colder than you've been used to, giving today a six. it is a nice looking day, starting off with sunshine, no rain really in the forecast, maybe isolated shower, that's about what it will get. but winnie, a cooler, bus stop buddy with the fox 29 winter jacket on, you know, it is cold for those little ones out there. mainly in the three's, suburbs, 40's here in the city so chilly start, will stay that way for the next couple of mornings. 43 degrees outside in philadelphia, right now, west wind will increase, through today, we could see some gusts over 30 miles an hour. so winnie, cooler, isolated shower, chilly afternoon out for the phils, day game today. into tonight, 37 degrees, partly cloudy and very chilly, we've got freeze warnings, and freeze watches out for parts of the area. we will show that you in just ahead in your seven day forecast, first here's bob. >> morning. let's go back it the breaking news here. all lanes block on the westbound side, in the tunnel right under 30th street

station. and an accident involving an overturned vehicle, emergency crews are actually trying to come up behind us here, but traffic is back up. no shoulder in this stretch. and even the eastbound side of the schuylkill expressway impacted here, folks have stopped, and they're getting out of their vehicle. you can see them walking around, want to go to the next camera here, because i want to show you the school bus was the next car in line here, that would have involved in the crash. so the actual accident is right here in front of the school bus, the emergency crews have now pull up on the opposite side of the barrier here, so both east and westbound on the schuylkill are impacted, right at that merges, if you are coming in from, say, south philadelphia, you end their tunnel under 30th street station, and just past the scene is the off ramp to come into center city on that vine street expressway. so this is going to clog up everyone trying to come into philadelphia this morning.
7:03 am
look, folks even walking around. and i wonder, this lady looking on the school bus here, this guy, i wonder if we even have any children on the bus, all just happened as we were in that last commercial break. still coming in, but what i can tell that you the westbound lanes of the schuylkill are closed, if you are coming into philadelphia, and you come over the walt whitman bridge, use i-95 to the vine expressway, than will at least give you access into center city. but his is going to tie us up here in both directions for the beginning of our morning rush hour. and then we have an accident, east on 422, right near collegeville. mike, alex, back to you. >> thank you, bok. 7:03, offer duty philadelphia police officer, out walking his dog, forced to flood his gun and jump into action. >> when we walk our dogs, we have to arm ourselves? >> well, it is a good thing to be armed in this case, at least, and jim suleman, a love his friends probably wish he had armed himself, before he walked his dog six weeks ago
7:04 am
today, because he lived in overbrook, as well, just where this off duty officer lives, and his killing happened just two blocks from where this happened, and jim suleman killed six weeks ago today. so, it has happened again. and this philly police officer just gets done his shift, but learns his life, not only in danger while at work, on duty, but sadly also when he gets off duty, taking his happy to see him dog, happy to go out, but just like that 51 year old father, and that same neighborhood in overbrook, another attempted robbery, another guy, with another gun, targets another man and his best friends. the operation err better trained, quicker drawing fire, pulls his gun, pulls historying err offer first getting eight shots offer at the robber before he can fire one. and this robber ran away and

7:23 am
morning, everybody, let's get back to breaking news, shutdown of the schuylkill expressway, looking liver, at one of the cameras here, the headlights on the left, that's the westbound lanes, closed, with an overturned vehicle. it is a tough one, because this is in the tunnel, under 30th street station. live look at one of the next cameras, you see philly firefighters, school bus right there off to your right. that school bus right behind the overturned vehicle. we are trying to get confirmation, if that bus has adult, children, maybe folks in the penn relays, or maybe it is empty. nonetheless, the westbound lanes of the schuylkill
7:24 am
expressway are closed right now, at 30th street station, if you are coming into the city, your best bet, stick with 95 north, to the vine street expressway. mike? >> so many people in from out every town for these penn relays. >> gentlemen. >> and you can see, you know, where they have the penn relays, franklin field, from that accident. my goodness, i bet a lot of people are confused. >> it could be part of the transportation shuttle services, folks stay in center city, the parent, kids, get pick up at the hotel, get dropped off at the penn relays at franklin field there. >> thousand not familiar with the schuylkill. you and i are familiar with the schuylkill and it is a mess every day. >> google trying to take things to the next level. get unlimited talks and next, 20 bucks a month. sounds good snow. >> sounds great. but sounds too good to be true, lauren, what's google up to here? >> all right, there is a catch. but first, google announcing a
7:25 am
we expect from the them, basically, cheap cell phone plan start with $20, unlit dollars talk, next, for every gig every data you want it is ten bucks. for everything you don't use you get the money back, example, three giga plan, only use 2.2, that's $22, you get $8 credit. can you imagine if every company did that? if the iphone maker is apple, came out and said we're going to give you cheap service it, would be unbelievable. this is why this is so unbelievable. all about the a you need 650-dollar neck us six smart phone to sign up. so limited number of people. google not trying to be the next sprint. it is just trying to shake up the industry. and tell verizon and t-mobile and the like is that bills are too expensive. don't make customers spends extra monet month on data they don't need or use. >> do you have to have a contract, like two year
7:26 am
contract? >> so it is by invitation only right now. very few have access, but i'm assuming you need some sort of contract to do it. and of course like i said do you have have the motorola nexus six phone, which is pretty price. >> i 7:26. >> we have a philadelphia eagle in the studio right now. here to talk about it, very important issue, very close to him. yes, john, one of our good friends of the show. they're trying to raise awareness about domestic violence, the nfl very involved in this. john is here. >> and also, it is take a chance day. >> quincy ready to take a chance in the ring. >> i'm going to take a chance, boxer from philly. jessie heart, 16 and zero. we want to go, are you ready? >> are you ready?
