>> this morning "fox29 weekend" we're a week away. the pope is flying from vatican to cuba and here in philadelphia the last-minute prep is underway today that means proceed closures to streets you want to avoid. >> and suspectsed arizona interstate shooter caught. why police say they're not celebrating just yet. >> and a local mother takes on her son on facebook in a video that has gone viral. >> i know that you know my phone number because i pounded that into your head because i was always so worried about you getting lost or stolen. >> all she wants is for her son to call. did he ever do. it we ask her. here live. >> and good morning and thank you so much for joining is us
8:01 am
on this glorious day. it's a little foggy out there. we'll get through all of that. hopefully it will burn off. good morning bill bill. anderson.mon >> that could be you. >> it could be three sons will they call me? we'll have that live. there were so many walks and event happening where did everybody go, dave warn. >> they're out there. you can start to make out buildings there in philadelphia. some visibility is way down this morning. that shot of center city tells the story. that's what's happening this morning. we have low clouds and volume it's slowly burning off. temperatures, 69 degrees. mild, dew point is at 66. and that is still muggy outsid outside. a little humid and we'll have to deal with that humidity for one more day. but relief is in the forecast. now, these numbers this morning a little cooler. north and west, but not all that different from the city to suburbs about five or 10 degrees and 60 allentown and it does drop to -- up to 61
8:02 am
doylestown and was down to 59 last hour and to the south we have temperatures to mid to low 60s. these visibility numbers i'm about to show you they'll start to climb. lower visibility north and west. less than a quarter mile here. dense fog will start to burn off shortly and what does that mean for temperatures. look at numbers in the 7 day forecast. coming up. >> sounds great thank you so much dave. it's 8:02 a week away from the pope's visit right now. the pope is on his way to cuba for the first part of his wee week-long tour to the north american region. pope francis sent out this tweet on friday i ask you to join me in praying for my trip to cuba and united states. i need your prayers. the pope left for cuba this morning. we have video of him boarding the plane to our direction arriving in havana this afternoon and holding masss in different cities tomorrow, monday and tuesday before traveling to washington d.c. and then headed to new york and then of course, right here to our neck of the woods,
8:03 am
philadelphia next weekend. so the preparations for pope have been underway for weeks today even more changes. let's get to the parkway with sabina. >> good morning sabina. >> good morning, karen. all this buildup. you can believe it's one week away. so it's winding down and things are ramping up on the parkway of the stage is fearly set for festival of families and with that, of course, comes the road and parking restrictions and officials have been warning about. now the parkway inner drives have been closed to traffic since thursday afternoon. that's where you see the stage and materials all lined up really there's no way to get through. outer lanes would be closed 6:00 this morning we're told and so far it looks like traffic is still getting through. so we'll see exactly when all of that take place. now we started to see no parking signs with the dates and times going up around the city and in fact, i noticed them just in front of our station on market street this morning. now as far as towing if you
8:04 am
don't have a valid parking pass from the city that begins in the security perimeter and secure vehicle perimeter tomorrow night if you don't have the placard your car to be towed. if you have it you have more time until nurse thursday. parking from art museum to 12 street starts 6:00 tomorrow the no citizens bank parking rather and tuesday no parking starts in other security perimeter the one around independence hall 12 to 3 street. takes lot to remember. make sure you're pass is valid if you have a car in the city this week. there are highway closures friday night. if you commute in and out of city and park in a garage you don't have to worry until friday night the major highway closures go into he ekt infect, schuylkill, vip, turnpike. we have that for to you look it up and know how you get around the city this week. as far as stage i want to take it back out here live. you can see how huge it is out here along the parkway. we'll get a preview later this
8:05 am
morning. more on that coming up, guys. >> thanks so much sabina. it's interesting we've been talking about it for a while and the excitement is growing all over town and it's hard to ev mr. the holy father visit to the city is one week away. and the energy is growing on social media and campbell wrote i'm super stoked pope francis is coming to america i'm not going to see him i'm really, really happy. david wrote wow it's almost time for the pope to come i'm so excited said no philadelphian ever. sarcasm coming out. joining us ken gave infrom the archdioceses of philadelphia. >> thank you. >> good morning. >> you heard the social media back and forth. there's a lot of xhitment. there's some concern. where are we in the final preparations stage. >> final preparations at this point, bill, is really just finishes touches on everything making this event special for city and it will be wonderful. it'ser replaceable moment in history. it's important for all of us to
8:06 am
remember that pope francis said he chose philadelphia and he chose philadelphia the central reason for his visit to the united states of america. it was never something the archdioceses were world meeting activity lobbied for to have world meeting but it came about and it's a wonderful gift. he will be with us and he chose us all regardless of who we are and what walk of life, faith, tradition and excitement we've seen is palpable as well. you see the billed boards on i-95 and banners around the city and world meeting of families magnet on the fridge in the cream room this morning at fox as well. people are excited. there was excitement level when we said pope francis would join us and people began to worry a little there was tension. that's normal. i talked to a lot of people heavily involved in plan foring papal visit in a number of cities there's a natural progress of a lot of excitement and then people start to think about the details and then when you get very close, the excitement you settle in.
