7:16 am
weather advisory kicks in for wintry weather that starts as snow and pretty quickly changes over to sleet. through can see leading edge of it railroad edging in the parts of the pennsylvania from ohio and west virginia. so that is for today. we could have ice accumulate in allentown, reading abe pottstown, north and west of the city where ice could accumulate but we expect ice in the metro area that could be very slippery, tonight. so, then, we will change over, from that ice, maybe about 9:00 or 10:00 o'clock to rain. it rains throughout the the night. it rains through the day on wednesday. so by three or 4:00 in the morning when we get back tomorrow morning we will be having just rain and then it is rain on and off throughout the day. wednesday night into thursday. here's where it gets tricky. folks pestering us on twitter, how much snow. it is still two days a away.
7:17 am
we're reluctant to commit to numbers here but we are looking more and more like we have accumulating snow, during the morning on thursday. so throughout the entire morning rush, from say midnight, until nine or ten or 11:00 o'clock in the morning. so that gives us a chance, if this forecast holds for the the snow to build up. now the potential is there and keep in mind it is just potential at the this point, for decent accumulations in the morning. we're thinking 5 inches or more, wednesday night into thursday it is a possibility. but remember, i said potential snowfall, that is the early call on that. so, past seven days we have been pretty cold. our average high is 48. we have in the been anywhere close to that. even yesterday when we got to 40 degrees. we won't be in the seven day forecast, either, but we will have at least a decent weekend. we got to get the through tonight, tomorrow, and then thursday morning, when we could be shoveling snow, bob kelly. shovellable snow.
7:18 am
>> yes, on thursday. >> get that shovel out, get the ice scraper. the whole 9-yard. 7:17. good morning everybody. sky fox over the scene of the situation we have been telling but on tookany creek parkway. bob you, our floor director says right there by the melrose country club. he is right on the money. tookany creek parkway a three vehicle accident, two cars you see there. that is one of the vehicles. upside down. the third vehicle is down the embankment, and into the the creek here which is tookany creek. as we move off to the right that little bridge there, that is the cart path for the melrose country club there to give you a location there. so obviously ice on the roadway sent one of these vehicles in the creek. we don't have have any word yet on the the status of the injuries of the drivers or anyone in the vehicle but right the now tookany creek parkway is closed. we will go to the maps, there, it is right in front of the melrose country club so everyone use front street or
