8:16 am
northern maine all the way down to southern virginia, by the time all is said and done. expected snowfall amounts. thinks a rough estimate. we could get much more than the 18 to 24 in the blizzard warning area around a foot or so around trenton, philadelphia a we could get as much a as a foot maybe a little less. it depend on where these band set up but further you are a away from the center of the storm, lighter your amounts will be. we are talking on and off snow showers, slippery and throughout the rest of the day heavy at accumulating snow really cranks up tonight blowing and drifting. it will be worse at the coast with the wind, and hazardous travel just about every where you go. that breaks down the storm for today, tonight, and it will last into tomorrow morning. much more, as we morning goes along, as that takes care of your monday. time to look at traffic. bob kelly is standing by. >> hey, good morning, sue. good morning, everybody. 8:16 on this monday morning.

8:33 am
a ground stop has been put into place until 9:00 a.m. mike, we just showed a shot of the airport. we can go back to that. but at philly international a ground stop means all flights destined to philadelphia, are not permit todd leave that other city until at least 9:00 o'clock. you can see runways being cleared there. putting down salt. until 9:00 o'clock flights coming to philadelphia will not be permitted to leave, their departing city. and of course, that is just going to have a domino effect on air travel as we mentioned earlier this morning. some airlines even canceling their flights out and about yesterday and in anticipation of the storm today. air travel could be a mess. best bet, check with the airline on your flight status before you step outside the front door. >> that plane that is rolling down the tarmac there could be taking off.
8:34 am
>> yes but nothing coming in. >> if it is in the air, they will allow to it land. what it will do here is prevent lets a say a flight leaving boston or l.a. or san diego it will not be permitted to leave those cities at least until 9:00. they will probably have, i went through this, they have the deicing program underway. that adds 25 or 30 minutes tour trip. believe me you don't want to fly unless your plane has been deiced. >> those planes maybe get under their gates and maybe they have just landed. >> we will keep an eye on it. >> do you ever wand year sometimes we have to pay more than a man has to pay. such as clothes and things. >> apparently there is a a lot of things we would men are charge more information. >> well, dan ri cota is here a financial expert and let's just get right to a perfect example. >> yeah. >> shave cream, same size. >> you and i used this this morning, right. we have gilette, gilette. both made by gilette.
