man described as unstable. this is in north philadelphia overnight. officer was cut on his head but is expect to be okay, cording to the septa spokesperson the the officer was closing the broad and glenn wide avenue station when confrontation happened, but situation was quickly brought under control. and 7:06. happening today a congressional hearing will focus on safety technology that will slow down speeding trains. >> you know what this is all about, lawmakers want to know why this technology was not in place on both side of the track before that deadly amtrak derailment in port richmond. jenny joyce is on the story in port richmond. >> reporter: alex and mike, we do know that the automatic speed controls do exist on the southbound lanes but not in the northbound track is here where the derailment happened, why in that is what congressional leaders want to find out. that theory will begin at 10:00 o'clock this morning when federal safety regulators and amtrak officials relate it to the the speed controls, why weren't they in place in time for last month's derailment. according to the federal

accident investigators amtrak train 188 was traveling at 106 e a derailment on a curve with a speed limit of 50 miles an hour. eight people were killed and about 200 more were injured. for years amtrak used automatic train control technology on its tracks to assure that as trains approach curves they are traveling, at the reduced speed limit. that technology was not installed here, otherwise, ntsb officials say crash would have never happen. decision on where to install this technology was made by a special committee of expert after a speeding amtrak train derailed around a curve in the boston's back bay neighborhood no one was killed in that crash but 450 people were injured. the hearing by the house exception committee comes amid rising concerns about rail safety. there have been seven major passenger and freight train accidents, so far this year. so again this hearing will begin around 10:00 o'clock this morning, alex and mike.

more bushes now in the middle of the maurice river and that is a good sign that there is no homes around here. these people know that this little stream and little river often overflows especially when you get 8 inches of rain like they did here in a couple of hours last night, but boy this thing is really wide compared to the thin strip have of water it normally is, and because it had drought conditions down here for the last couple of months, it has been a barely a trickle of maurice river water. but this is a trout stocked pond so it is a big fishing spot and let's show you some video now, and start the trek out, back when we first cross into atlantic county in the buena area there and we saw some of the drought stricken farmland that was all tried up and they only had 3 inches in two months, and then 8 inches of rain in two hours. you can see the result are. new they are dry farmland, too much rain, not enough ground to soak it all up in and so we have water on top of the

with this kind of a tumor is that it spreads out. so even if you remove the tumor you can still have little cancer cells inside the brain. >> microscopic cells that come back. now, the one thing that i don't understand about this is we are on the the crest have of a wave of new treatments for glioblastomas, there are immuno therapist now where you will take a virus, polio virus or hiv virus, modify it and make it go after those cancer cells using your own immune system, t cells. we are doing projects at penn and at johns-hopkins, and they have had dramatic results. for those of you out there that have this or have a loved one that has it, we are on the verge, in my opinion of a amazing new treatments that will save lives.

let's talk about this situation at philadelphia international airport. a apparently there was a bomb threat. >> police say the threat is not credible, but lets get to jenny joyce, with the chief inspector now, jenny. >> reporter: good morning, alex and mike this was deemed not credible. we did find out it was flight 6488, an american airlines flight that was flying from san diego here in philadelphia join by chief inspector joe sullivan. can you talk about how the threat came in and what it meant and what you guys had to do to determine that it was

safe. >> well, a series of threats, a against multiple flights, that were flying overnight, came into the tsa operations. that information was transmitted to the faa. one of the those flights specifically mentioned this flight 6488, american airlines from san diego to philadelphia the faa toker notified airport operations regarding the threat to that specific flight, just prior or as it was landing here in philadelphia so a decision was made out of of an abundance of caution to remove the plane, carefully remove passengers, put them on buses and then of have members of the philadelphia police bomb squad and k-9 teams from the philadelphia police airport unit go through the plane and luggage and just confirmed that there was no hazards, nothing dangerous, in hazardous materials or devices, which it was done very methodically and very
