, salinas, grandma is going to sue the pants off
9:35 am
santa. is there any chance this could be santa's fault? maybe he needs some better prescription glasses or something? >> well, his ophthalmologist did weigh in on this and claims that santa does get an annual eye exam and from his last one his vision was perfect. so that's a contributing factor. a report on this whole incident. some of it is a little controversial. could this be a setup or maybe a conspiracy here. >> well, there's concern for that as well. certainly family members were concerned by the reaction of grandpa over this whole scenario or he just continued to play cards, drink beer and watch football with cousin mel. so there's concern about that as well as cousin mel perhaps beeping up to no good. > thank you, doctor, we really appreciate it. that's my favorite segment all morning long. a magical surprise for one little girl.

> hi, i'm marie a than you're watching fox 29 weekend. she is as cute as can be that marie a. we want to show your kids or your family. or if you have a question or a comment about a story or if you want to ask what is the weather going to be like, paste your questions on fox 29. you can e-mail us at fox 29 weekend tb, just do it. a fairytale come true for one very deserving princess. 7 year old area run a willets became the bell of the ball when she met cinderella. she suffers from severe scoliosis. she was treated to salon makeover at know of a hair salon. she had a princess dress. had lunch at the president obama. got special back stage passes to meet cinderella after watching

the musical. a lot for one little girl. that sure was a dream come true for her, right? that was a fairytale. she looks amazing and gorgeous. can you imagine seeing the show. you get to go back stage and take her hand. > so adorable. are you guys shopping? >> not yet. > for me. >> you've inspired her to buy dresses. >> exactly. > chances are maybe that you have a he gotten some clothes for christmas in the past or maybe you're buying some for yourself right now. if you're shopping for new stuff you're going to need to make room for some things. love it or lose it. coming up. let's take a look at some of the comments you're sending in. are we really watching from a reel dr. about grandma and the rain door, this is why i love fox 29 weekend. i know that dog.

> time for your news now. not exactly the kind of black friday some business owners in burlington county was hoping for. it was more than a week ago when a fire ripped through a portion of the columbus farmer's market. ten stores were destroyed and others are still trying to clean up trying to remove smoke and soot. can make a denation by going online to go found me.com me.com/columbus market fire. > take a look at some of our pocono mountain cam. theres are lots of skiers right now. they are having so much fun as you take live pictures from acourted cameras around the pocono mountains. a good weekend to go up there, dominica. absolutely. they're not mad about the snow we saw last week. it's certainly good conditions
9:46 am
for them. temperatures are very cold this morning. we are starting out in the 20s and the teens. it's another winter feel for today. let's start, though, with a twitter question asking about the temple game which happens, i think, game time starts at 3. so here's the conditions that we are going to be looking at throughout the game. it is going to be cold. it stays dry, but cloudy. so 2937 by midafternoon and then temperatures should top out today about 40 degrees. so by the end of the game, you're going to be looking at temperatures right around the 40-degree mark. if you're sitting out there, you don't have to worry about too much of a wind chill, but certainly bundle up. it's 19 in mount pocono, much much of a wind chill again, because the winds are light. but it is certainly hard to take these act allayer temperatures. we even have the 20s down the
9:47 am
shore. the clouds are going to stick around for today. we have flurry action out to the west. that will be around noon, 1:00. look at mini warmup we have coming in. it's in the 50s on sunday and then 57-degrees by monday. that is certainly going to feel good with temperatures for once getting above normal. also some rain in the forecast for the middle of next week. back to you, guys. it's the holidays and chances are if you're lucky you're probably going to get some new clothes and that may mean cleaning out the old things in your closet. what do you keep, what should you get rid of? we posed that very question on twitter and now our fashion expert joins us by skype to let us know if we should love it or lose it. thank you for joining us. >> thank you, karen. this is great. let's get right to our questions. first up we have from laurie and she says she's got this max i dress, does she love it or lose it. >> i actually really like this max i dress that she showed us.
9:48 am
it is the print that never goes out of still, itself black grays and white and she can pair it with a great jean jacket or a black pumps or sandals:i think that looks very modern and fresh. i would keep that. i would definitely love it. amanda, she has a sweater. what do you think of amanda's sweater. >> amanda says that has been sitting in her closet for a while and it looks like it's been sitting in her closet for a while. it's time to lose the sweater. i don't really like the collar. there's nothing about that sweater that looks fresh or new or modern and i don't know how to update it. we got this question that comes in from christina. it's a video question. i'm christina ball dean owe. with the cold weather among oozy dug out my warm fuzzy headbands. i think we have to lose that,
9:49 am
too. that headband looks dated, too immature for christina to have on. there is no reason she should be wearing that around her head. get her something a little cooler. i think that might be a better look. > you've got some jackets behind you. we got another question that came in. this one is from lauren. what do you think of this jacket? i'm doing another lose it. i hate to do it, but i'm not thrilled with the jacket. i was trying to figure out how you could ware it. like the gray sleeves with the black body. that's cravens but decides that, it's misshaped. i just don't know how to make that look good even with the genes or anything like that. > i think that's good advice. thank you for your time. we really appreciate it. we're going to love you and we're going to keep you around. > do you love it or lose it. just use our hashtag fox 29

> hi, this is dan are cot oh we're in the middle of a holiday shopping season and that means the scam artists are out in force trying to get a piece of your purse. here's a couple of tips you can do to try to protect yourself. the first thing i want you to watch out for is online scams. things can designer bags, designer clothes, toy, pure fume even. be careful, you only buy from authorized sellers and check their online rating before you buy the product. finally, pay with a credit card so if there is a policemen you have a pretty good chance of getting your money back. next, watch out for those
9:55 am
e-mails in your in box that say you've got a gift card coming. we traced a couple of them back in the money lab and found out that they really lead to a subscription that you have to buy just in order to cash in the gift card. that doesn't make sense. skip it, delete it from your e-mail. and finally, watch out for those charity scams, especially this time of the year. if a charity only asks for cash and doesn't want to give you a receipt, i wouldn't give them any money. check out a really cool online tool, charity navigator. org. they're rang the charity and tell you exactly where your money is going. that's a good idea. so tackle that holiday list, but remember that kate spade you bought for 50 bucks you may not want to stand too close to the radiator. with that i'm cashing out. tomorrow morning on fox 29 weekend, a nationwide debate. police officers across the country be wearing body cameras
9:56 am
are there down sides? join the discussion. use your hashtag fox 29 weekend. didn't get enough shopping down on plaque friday, get ready for cyber monday. it's all tomorrow starting at 8:00 on fox 29 weekend. let me know what you're going to be getting for christmas. how cute is this picture? she used the hashtag, christmas tree. alexis staying coast i with the first place eagles. we love this picture, unforget table. so cute. we love that picture. keep them coming. we'll be showing them off all weekend long. > hashtag will soon be a thing of the past. it's designed to interestly use hashtags for one button.

it's being sold for 26-dollars. i thought it was like a new keyboard that was coming out. just one little key. a little l addendum to the keyboard. what i need just because i type it so much in the all the graphics. if i could get that button and press it. it's an easy button. the whole hashtag fox 29 weekend. it could cut my typing in half in the morning. > by one button. >> the best part of thanksgiving, food. dominica? family. >> being here with us, because you were working. >> what about you? >> family. > aaron, sorry, family, the eagles won. >> that's right. that was icing on the cake. > what about you karen. >> my son wrote in what his favorite thing was and every kid said my family and he wrote, thank god for george washington and the u.s. army.