8:07 am
>> the concern. >> natural excitement. >> some of the concern has been seemingly lack of communication between the different organizations involved. we saw yesterday the secret service said only about 200 or 300,000 will even fit on parkway. how much of that is a communication gap that is kind of leading to those concerns. >> sure i don't know there's a communication gap there. i won't speak for secret service specifically but if they're looking at an area they're securing on the parkway itself, their numbers they provide are numbers they provide. we always predicated in planning all along. the event happens on the parkway and overflow goes well back beyond and that's normal for any other major event that happens in the city too. so i think the estimate you know put out projected attendance comfortable with those. that overflow research stretches well back beyond city hall and that sort of thing as well. >> it basically is here. this time next week we'll be involved in all of the coverag coverage. what's the the message you want to leave mem with to let them know everything is cool come down we want you here. >> everything is ready and we
8:08 am
want you to be with us. be here. i've been involved with papal events and seen pope francis he has been as close as i am to you, bill, i've been where i seen john paul ii from a half mile away n until you experience live close, far, and the papal parade anybody for an opportunity to get close to pope francis himself. there's something that comes over you it's a peace, grace, charisma you have to see in present and be there. >> i'll be there too. >> we're happy you're here, to too. >> be sure to join us when pope francis comes to philadelphia. as i said, fox 29 will have all day coverage on september 26 and 27 as the holy father makes historic visit to our city. >> we're excited. bill, thank you. 8:08 new this morning two people hurt after this accident it happened olney just after 1:00 this morning and the scene is 5 and west roosevelt boulevard.
8:09 am
one of the cars rolled over and then slammed into a building. the cause of that crash is under investigation. >> and a mother is charged with dui this morning after this crash in university city and officers were called to 33 and market streets around 2:30 a.m. and investigators say the woman's 10-year-old and 2-month-old were both in the car at the time of the crash. and all three were taken to the hospital and so far no word on the injuries. >> and some sad news a positive identification for baby doe out of the boston area now murder charges against her mother and the mother's boyfriend. investigators have spent about three months trying to figure out who that 2-year-old little girl was a dog walker found bella bond in june inside a trash bag in that area near boston harbor. now police believe her mother, 40-year-old row shell bond dumped her there. >> we hoped against hope that her death was not a crime. but the evidence carefully and professionally gathered by the
8:10 am
men and women who worked on this investigation suggest otherwise. this child, whose very name means beauty, was murdered. >> and prosecutors are charging row shell bond's boyfriend, 35-year-old michael mc tammy with murdering bella and row shell is charged with accessory to murder after the fact she deliberately covered up what the boyfriend had done. coming up, computer users beware. basically all of us. there's a new virus that can completely shut down your machine. but this one target a different kind of computer user who really needs to be on the lookout. plus, a cowboy has one two many. he decides it would be dangerous to get behind the wheel and jumps on his horse instead why he still got in wheel and jumps on his horse instead why he still got in trouble with the

strong reporting around this what are your thoughts. >> thank you so much it's been an honor as we look forward to this historic event. >> and you don't have to be a practicing catholic to understand how large this event is. >> no doubt about that. it's so mass every and something that anyone can truly be a part of. >> you felt that in the reporting i imagine. >> i did i have you really learn a lot as well and see how inspirational this is for catholics and non catholics alike. >> everybody is learning as we go along here and recently, our viewer pointed out you had a very small i would say very small mis-step regarding what happened. >> the second parade happens before pope fan sis gives mass on the ben franklin parkway september 27. one of our viewers heard that and she had to write n eileen. please use correct words when talking about the holy father visit to philly your broadcas broadcaster on 10 p.m. news said the pope will make mass. you need to hire a nun to keep
8:16 am
from you poor, inaccurate and down right silly words if roman catholic celebrations. now eileen apparently made a small mistake herself. she said or thought you said make. did you not you said give mass. >> she's absolutely right it's say mass or celebrate mass certainly something learned and we're all learning here. thank four pointing it out and great news here is we have father dan joyce from st. joseph's university will be here guiding us through the coverage rob jennings on saturday. >> now i'm standing with morning anchor team mike andal eric and as you know i'm sure you heard the pope is coming pretty soon. >> he's coming. >> and you have a big role in anchoring this coverage. >> we'll start saturday and be saturday and sunday will be here pretty much all day. >> we'll start 6 a.m. on saturday and go probably twelve straight hours. >> and sunday we're going to come back. we want to cover both passe masses and we'll be in the evening here.
