here's a look at winter weather advisory, monroe, northampton, lehigh, down to lancaster county, that's until 5:00 tonight. as the system moves in it's a wintry mix. we could see about an inch of ice, sleet accumulate. not a whole lot. it will be a tricky travel out there until the temperatures start to warm up. here's the system now. it's coming in from ohio vaelly starting to push in on the philadelphia area. what we're looking at right now is a little bit of sleet activity coming in right through lancaster county. we're dry in philadelphia and will stay that way until mid-morning. and then the rain starts to push in. as we head into about noontime and through the afternoon through tonight as well. here's a look at temperatures now. coldest temperatures to the north. 28 lancaster and 25 allentown. slightly warmer in philadelphia we're above freezing. this is why we're looking at all rain for us and snow and street

start northwest where the temperatures are cooler and below freezing. here's a look at fox future cast as we go through the morning. noontime, heavy rainology and off throughout the afternoon. tapering off 9, 10 atlantic city tonight and showers linger into tomorrow here's a look at foxcast, a mix north and west that lasts until mid afternoon the mix and changes over to rain. for us all rain in philadelphia and points east. 41 noontime and 43 for the high today. tomorrow we go up into the 60s, believe it or not. it will get mild around here. looking at record temperatures sunday. i'll show you the complete forecast in a little bit. back you to guys. >> thank you so much. several people without a place to stay after a row home fire in southwest philadelphia. >> this say bad one. flames were so bad people had to jump from the roof in order to

jump to safety. we have sabina live at the scene. >> good morning, guys, let's take you to the scene behind me. you can see the aftermath of this devastating fire. three row homes just totally destroyed. if you look at middle one there that's where people on the scene tell me the fire is believed to have began. let's take a look at sky fox video we captured for you last night from the scene. now, again, 19 people are out of their homes this morning. two victims rushed to hup and another at chop and no word on their conditions. people on the scene, initial reports indicate a 70-year-old man suffered burns on 90% of his body. police say two people had to jump from the roof of the row homes. fire fighters rescued several victims. witnesses of the scene tell us the fire appeared to be coming from inside the walls of the home. they say that because they described that every time firefighters wore douse the

flames they come roaring back. we spoke with people open the scene and this is what they told us. >> basically we heard the screaming from the house. and after that we seep a lot of people running and then seen a lot of flames just coming from the first floor and it went above the roof. it was crazy out here you know? a lot of people just screaming and deposit have much kloming on and police was asking us to help clothe them and what have you. those are scary times. >> and definitely a frightening time that neighborhood lived across the street and said flames at one point were so high you could not even tell there was a house behind them. now the red cross is assisting the families displaced from their homes. peco was called to the scene for live wires in the back of the home. back here live it does appear power was restored to much of the block. again you could see the devastation that this fire

caused completely wiping out three row homes and they already condemned all those homes. three people rushed to the hospital. no word yet on their conditions. karen and lauren, back to you. >> sabina thank for the update. >> bucks county a barricade situation is now over swat teams were called in 9:30 last night investigators say a man with several gun was was threatening to call his mother who was threatening those in the home and as well as a neighbor. no one was injured. >> this morning's cover story parents of a local charter school beyond frustrated they're scrambling because the child's shut down after months of financial turmoil. so many parents are trying to figure out where they can find a place for children to go to school in days. the district says they'll try to find a place for all the palmer students and will in the area of

public schools. talking about this, nicole haines, her daughter attended palmer middle and miss hin department of public charter. >> nicole, as a mom what went through your mom when you got the letter saying the school is close are for good find a place for your child. i was very frustrated and just a mess because it was christmas time. we was happy and then got the letter and saying that your child's school is closing. >> how did you feel about the palmer school system for your child before the school had decided to close. were you happy with it before. or not really. what did you think. >> i was happy with the school and my child was happy there too. >> what will you do next? >> try to find a school and have to buy a new uniform and i

