initially did not appear to be foul play, but why was one of the pilots locked out of the cockpit? that's one of the first questions. black box recordings indicate that the high lot was banking on the door and could not get back in. among the 150 people on board, who were killed, two americans, mother and daughter, yvonne and emily selke. yvonne worked in the pentagon satellite mapping office and her daughter emily again 2013 graduate of drexel's west fall college of media arts and design, music industry major. in a statement emily's family said quote our entire family is deeply saddened by the losses of yvonne and emily selke, two wonderful caring, amazing people, who meant so much to so many. at this difficult time we respectfully ask for prove a somebody your prayers. we spoke to student on the campus yesterday. >> very sad, very unfortunate. she obviously was a student at west fall, i am also a student in west fall as well which is the art college. my heart definitely goes out

and convicted for kidnapping a five year old girl, right out of her philadelphia public school classroom, in west philadelphia, posing as her mother, going to the office first, and not having identification, but, getting the little girl pulled out after classroom then backing out of the school with her, and not figured out until hours later when her family was looking for. well, this little girl has physical and emotional wounds, that will never hear, according to tom kline decline, her well known attorney. as the criminal case ends, this civil lawsuit where he is the attorney against the city's school district, continues to wind its long way through the system, no amount of money tom kline decline says, will ever make up for the life-long damages this little girl is still suffering with today, and will, forever. >> yes, rest of her life. oh, my god, so tragic. 7:07. viewing will be held today for chuck bednarik at the connell funeral home in bethlehem. >> bednarik played for the eagles his entire career from 1949 to 1962.

so, as we look down to the south of us, we see along the jersey shore, and the delaware beaches, and the other part of southern delaware, we do have some rain this morning. will it make it to philadelphia? this round may not just quite. but do be prepared for, that drizzle, fog, even if this area of rain doesn't make it, it is on and off rain throughout the day today. eight, 9:00 at night, here comes the cold front. that's what could touch off the loud thunderstorms, out later on in the day. and we see that moving through between say 8:00 and 10:00, 2:00 in the morning, still rain, way out to the west, coal air starts to filter in. some could change to snow. further out west than we think for our area. it is saturday morning, that we have the chance of some snow flurries, maybe even in the afternoon. we'll see what happens as the colder air moves n soap 41 degrees in philadelphia right now. we're still chilly. it is 38 degrees in pottstown, 35 in allentown, and 33 in reading. but the miler air hasn't quite gotten here yet. unless you're in wildwood.

now philadelphia mills mall there. that's northeast philadelphia. we are going took back, weather delays, averaging about one hour and 22 minutes, at philadelphia international airport. because of the fog and the rain that we've, so headed down to the airport, give yourself extra time. check with the airline. delays on 42 because of the fog. shrill slower this morning, because of the poor visibility. eastbound schuylkill 20 minute trip from conshy into downtown. but the half hour and jelly donut here on 95 socked in with the fog woodhaven into center city even the pennsylvania turnpike seeing delays now in philly bensalem, under al valley forge, accident in chester county exton northbound 100 right before the 30 bypass, and then delays on 42 ago women -- as well, fog across the viewing area, slowing us down, add few extra minutes to your trip.

a lot of fog out there, behind us, no fog at all. man, couple of minutes from us, fog all over the place. and it is thick. do you have pay back your student loans, sometimes ten, 15 years to do it, but got to get it done. some states have pretty serious consequence. >> may not be able to teach? really? >> yes, won't be able to work in a hospital. they will put your license, whether it is your drivers license, or your professional license, if you fall too far behind of paying back student loans. i know unbelievable, gets more un believe within i tell that you 22 states are doing there is only three, by the way, are pulling drivers licenses, monday tan, a iowa, and oklahoma.

but new jersey is one of the states that is pulling professional licenses, for teachers, k through 12, and for those who work as doctors or nurses, whatever, in the healthcare industry. i can't believe it is that high after number of states, i also can't believe that this has been going on for so long. but we're not really talking about it. it doesn't make sense. like, for instance, if you liver in montana, big state, don't have much public transportation, they take your drivers license away. how do you get to your job if you don't pay your student loan? >> you mention the license in new jersey, the teaching certificate, will take it away, nos your drivers license, take away your right to teach school? wow. we need to find out how often this happens, but proponents of these laws, many states, trying to revoke them. but proponents say this is the best way to scare people into

have a fool for a client, something like that. >> your attorney is a fool, so are you. >> but when it comes to how much money he got out of people about 300,000. but i notice he only has to pay back 107,000. why is that? >> first 200 victims he defrauded, for 300,000, but about 140 of that was from a ticket agency. so, what the court said was ticket agency do you have sue don tollefson in a civil procedure, so don tollefson you only have to pay back $164,500 to the people you defrauded. >> more problems coming his way. >> oh, civil lawsuit against him by sure by a lunch of post people. >> civil lawsuit? >> the money they were defrauded. so each of the people defraud philadelphia they want each one of those people can bring civil lawsuit against don tollefson. we have only had the criminal procedurement normally criminal procedure is before the civil procedure. now there has been conviction, now all of the people defrauded can all bring civil claims against him. >> he could appeal, right? >> or is this it? >> this is it, he's going to jail. >> for how long?

