another hit and run. police are looking for a drive who struck and killed a new jersey teenager. karen. >> what happened here. a police officer in texas is under investigation for that. that is a young girl on the ground. that was a whole heartly gets out of control what happens moments before he tackled that teenager and then pulls out his gun on her. and we have a tough choice here, triple crown winner, american pharoah's owners, they say that they may let the the horse, race again. why that choice could put millions of dollars at risk. instead of just, headed out to stud. so good morning everybody. >> yes. >> they want the the fans to get to see the horse race.

once or twice. otherwise, we're starting to see the beginning of the rush hour. southbound on i-95 stacked up from academy into cottman. that is work zone number one. then we're jammed up into work zone number two at girard avenue. slow go out of the town on the schuylkill here from montgomery out to city line. coming in from south jersey, a lot of folks like to stay at the shore an extra night and come back to the beach with the office with some sand in your shoe. forty-two heavy from the ac express waste in through 55. tacony palmyra still on the slow down from an earlier opening and mass transit looking great. mike and karen, back over to you. a philadelphia woman is in critical condition right now after police say horrifyingly she was shot in the face. >> woman was shot at point blank range, after opening up her front door in north philadelphia. this happened along 4100 block of north franklin street when the woman, apparently in her 20's, came to the front door around 4:00 this morning. police are looking for two men that took off from the home

after the shooting. and at least two other people were in the house, during that shooting. and they are being interviewed, by police right now. so police don't know if the shooter was a stranger to the woman or if she was targeted, on purpose. police are trying to find out who shot at cars this south philadelphia. three cars. >> yeah, three around the 1800 block have of south fourth street. fortunately nobody was hurt. police are now searching for a man that the neighbors say, he was running from the scene after he heard the shots. 7:04. two people are under arrest accused of vandalizing a building under construction in center city. you know this building. it happened near broad and arch streets. police say two men broke in the building and then started throwing things out of the windows on to the street. they were arrested, soon afterwards. 7:05. this is a tragedy. teenager struck and killed

when he was out there riding his bike. >> philadelphia police believe the driver of the vehicle was drunk. it happened just after 7:00 on the 600 block of cayuga street in hunting park. police say a 28 year-old driver ran a red light and then hit this 17 year-old boy who was riding his bicycle. witnesses rush over to help. >> did cpr, and tried to give him c pr and i'm worried right now. >> the teen died at the hospital. >> unidentified driver was taken into custody and facing many, many charges. and then in another similar case we have a teenager that ace alive who was also struck. this was in south jersey. we know the teenager is in critical condition after he was struck by a driver on a skateboard, and in this case, the driver didn't stop. >> yeah, the teenager was riding a skateboard after resting his girlfriend, right. steve is on this story in pens ville. >> reporter: well, this young man also, 17, and pennsville

police chief thinks this might be a case of drunk driving and that is why the driver took off. he says often in incidents like this they don't come forward to avoid drunk driving charges. pennsville not in the news much but we are deep down, i-95, south of wilmington and right across the delaware river from new castle here in deep south jersey, and pennsville police, as we go to our video from over the weekend you can see them spray painting circles around the investigation, where the 17 year-old's keys were found, his sneakers, his hat, all of it thrown far from where the impact happened, these circles spray painted a hundred feet or more, from where the impact happened, and, they marked that, and that is a spot where they found something that told them the make and model of the car. that was a windshield wiper motor that told them it was a hyundai east land that that hit kyle pszenny and police figured he was hit from behind, on hook road here. there are big signs for it. it runs straight to the

delaware memorial bridge. this driver could be from any of the three states in our area. speed limit on hook road 50 miles an hour. this happened at 2:00 a.m. after kyle visited his girlfriend and on his way home. his critical condition is being updated by his family on facebook and by the coaches. they are at his bed site. he is eight and a half miles across the river at christiana hospital in newark. still listed as critical. his classmates and whole community is behind him 100 percent wearing blue and gold, the the school colors today. >> he is a grade a kid, ideal student. works hard. very committed to what he does as far as in school. he has been recently working two jobs, working hard, hard working kid, great kid. >> we have confidence in our local authorities that we will track this guy down, or guy, guy, girl, whoever did this, because nobody deserves such a treatment. >> reporter: here's the high school athletic facebook and twitter page.

they are asking classmates to come in school colors to show support for kyle. see his number seven with hash tag kyle strong on it. we will head over to the high will school that starts at 7:40 and we will give you a look at kid there all showing support for kyle at the high school at 8:00 o'clock. mike and karen. >> we will check out the high school. philadelphia city council member license introducing a bill spark by the the disappearance of the local college student. >> the legislation would require places, such as bars, nightclubs, to place surveillance camera outside of them. of course, many of them already have them this would be mandatory then. hi jenny in manayunk. >> reporter: hi, mike and karen. >> this hearing will be held at 1:00 to explore idea of mandated cameras outside of bars and restaurants in general to promote public safety but it comes as a result of the disappearance and death of the 21 year-old shane montgomery. college student went missing after a night of drinking with friend last november. he was last seen leaving

kildare's irish pub in main street in manayunk. then for weeks search parties of friend, family members and investigators comb the area for clues. young man's body was pulled from the schuylkill river in january. the new bill introduce by councilman curtis jones would require at least one outside camera at all bars and restaurants anyplace that has a liquor license. we talked to jones when he first develop the legislation earlier this year. we also talk to a general manager of rotten ralph's in center city about the proposed legislation. he thinks that bars should have cameras but he doesn't think it should be mandatory. >> i have an interest in those establishments that sell alcohol. whether it is a fine restaurant, fine dining or stop and go in the neighborhood, there is a correlation between the consumption have of the alcohol and other narcotics and commission of of crimes. >> he is trying to make people responsible for things they might not be responsible for.

