update. >> hi, i'm dawn timmeney from fox 29 with a look at what's making headlines. the faa investigating why a single engine plane crashed into the ocean off atlantic city. coast guard and new jersey state police looking for debris about 20 miles southeast of atlantic city. authorities say the aircraft was a plane headed from gaylord to atlantic city airport. one person was reportedly on board when it went down this afternoon. also making news a guilty plea from a man caught on surveillance video kidnapping a woman right off a philadelphia street. 38-year-old delvin barnes admit he forced carlesha free land gaither into his car last november. barnes faces 35 years in prison. virginia prosecutors say he also kidnapped, sexually assaulted and tried to kill a teenager there a month before barnes was abducted. scott williams now with a look at your forecast. >> it has been damp and dreary for your thursday across the area, dawn. we need the rainfall but we

saw major flood problems across parts of the area simply because of this. take a look at some of the rainfall estimates around philadelphia moving south around chester and then moving into sections of camden and gloucester counties. we're talking anywhere from three to almost 4-inches of rainfall causing ponding as well as runoff. take a look at the situation just south of dover as we move to kent county you can see around rising sun, here's highway 13, almost 5-inches of rainfall, so once again, we saw a soaking across the area for your thursday. one to 3 inches on average but once again higher amounts, over 4-inchs in some spots that caused localized flooding but the good news, cooler temperatures in the wake of that system bringing all of the beneficial rainfall across our area. so, as we go hour by hour, still a couple of leftover downpours across the area that will continue lifting off to the north and east. so, watch the temperatures overnight. not own dollar we start to dry

out but we cool down a bit and that humidity will slowly but surely start to improve as well as we move towards your friday morning. still looking at cloud cover across the area, muggy conditions but then that humidity will be dropping. so, the heat wave, it is officially over. highs only made it into the low 80's for your thursday. so, once again, overnight we're looking at mild and muggy conditions, leftover clouds, but with that northerly wind the humidity will start to decrease, especially during the day tomorrow. so, that friday forecast, drying out, 84 degrees. then another chance for some rain for a part of the weekend. sue will update that at 4 a.m. dawn. >> thank you, scott. and that's it for tonight's fox 29 news update. remember to watch the fox 29 morning news starting at 4 a.m. followed by "good day" philadelphia. we'll see you then. have a good one.