this guy was -- committed suicide, i mean, drove 150 people into the side of the mountain. or it was a terrorist act, now making a statement, whatever. let's go back to the suicide thing. could you hold an airline responsible for that? >> well, it depends. and then when i say it depend, depends if there was some type of members on behalf of the airline. what i heard there is a requirement when one of the pilots steps out of the cockpit, that one of the flight attendants is supposed to go in there so that if something happens to him from medical standpoint that there is somebody else in there. if they didn't follow those regulations you can consider that to be negligence, therefore, lawsuit would be a proper thing to do. >> of course it goes country to country. i think we have that here in the u.s. how many times have you seen they'll pull the cart in front of the aisle, block the aisle. >> right. >> the co-pilot or the pilot will come out. leaving only one person in, and no flight attendant goes in there. >> that's against regulations may have theory for lawsuit there. the other thing is it occurred to me, shouldn't the pilots be able to get in by some type of

code? why should they be locked out? seems to me they should have some type of code or some sort of override system to allow somebody. suppose there was flight attendants in, there some gas or something that knocked them out. there still should be some way for the pilot to get back in there. >> ally there is a320, but goes into five minute lockdown. >> if the pilot was inside, doesn't let anybody else in. can override the system, and only eight minutes. >> interesting case because the plane descended gradually. which they say probably ann tension al act, not unintentional act. >> we'll find zero. >> find out. ken, thank you. so this little girl, she beat cancer. >> and she's right here. she is so cute. we are talking about lea. she is in the studio with her dad, devon, we will talk to them next.

the very combination of that cold front, coming through, and colder air behind it. so we've been watching the possibility of some thunderstorms, maybe in southern delaware, right now, some of these isolated heavy downpours we're seeing on radar, and few showers, in southern new jersey. not too much has made it up into the metro area, at least just yet. but, if you're long the delaware beaches specially might be seeing some rain right now, a look at the future cast, computer model, what is happening with precipitation, cloud cover, you might even see a little bit of sunshine here and there today. but not very much. cold front comes through, say, between 8:00 and midnight tonight. with some possible thunderstorms, and then, there is a lingering of precipitation into friday morning. and look down to the southwest, as that cold air moves in, and at least in the higher elevations of west virginia, possibility of, dairy say it, little bit of snow. i don't think we'll see on friday, but possibility on saturday morning, with secondary cold front, of some snow flurries, even here in

neighborhood, no lottery. you don't have to win the lottery to get your kid in, guaranteed a school seat in the school. in addition, partnership schools. they work with the district, we contract with themment and they really serve our very unique needs. lastly, they come with additional funding for facilities, renovations or new construction. >> at loft student will be in newly renovated or brand new schools? >> exactly. so for these five schools, fast l tis have been in disrepair for long time, white year school for example the front steps have been condemned, walk by the school, already caution tape around it. >> a lot of issues. >> that's whittier. >> yes. >> so, this is great. , this is fan taste i can, where are you get the money. >> the fun come from allocations, it means, for every student we receive in the district get certain amount of fund, same thing with renaissance schools. >> from the state? >> most of it comes from the state. very little comes from local

tax levy. don't have large tax levy allocation to our budget. so, it is allstate funding, where we're fortunate in new jersey that for every student sweer of it is i believe a fair student funding formula, court ruling about 25 years ago, that gave district like camden more funding because our kids have higher needs. >> at love people are calling this very bold plan. how long is this in the works? >> good question. i was appointed 18 months ago. during that time we now held about 45, 46, open town hall neighborhood meetings, where we've been having open honest conversation about our schools struggling the most. and that's really what this is about. the schools that have seen declining enrollment. one of the schools, serves about quarter of the kids that use today serve just seven years ago. so, in those conversations we discussed partnering with renaissance school organizations, non-profit organization action, just asking for help, in those schools, asking for help, to help them have them help us revitalize. >> when you say schools struggling, i saw some of these, like two in five

student do not graduate high school. one in five reads, writes, does math at their grade level, one in five. >> that's the district average. if you look at the schools that were optimistic about revitalizing, at molina school, 7% of the student on grade level ' a and reading and math. >> you can't put that on a bad looking building. i mean, so, what is the other aspect of it? you can't throw money at school district and make the kids better student. i heard a part of this proposal, kids walk to the their own schools, take a bus to the school they're going to, will be shinier, which is great. but what about the teachers? are you going to wipe away all of the teachers and then they have to reply? >> it is a really good question. first of all, i just want to make very clear, systemic failure. we're not here to point the finger. this is something that has been in the last few decades, just challenges that we've inherited. so, we're not saying that the teachers fault, or principal's fault, but this is systemic

short coming. so as far as how it is going to work, exactly right, shiny new building doesn't solve everything. so we will bring in new leadership teams. these will three non-profit organizations, master i, uncommon, kip, have real long track record. >> these teachers say we have a teacher been doing this for 20 years, they have to reply and do interview again for their jobs. >> so two things. one, all of the teachers retain their seniority rights. >> okay. >> with the district. >> okay. >> but, if they do want to work for one of these organizations, they will be guaranteed an interview, not necessarily a job, but it will be a fair process. >> sounds to me like it is teacher evaluation. where you have to prove, you have to prove that you're a good teacher to get back, get a job back. >> well -- >> we are thrilled with these organization that is come, in