and most bars have cameras outside, regardless, for their own protection, sidewalks, their tables, and anything could happen with their customers, and if enough bars do that then the whole place is pretty much protected. >> reporter: shane montgomery's family approached councilman jones about this idea. while they don't think cameras would have saved their son's life they think the extra eyes would have shortened the agonizing weeks of searching. city has a program in place to reimburse businesses up to 50 per event some of the camera system that cost about $3,000, and again, today's hearing will be beginning at 1:00. they will begin talking about that issue. >> interesting part of the story that the city provides 50 percent of the cost of the surveillance equipment. >> we will see what happens. later today. 7:10. trial starts for a delaware family tied to the murder of two women. len nor matusiewicz, her son

david, and her daughter amy accused of stalking david's ex-wife and her friend, 29 women were shot and killed by david's father, thomas matusiewicz outside a wilmington courthouse in february of 2013. thomas then killed himself, after a quick gun battle with police. david is already serving six months in jail for his role in the shooting but could face more time if convicted of stalking as well. and a driver in delaware county slams into the side of the bar and then drives away. the crash was seen here, right here, early saturday morning outside of mike johnny's sports bar, in darby boro. a a few minutes after the crash, look at that, the driver and two passengers get back in the car and then leave. the impact from the crash ripped a hole through the property and the bar is now closed so it can determine fit is safe. bar's owner hopes police can track down the driver soon. >> all you have to does come in and be fair and honest and

let me know that you had an accident and either on my parking lot that something has happened there are just to let me know, is hey, anybody hurt. they made sure nobody was hurt. >> but will insurance cover this? um. the bar could be closed for at least a month costing thousands of dollars in profit, of course, for the owner there. new jersey governor chris christie continues, to decide step questions about his political future. so yesterday he said he will decide this month whether or not to enter the crowded race for 2016 republican nomination for the presidency of the united states. he says we will find out, soon, in the meantime, the governor said he is focusing on the job, that he does now have. >> i have got a day job too you know. i've got to work on making sure our budget gets passed in new jersey and dot things that we need to do, that the legislature conclude their session on june 30th.

pipes this was not easily accomplished. >> they have a hundred thousand dollars reward so far, because what did you say, one of them killed a police officer. >> shot 22 times. >> and the other guy killed someone and dismembered their body bad dudes like you said. state police are following up on more than 150 leads so far but won't comment on their exact tactics of course. things got out offhanded in north jersey when police refused to allow anybody through gates of the big concert. it happened outside of met life stadium. police say they block the gate after people tried climbing over fences, enforcing themselves through the security checkpoint at last night hot 97 summer jam. they do this every summer. unfortunately that men pete who spent hundred and even thousands of dollars on these good ticket weren't allowed inside. radio station said they will refund any unscanned tickets. police have not said how

our outlook. severe, weather outlook, that the storm prediction center puts out every day. we are at in the slight wrist income our area and out to the west and north marginal risk every where you see here in green. future cast shows the timing of these storms. is there area to the north and west, that goes a away by about noon, and then we will see some strong storms. we will get that build up of heat and humidity, and then they will start firing up at 4:00 o'clock to the west and with a cold front coming through and for allentown, we will get another round by five or 6:00. we will see storms, dark orange and the red there, that is, an indication of a possibility of pop up then are storms. some of these could be strong to severe. maybe moving through the philadelphia area around seven or 8:00 o'clock. thinks rough timing here. just keep an eye on the sky later on in the day. we will see them moving toward our shore points after 8:00 o'clock tonight but that is not it. it looks like after midnight we will be dealing with some

scattered showers and rain and thunderstorms. not as much as in the afternoon and evening but maybe about eight or nine or 10:00 o'clock tomorrow morning. another round moves through. and then, that should be it, maybe about after lunchtime for the rest of the day but some unsettled weather for sure on the way today and tomorrow, so enjoy the sunshine. while it is here. 54 degrees in mount pocono. sixty-five in philadelphia reading has 61. sixty-two in dover. 64 degrees in wildwood. i is out of the southwest. we have a 9-mile an her breeze. pretty nice this morning. breezes help. 12 miles an hour in wilmington and wildwood. over the the past seven days we have seen our ups and downs. the down was last tuesday, 58 degrees. do you remember last monday a week ago we had a lot of thunderstorms and then got chilly. so temperature slowly rise all the waste through saturday, 81 . we got a few thunderstorms. not everyone got one on saturday. 77 degrees was the delightful high yesterday.

see the police corporal eric casebolt pin down that 15 year-old girl mike mentioned and then kind of the weird parties she's just wearing a swimsuit while being held down by that overs. >> he grabbed me, and he like twisted my arm, so on the back of my back. and he shoved me in the grass. he started pulling back on my braid. i was telling him that he can get off me because mike bay back hurting really bad good you just saw for yourself. witnesses say police used excessive force, some of the neighbors say, however the that the officers did the right thing. now the mother of the girl shown in that video is calling for corporal casebolt to be fired. this incident is now under investigation. mike, as you said, as lou at that video, it will spark conversation. >> here's the thing, it is seven and a half minutes long. you have to watch the whole thing. another police officer has situation under control and this guy goes off yanking his