7:27 am
>> ready little bit. >> he's going to take more after chance. thank you. >> no chance day. oh, look at this now. now we have better shot from skyfox. and bob will give you the latest update. we just got some new in in the last 30 seconds. will bring it to you in the next 30 seconds. a part of what standardized
7:28 am
tests don't measure, very frankly, they don't measure the diligence, the potential passion of a student. so it's really a measure of how adept you are to working out a problem quickly. but what if you're brilliant and it might take you twenty minutes, but you can figure out something, if you were just given time to do it and show real brilliance. is that a real measure of ability and intelligence? what you can do in one minute on a problem? get out of here.
7:30 am
>> first, we have big problems on our hands under, well, very close to 30th street station, bob? >> let's go upstairs. live look from skyfox, kind of peaking through the tunnel here an accident involving overturned vehicle, on the schuylkill. looking live, westbound, in the tunnels, under 30th street station. see the firefighters on the scene? okay, and then that school bus there, is the first vehicle honed the actual crash. right now all westbound lanes of the schuylkill are closed. going to my traffic camera if we could. >> that shows the actual accident scene in the tunnel here so again looking, folks looking toward us here, there is the overturned vehicle, there is the school bus that we just showed you from the chopper, so again, all
7:31 am
westbound lanes traffic so back up, they had to bring the emergency vehicles up the opposite side. >> firefighters on the scene, all lanes block on the westbound side, and what makes this tight right now, is that it is in the tunnel under 30th street. there is no shoulder, and we are jammo on both sides now, of that accident scene. so, here is a couple of alternates for you. if you are coming in from south jersey over the walt whitman, trying to get in toward the city, no go on the schuylkill. stick with 995. ninety-five, will put you on to the vine street expressway, can kind of come in the back side there, of center city, however use be the eastbound schuylkill expressway, because only one lane in the tub they will, we are jammo already, from city line on n so use the kelly drive or martin luther king drive to get into downtown, again, the suing closed eastbound, one lane, so
7:32 am
try the alternate thereby all means, and the penn relays are taking place at franklin field. a lot of the folks stuck in this traffic jam, obviously, not familiar with the schuylkill, going to the penn relays, something usually not on the schuylkill at this hour. so, it is a parking lot with extra volume, exiting in university. and that's going to be the case for most of the day. mike, alex, back over to you. >> i think i'm take it first. please, just pretend i'm not here and it is fine. six on scale of one to ten, mainly dry, sunshine today, it will be windy and colder, as we go through today. certainly chill in the air. this is not really feeling like late april l not this afternoon, butts stop budd which his winter coat on, temperatures only in the 30's, 409's. 43 degrees outside in philadelphia it, will at least be a brighter day no rage like the thunderstorms we had yesterday afternoon. just 54 for the high temperature dollars today, jacket weather, wind gusting
7:33 am
over 30 miles an hour, will feel pretty cool. outside will feel like in the 40's all day. 37 degrees for the low temperature tonight, parts of the area under freeze watches, warnings, we'll have the very chilly seven day forecast still ahead. >> no more boys will be boys, no more he just as a temper. >> no more. >> i'll say something next time. >> no more. she seems fine to me. >> no more. she never said no. >> no more it is just a woman's issue. >> we know the last guy, eagles long snapper con, taking stand against domestic violence saying no more. trying to raise awareness and money for victims and survivors of domestic violence through the second annual passalong hope campaign. >> of course john has a personal story that we all know b john, good to see you again. >> thanks for having me. >> the reason why outwent get so involved in this campaign, is because of what happened to you when were you 12 years old? >> yes. you know, i was a victim of
7:34 am
it, as well, i guess all of the people that suffer from it are also victims n my house, there wasn't a lot of violence, there wasn't a lot of verbal abuse, there wasn't really that we could see, so it is casino every like one of those issues you never know, something a lot of people hide it, a a lot of people don't. >> we have a picture of your mom. >> and you? >> my inspirational life. when i was 12, my dad murdered my mom. the eagles came, when i signed with the eagles, i got in the ffl, created? platform, funny how life throws you curve balls, life gives you opportunities. so what i'm fraud say is this campaign has been going on for ten years, verizon wire letters and eagles, doing something for domestic violence, not just knee jerk reaction to what is going on recently, honor to be part of t it is really cool. verizon wireless will donate a dollar for every hashtag. >> hear tag. >> you can follow at eagles, you can follow at shelton fill how represent the verizon week