guess apply financial need for that school. >> it's a big struggle when you have all the up knowns for this. you're an expert for advocating for parents and schools. what did you think when you heard the news. we knew palmer was having financial problems along the way and suddenly shutting its doors. >> it was a terrible tragedy and my heart goes out to all the parents and families struggling with this sudden school closure. i think the biggerer issue beyond what is happening at walt palmer the situation with palmer charter while extreme closing during middle of holiday break with little notice to families, it may seem extreme. it's not unique. another charter closed december 31 and mosiaca and logan announced it was in bankruptcy is placed in receivership and future of their schools in

unclear. and there's been a number of schools where this situation is happening. and i think the bigger issue we have to think about, schools need to be table institutions and whenever school plus closes the most at risk population is children. >> let's go to the facebook comments the great things about charter schools they're able to crackdown in behavior a way public cannot. behavior is out of school in public school district and teachers are pretty much helpless. >> charles writes it's a lottery that's why your school is going to pits that's why i moved to new jersey. he moved to new jersey. helen i have a question wondering for a long time. new jersey did something sued abbott schools and zones saying children in certain zones that were under privileged were not getting enough resources and won and those schools have to now give more money. why don't we do that in philadelphia here. >> we just filed a lawsuit or number of groups mild a lawsuit last month and in court and will

be seeking money for one, pennsylvania does not have funding formula for any school funding one of three in the state and gap between wealthy and poor schools in the state of pennsylvania more than doubled in the last four years alone and we're doing a terrible disservice not only to school districts like philadelphia but dozens across the state of pennsylvania really suffering when we don't have a responsible or even same system for making sure schools have basic needs for financial stability that allows them to do what they need to do to educate children. it's important we look at funding. abbott was a groundbreaking lawsuit it gave the lowest performing schools average sum of of the top performing schools in the state of pennsylvania and allowed a number of schools to do extraordinary things including places and school districts like union city new

may to philly from cape may and wondering what the warm will be like. well it depends what time you leave. if you leave now you have a dry commute. but, as you start to go later today, i would say any time afternoon it's going to start to get wet. especially the closer you get to philadelphia. because we do have this big system that's coming in from the ohio valley. it's rain and snow on the western edge of this because that's where the cold air is. still too mild here. again we're looking really west of the turnpike. that's where we'll see wintery mix until 5:00 today. that's where we have winter weather advisory if you're in the countyes monroe, carbon, northampton, berk, lancaster that's where you see wintry mix for today. here's weatherhead lines. west of pa turnpike, all rain east. and sunday turns mild, temperatures into the 60s around here. we'll still have leftover clouds and showers talking rain with 60

comes along this is old bob okay you eat something like sandwich and it has virus in it, it gets into your intestines and gets to your liver and liver is there where it replicates and causes inflammation. problem then it sheds and then when you go to the bathroom you can cause infection. i have a couple pictures. let's look at what the culprit is. that's hepatitis a virus there. the good news, folks, is that hepatitis a usually does not cause long term problems like hepatitis b or c and not as bad or life-threatening. let's take a look. one tell tale signs you get jaundice, you see whites of eyes there they're yellow. and your urine becomes dark. you can have nausea and vomiting and feel terrible. those are the symptoms. >> listen dr. mike will be here.

morning. why the higher prices? good morning. >> i think across pennsylvania you'll see prices climb a little as a result of 9 or 10 cepts a gallon increase in wholesale gas tax that brings -- you'll see pennsylvania prices creep up while maybe surrounding states are dipping down a little. >> reaction from twitter on this one comment says oivay i can usually fill up in new jersey. do you think this will be a trend. remind us what's the purpose of the gas tax what is money used for. >> gas tax is really crucial here because when the bill was passed in '89 pennsylvania rose 36% -- roads were poor or mediocre he and bridges structurally deficient or obsolete. you can't kick the can down the

road for too long you have to pay. this is result of it. we're seeing last year 10 cents increase in wholesale tax this year another 10 cents increase in gas tax. we'll get a break in 20 16 and back at it 201 for third and final time as result of '9. >> gas price have fallen this year. it doesn't hurt much. got to love the state of pa for putting 10 cent tax on gas because it's too cheap an we need more money for roads get real. you are saying they need to get real. is that just gas prices going up as part of transportation bill. there's other components as well. >> there's other fees but the one that really i think is the main thrust of right now is people see the gas tax and see 10 cement increase and that's usually not okay with motorist they don't like to sew the gas tax.