8:17 am
we want to cover festival of families. >> here on the parkway. >> i'm looking forward to it. >> of course it's city of philadelphia. there's an obvious question. >> i know what it is. >> yes do you. >> will you carry on "fox" the eagles jets game. >> i have the answer. >> yes. >> starting 11:00 we'll two to fox nfl sunday two hour show noe now and the game begins 1. now the mass in parkway should start after procession 4:30. come on eagles. blow them away. we need a blowout. >> we do. only break away at the end of the game. so if it doesn't go into over time we're good the mass will be on. nobody told me about that and of course you're encouraging everyone to go. one of our viewers saw mike your recent walk across the ben franklin parkway bridge proof it will be bridge. watch mike dot whole walk. >> he did great when he was talking and walking he didn't sound out of breath. good job, mike, are you fit.
8:18 am
>> thank you, pat. i would up the precipitation on your glasses though. >> and we had to lower the audio for that so you couldn't hear him panting. >> mike is not fit is that what the you're claiming. >> i would never say that. >> but, we are encouraging people yes you should go. if mike can do it anyone can. if you cannot go watch us and stay tuned to fox 9 also fox 29.com we'll be here all day saturday and sunday and we would like to share the experience with you. >> when the pope is out and about so are we. >> we're on it. >> that's it for this edition of fox unfiltered and we're a week away from historic event here in philadelphia and of course, we like to hear from you. so email us and send us your comments as well. i'm jeff cole. >> i'm pretty certain my assignment that day is walking that same bridge and talking to people. so we'll see if i'm in better shape than mike. >> we know that is that the a factor. take a live look outside

pieces snip those out as well they're easy to eliminate and then i take the top piece of shell off and safe all of this inside. this is green here. this is coral which make the sauce delicious. take that piece off and cut it in half and then do once and twice and all that beautiful meat in center. here again, once and then twic twice. now we're ready to make the sauce. i'll start with extra virgin olive officially. you have beautiful crab here. and get it nice and warm. and it's important step you're building flavor of the crab. i'll grab good for garlic and this say chilly mix we use and chilly flakes this is our own mvrm a little spicy and i put parsely in here we call this sofrito in eye tall yap the base of flavor. so i put this in the pan.
8:55 am
this mixture will make the difference in the sauce and you create layers of flare and we'll sautee that with garlic and extra virgin olive oil. you need to fry the grab with garlic and parsely and olive oil and i'll season with salt and belter and another important step season in stage stages. now i'm going to cook this for a couple minutes here. you're developing crab flavor it's sucking up oil and parsely and all these flavors and i have my pasta and this is called shalteli this is italian pasta i make it flour and pars parsely and eggs. if you use dry pasta you cook that sooner than i am. garlic is brown and i have develop on the sauce. crab is turning a little red here and i can smell aroma of garlic and crab it's awesome. next white wine. building pace of officer in.
8:56 am
white wine reducing and put a little fish ok and palmadora sauce made with organic new jersey tomatoes. we have so many great tomatoes available us to and nice handful of these at the end i put these heriloom tomatoes because they have freshness within the pasta and i like texture with grabs and tomatoe tomatoes. now we add pasta and with any pasta you want ton cook it in the sauce for a couple minutes to develop flavors. at the end i like to just take basil and i never precooked basil in a restaurant i like to tear pieces because i like a nice punch of basil and parsely and give it one last toss here. that's the dish. we'll plate it. pasta is perfectly cooked. crab is gorgeous. i love this because you get all of the wonderful crab flavor
8:57 am
without all the work. this is extra virgin olive oil it's nice and fruity and drizzle that on top and finish with fruity extra virgin olive oil and no cheese with fish on pass taxt now it's time to fac face. amazing, now it's time to taste, amazing, heriloom tomatoes and delicious pasta i'm lieu paladino from paladinos of passyunk and this i'm lieu paladino from paladinos of passyunk and this is your foot spot
