7:10 am
enough for somebody to recognize him. and at least, if not recognizing him, be on the look-out, light around the same time, couple of hours, and the other close by along the "l" train tracks there at that station. maybe he's a daily commuter, too, like so many others, 4700 a day, use that same station, police will be back there around the same time in extra numbers looking out for this guy, too, and you can bet the staffers who witness this attack yesterday, from the fair boots, the two ladies working in there, the cashiers, saw this, and called it in, as the woman being attacked ran to the closed by area of frankford hospital, to get taken care of in the emergency room. >> a woman was about to board the market frankford "el" at the margaret station. as she approached the fair line, a mangan speaking to her. an argument ensued. the man punched her. she does not know that man. had never seen him before. she defended herself, fought
7:11 am
back, at which point the man drew a razor and cut her on her forearm. she received about a five-inch gash. the man ran down on to the street level, and he is still being sought. >> it is a black male, looks like 20's, with a back pack, medium build. >> chief says specifically not showing all of the video evidence, or even talking about it, which kind of tells you they likely have the attack itself captured on surveillance, and always points out in stories like there is the septa system is very, very safe. we highlight the very few instances where it doesn't appear safe, because of the surveillance video. and he'll be first to tell you, and i will be second, that they have surveillance video of somebody helping somebody up the steps, or somebody saying hey, buddy, you left your cell phone on the seat, let me return that, or your wallet. we wouldn't be out here
7:12 am
leading the newscast with it. >> that's for sure. steve, now we got to go to similar, thank you, to similar story. instead of waiting on a rail, you know, a rail car more like 3:00 she will also trying to go to work waiting on a bus in the middle of the night. she got attack. >> yes. a man drag her, sexually assaulted her. >> here are the details. >> good morning, that man still at large, police looking for him. we don't have that strong after deaths corruption, however, they are going through surveillance video, hoping that will provide some additional clues. if happened 3:00 in the area of six ' and dick streets, in southwest philadelphia. a 22 year old woman, was waiting for a bus, when police say a manna poached her, place add object to the woman's head being drag her to the rear of the driveway.
7:13 am
robbed the woman of her wallet and sexually assaulted: people in the neighborhood didn't hear anything but say it is scar toy think this happened right outside their homes while they were asleep. >> that's too close. that's right in our backyard. that's in the yard, in the yard. and i heard nothing. we heard nothing in the house. >> it is a tragedy. >> you have been that young, at that time in the morning, you got to be so careful. at least bring someone with you until you get the bus. >> once you get on the bus, you can go home. >> it is sad, messed up. people earning a living, trying to go to work, that time of day. sad. nobody should have this specially where they live at. >> some good advice, travel in pairs when you can, especially in the middle of the night. police still looking for the man who commit in the assault, described as tall large man in his 20's, 30's, with a light complexion and slight facial

7:34 am
happened last night, in the pew, sat in a church, talk to women, and then stood upstart dollars shooting. you had your own bible study here around the same time. what's it make you feel like? >> well, i mean, you know, you always have to i guess be conscious of your surroundings, and who is there, and how people are acting. there is no telling. i mean, pay aren't i waist not act nag strange casino of way, but, you know, churches are open places which makes them so vulnerable. we don't say you can't come in, by and large, doing social security that would give us reason, everyone is welcome. so, just really just expose how vulnerable we rawle. >> never makes you feel like when now church this is safe place for so many people that you have to be on guard. >> yes, i mean, you know, ends of the day, we preach, believe in fate and trust. and, you know, things sometimes just happen that seem as though, you know, no one is in control. but, you know, i take comfort in the fact that the name of the church is emanuel, god with us, and that even in the midst of the tragedy we have
7:35 am
to hole onto that. i tell you, my heart is broken, i knew reverend very well, and so i've lost a friend, and i and i continue too from shock to, you know, to crying, to trying to think about my own congregation, and when to say to them. so there is just a wave of emotions, but i think through it all, again, i'm comforted at least to be able to hold onto that, that god is with us. >> in the midst of all of this with your heavy heart, you still have to think about security, top priority for you here, just nine months ago, you guys had an incident at this church in. >> minor break-in. i mean, the people who came in, they were really definition every petty thieves, you know, there in this building, with all that they could have taken, just just rum and dollars through, took very small things, really gave us serious concern about security, so we went through major overhaul and upgrade, very confident that this build something secure right now. but, you know, again, the world that we live in, really demonstrate no matter how secure you are, you just never know. so, ultimately, again, we really have to place our trust in something that is bigger
7:36 am
than all of it. >> knowing were you in a bible study of your own last night, you lost a friends in all of. >> this how does this change moving forward what you do here or what your message is or how you carry the church and security, how things happen here? >> so we were actually, our bible study different night, did have church meeting here late last night. so we have a security protocol on how we let people in the building. and again, we're always casino every conscious of people that we don't know. and so we have a protocol today will be reviewing that protocol. we will be going back over with our security person to make sure that what we have done is sufficient. and i think this gives everyone pause, you know, no church is safe for some reason some people just see it as a symbolic target. >> without being too knows i and in your business, i know you have been on the phone taking phonecalls. what's everyone's feeling today i guess right now after this happened? >> ame church is like a family, began in this
