of the lanes open. they are working as fast as they can to get the power up for so many of you that have been affected. we have the shelters open right now, the one at ppl, will not open until 11:00 but some overnight, brookhaven borough hall and also over at the high school, looking at folks overnight there, fair number of people, who slept there, because they were just worried about the temperatures, not having the power, maybe they have children, and that is casino every scenario, as women. so, it is hard to believe actually how much damage there is here, mike, alec, really startling. back to you guys. >> really is. >> good morning, steve, over in moorestown. >> here is the problem, you can have fully charged phone like i had, especially when i

was in washington township yesterday, you got no phone signal. so fully charged phone doesn't always help you unless you're going to drive somewhere else. because with the power down, the cell towers down, and nobody can use their cell phones. it is nothing but frustration, in these storms, these modern times. mike as you said yesterday, a lot of people don't have land lines any more. so, even if you had a land line, and the phone lines were working maybe that would help up. tough even finding help in. >> this so we're here in moorestown where the power is back on. but, it was off, 280,000 customers, of atlantic electric alone. >> to the video, life still at stand still. frustration, as high as the summer temperatures, and the damage estimates, from rowan university, to the motor vehicle offices and most of the gas stations everything in blahs gloucester county still closed because power is still out.

>> when they get the ice, it runs out quick, more frustrated. add the to the damage to the homes and cars is the loss of all of the refrigerated foods without the ice, nothing cold to drink, in this mid-day heat. the question everybody's asking us, whenever we show up, and someone answered when will the power come back on? >> no power again told two days to a week until we get power back, lines cut off all around the neighborhood. so until they get to it, we're not going have anything. >> took the lines down. took my service cable all the way back to my meter. so i had to put new meter in this morning. and, you know, waiting for electric company. >> crazy, trash crans through the air, trees uprooting, power lines down, literally watch the black horse pike go off light by light by light.

prison worker arrested, massive manhunt continues for an escaped new york inmate. officer jean palmer charged with tampering with evidence, as well as officials misconduct. the 57 year old accused of helping richard matt and david sweat, break out of the clinton correctional facility on june 6th. >> also suffering legal troubles, said she hid hacksaw inside cell b, frozen meat, used to what to cut through the cell. >> what happened in the old days of sneaking things in in cakes? now going to meat? >> ya. >> well, police are focusing on 75 square mile area around the new york state prison, hoping to find the convicted killers. >> maybe worried about their weight. 7:13. >> defense will open their case to the in the trial. what's the defense going to do? defense attorneys say they'll focus on mental illness, james holmes has pleaded not guilty in the case by reason every insanity. twelve people were killed, 70

help with you that one. >> wow. what about going inside the house though? a lot of people are complaining my gosh, my frig, having to clean it out. we can get covered for that? >> alec, good question. most homeowners policies have inclusions that food spoil and, for example, after a certain deductible, usually $100, if your power is out, one of the poor folks that has no power, and you have lost the refrigerator worth of food you can claim that against your policy, for example, alex, if you can't live in your home, say it is just uninhabitable, not safe, you want to get out of the home, if you need temporary housing, most insurance policies will cover that, as women, then you also, alex, have coverage for the content of your home, you know, your art, your jewelry things like, that again, up to certain limits, though, and that's all in the policy. >> we've seen a lot of treason cars. would that be car insurance or my home insurance? >> and i have some personal experience, daughter number two driving down the street not too far from here, boom,

tree comes down, ruins our beloved subaruu. daughter fine by the way. here is the deal with the cars, mike. you will always go to your car policy, not your homeowners political i say your cars in the garage, tree falls, you know, in the driveway, tree falls on it, if your car is damaged that's going to go through your auto policy. that's the good news, bad news, mike, alex, if you don't have comprehensive or collision insurance, on that car, doesn't matter if it is re damaged, you're probably out of luck, guys. >> one thing always a problem is water damage. >> here is the deal with water damage, we make it easy for folks this morning, if you have water damage, say this house behind us, say, for example, the roof was damaged by this tree, the water came in and damaged the content, you will be covered. but say a flood, chances are you wouldn't be covered because flood insurance is almost always a separate

today, looks pretty good. sun to clouds, during the day, then tomorrow, high of 82, some sunshine, occasional showers, 72 degrees, our high on saturday, with on and off rain, clouds and showers, on sunday, possible, as well, especially early part of the day with a high of 75. now, it won't be raining every minute, but the rain will be around, have the poncho or rain gear with you, and don't miss those tall ships. they don't come around very often. satellite radar picture showing hardly a cloud in the sky. but there is quite a bit of rain in indianna, starting to edge in to ohio. when will it arrive here? here is the future cast to tell you, by about 7:00, 8:00 this evening, is our early estimate. and then, by midnight, still some showers around, so now we move into friday morning, just spotty showers, for the morning rush. and few more through lunchtime. but, there will be some sunshine inbetween friday. unlike saturday, when we really expect to be pretty much sock in with clouds, for a good portion of the day,
