back to you guys in the studio. >> all right. stacked and packed with pancakes. short stack. 7:03. >> we have some breaking news. very serious story out of the lawn dale section of the fill a. >> an off-duty detective shot and killed a robbery suspect overnight while the detective stopped by a pizza a shop to get a pizza or stromboli or something, steve is on the scene, steve? >> reporter: that sound familiar to our viewers because they remember officer wilson's death when he was in the game stop, similar situation, a cop at the counter with cash in hand making a purchase and two robbers burst in. that is second time this year two armed guys try to hold up a business with the philadelphia policeman at the front counter buying something. so this one though has the robber killed and the officer saving two workers and himself. this is first time you have seen rising sun pizza had

anybody try to hold him up and for any criminals watching it would be likely the last. these two guys pick the wrong time wrong place and wrong guy to hold up. rising sun pizza a favorite, because many live up here nearby in the north east, many eat here. it has great food. they have great hours for cops. stays opened until midnight at the earliest, at weeknights and even 1:00 a.m. on the weekend. cops are coming in after that second shift, after a hungry hard working police officer finally gets sometime to eat at the end of the shift, one detective from northwest division in the city of broad and champlost comes here for take out. it is 11:30. parks right out front. he is in plainclothes. places his order for stromboli. while in the after even cooking he is only customer inside. two armed robbers pull out a gun and hold up the place. first holding up the detective taking that 20-dollar bill he had to pay for his order and then ordering him face down on the ground.

he complied, does exact hi as he is told ape just waits, well, train, well thought. when they turn their attention to the robber in the cash register the detective get up and gets out of the way as gunman start firing. bullet hold are through the glass and a bullet in the wall as they fired at the the cop. he fires back. they missed. he didn't miss. >> the off tooth i detective pulls his weapon, identified himself as a police officer and then there was a gun battle. the perpetrator fired at least two shots at the detective and a the the detective returned fire. both of the suspect then fled from the front door of the pizza shop. one the of the suspects, dropped a loaded handgun a revolver, just before exiting the front door of the pizza

shop. >> the one suspect then made a right turn, and ran through the parking lot of the pizza shop where he collapsed. he was pronounced dead at 11:40 p.m., by medics. well, crime scene unit may have pick up fingerprints, left by the still at large accomplice since no one came into that door customer wise since those two robbers. as we come back to the picture you can see outside surveillance camera pointing in the exact spot, where the dead robber collapsed and the other one got away. they have outside camera, and inside cameras, the whole thing caught on close-up high definition solve lance video hope to get a clear pictures of the accomplice to show the the way to show the press and public later to help catch him. at this case clearly shows even after working a grueling night shift on duty that a copies never really off-duty even when just trying to grab a good italian take out meal

kidnapping, and brutal assault of the center city jeweler's row worker, a woman, and for the the attempted robbery of the national watch and diamond exchange, in olde city, back in april. >> the victim suffered but survived a brutal horrific assault. she was stunned repeatedly with a taser and thrown of the out abductor's van. they now join their alleged accomplice khiry gay in federal custody. >> investigators say that the two member, will appear in federal court this afternoon to face these charges. and the delaware county district attorney's office is taking over the investigation in the death of the man allegedly run over by a chester city police cruiser. >> thinks an incident that happened on wednesday evening, right at the intersection of 13th and keystone. now chester police say they were chasing the suspect, a 25 year-old man, who allegedly stole a woman's cell phone and money at gunpoint. family members identified the
