and durst evaded charges and convictionness three different criminal cases since 1982. that is when his first wife went missing. she has never been found. he had long been suspected in her death n2000, his wife was fun shot dead in l.a. just before police were going to question her about the disappearance of the wife. durst escaped being charged in that case at the time but then in 2003 he was acquitted of murdering a neighbor in texas. did he admit to dismemberrering the body but said it was done in self-defense. they have helped uncover new evidence in the case likely to lead to the charges. legal analyst say despite any evidence in the film the the defense attorneys will work to make sure that he goes free again. >> he will take everything he can get to try to get an acquittal in that case. i wouldn't pull it past them to pull multiple rabbits out of their hat given how good they are good durst spoke to producers on the film but on