7:35 am
until tri-state area. and so it is eagles vz for verizon. >> w. >> and then hope. >> it is east. >> i they can just tweet use that. >> every re tweet original tweet they give a buck. also used phone, bring it to a verizon wireless store, not only do they donate money for the phone, but then try and refer wish the phone and give it to victims of domestic violence so they have a life line. >> in fact just news again yesterday, that one of the dallas cowboys, what's his name? >> gregg hard. >> i gregg hardy. i won't play for ten games, suspended by the commissioner. so it seems as if the nfl is even stepping up even more than they have over the past ten years? >> i don't know. i think because it is the nfl it gets magnified. but reality is this issue is everywhere, every home. >> every place. >> you hope not every home. >> well, everybody i think that has been touched by it.
7:36 am
>> absolutely. if we haven't experienced we probably know somebody that has. like i said, help the cause. >> the least you can do, tweet something, hashtag of eagles vzw hope, then create awareness, the greatest thing. >> someone who has experience, so many people they like to say maybe this happened to me but i want to keep this private watch made you want to come out and tell people about your story in. >> you know, part of it was forgiveness. part i had to forgive myself to forgive my father. >> why forgive yourself. >> i had guilt that my mom would be looking down and in a bad way if i forgive my dad, that i would be letting her down. so toyed get past that. and i think in my early to's i did. and so when was able to get forgiveness in, that i was able to move on, start doing positive things, start realize that it happens all over the place. i mean just here i get contacted all the people from people who suffer from the same thing, whether the mother, the father, the father that murdered the mother, or
7:37 am
whether it is a parent murdering the children: terrible. >> your case, were there signs in the family that this was going to lead to up that? >> not for me. >> you were so young. >> my mom work at the school, we were the brady bunch family. slow were no signs. so this can, you know, it is interesting, because domestic violence can be something ongoing over time it, can be something where, you know, at different points in your life stress adds up. >> one of the individual just pops, does the unthinkable, you know? so, you know, you ask why speak out? i was put on the spot from the ffl, put on platform that can create awareness on global scale. so, you know, i have always thought what bigger honor is there than to passalong what my mom meant to me and than to create awareness and to help the kids that also suffer from this. >> good for you. >> now i got a picture on fox
7:38 am
with my mom and i, which is really cool. and verizon wireless has stepped up, eagles have stepped up. that is honor to be a part of the organization. >> let's do it, eagles vzw hope. get it up. get it going. >> let's do it. >> going to practice today? >> yes. >> rocking and rolling, 8:00. great to be back. >> i bet. >> back in the group, been off for little bit. casino every like the first day of school. everybody has their haircut, new shoes, and -- >> i like the new do by the way. >> it is short. part of it, too, starting to really thin, so kinds of figuring oh, let's just short ten down little bit. >> john, good to see you. >> great seeing you. >> pleasure. >> 7:38ment now. well, it is that time of year. a lot of high school seniors getting ready to get pretty excited. they got the news, oh, i get to go to college, yes, i got accepted. but few hundred teens who applied to drexel got that letter, by mistake. what the school is saying about it, this morning. can you imagine? >> few hundred of them.
7:42 am
>> the draft one week from today, there are all every these eagles fans want that oregon quarterback to come here. he has a statue made out of meat we want to show you, look at it. we'll show you the whole thing in just a second, but first, alex has never seen you do magic. >> i hear you are quite the magician. >> whatever your he can pegs takes, cut it in half. >> all right. >> just say stop. >> stop. >> whatever this is, i don't care, we will show the camera, you guys can see this. >> i can see it. >> you. >> got it? here's what we do. rip a corner off. >> this way. >> okay. >> that's a big corner. >> watch the corner. >> and that's when that corner goes, so we make the corner disappear. >> what? >> this is what's really cool. >> see your phone? >> yes. >> don't touch it. >> don't touch it? >> underneath your phone, pick it up, there is acorn. >> is there? >> no? >> how about that phone over there? >> oh, wait inside the case.
7:43 am
