these north and western suburbs. close to 70 in millville. dover is at 70 and to the south we go in delaware, long neck at 70. so a mild start but because that wind has picked up we're not going to see the temperatures climb like we did yesterday. some fog but not nearly as dense what is it was yesterday. look at the wind pick up. that's the front coming through out of the north. wind gusts close to 30 here in philadelphia. this next few hours here, that will be the strongest wind of the day. it will die down a little bit later today. but still be a bit breezy for the game and then overnight tonight. that's the highest close to 30. so hold on to your hats there. it's a bit breezy out there this morning the wind will continue to gust. front moves through there's the sunshine we have by this afternoon. trying to warm temperatures up. not quite close to 80 degrees and it gets even cooler those numbers are in the seven day forecast. i'll have that coming up. >> we'll take it it's football

weather. see my excitement. excited for football pope francis preparing to celebrate nass cuba today. we actually have a live look at havana, you can see as we pan out a little bit people there are. things are getting started. they're all gathered to see the pope as he makes his way across the country ultimately getting here. the pontiff awhile popular figure in the communist island nation. thousands people line the streets of had a have a van in a to welcome him. pope arrived in cuba yesterday. many people cheered as they waived cuban and vatican flags. catholics from all over latin america traveled to cuba to witness his visit first hand. >> i dearly hope the pope comes every year to cuba because things are better. people are happy on the streets. they are well painted. this is incredible. >> on tuesday, the pope will travel to washington, followed by new york. >> then of course in just a couple of days this week pope francis is going to be right here in our area in philadelph

number one, cars parked without a placard that was prepaid and purchased from the city in the zones around the parkway from the art museum to 12th street will be towed starting at 6:00 o'clock tonight. that's the scenery just showed you. remember the parkway is already closed as of yesterday morning. we showed that you yesterday. number two, that you got to remember, if you still need to buy a parking placard, you need to buy it and if you need it by tonight you only have until 2:00 o'clock today. get down to ppa on eighth street. doors open in an hour at 9:00 o'clock. pick up your placard. again ppa closes at 2:00 o'clock today. so if you need it by today, you need to get down there fast. now, if you're parking on the parkway from the museum to 12th street you're okay if you have those passes until thursday at 10:00 o'clock. and when you buy a placard you'll be assigned a spot in one of six garages the city is making available starting on thursday. but make sure you bring id with to you prove that you live in those tow zones. if you don't make it in time today, buy a pass, you can park in residential permit parking

historic visit to our city. all right. 8:07 in our cover story this morning our sexy outfits and weight requirements the same as sexual discrimination and harassment? on thursday, the courts ruled that the borgata casino can mandate weight limits for servers. they refer to as borgata babes. more than 20 servers who wary sealing uniforms sued the casino saying the weight requirement only impacts women but the courts disagree and at least for now the weight requirement can remain in place. obviously the comments began to come in quickly. nj nobody wrote, why is this even an issue? companies should be able to have rules. should the boy scouts be forced to allow girls? or should the girl coutts be forked to allow skies? where does it end? nancy thinks it's ridiculous. i don't care what a waiter or waitress looks like. i just want my drinks served time and the drinks to be good. attorney heather hanson joins us via skype. good morning.

>> good morning, bill. >> on the surface to me i'm not really sure why it's not discrimination. it seems pretty clear. you're requiring women to do something men aren't required to do. so help clear it up for me. >> they actually are requiring men to do it. they have the same standards for men who work there as borgata babes as they do for women. had the women been able to prove that the men weren't held to that standard, if they had pictures or proof of guys who were overweight trying to fit into their uniforms, they would have been in much better position and the court actually said that. but while they said that the policy was implemented in diss i didn't mean in a tower way, that actually wasn't the case. there was no proof of that being the case. >> you heard the tweet and some people are asking, is this case, have we finally decided as a society that you can have certain requirements for a job? it's sounds like people were frustrate thed at things going too far? >> you know what, we can. for example, i went and look at some other cases. there are weight requirements if you work on telephone poles to

fix them because obviously that's job related. you could actually break the telephone pole. weight requirements in certain cases for court officers because they need to be able to chase down somebody who may be a suspect. so there are certain things if it's job related that can be a weight requirement. right now, obesity is not a protected class under the law except in michigan. so that means that you can actually be discriminated against due to your weight and have a much harder fight in court than you would if you were discriminated against for your sex or your religion or race, freck. >> you said there are men who have similar requirements. are there borgata bros as our producer was saying? i thought the job was exclusive to women. it's not. >> no, it's not. if it had been, bill, the women would have been in much better position to fight this case but there are actually male waiters who are held to the same standards. the women claimed that they weren't, that they weren't harassed in the same way, but the judges felt as though there wasn't any proof of that. the women still have a claim because they claim that they were harassed because they

♪ welcome back at exactly 8:14 right now. in our news headline that suspect from the arizona freeway sniper shootings makes his first court appearance. wearing a black and white striped prison jumpsuit. 21-year-old lesley merit, jr., was ordered to jail. on $1 million cash bond. police say merit's gun was linked to at least four of the ledge confirmed shootings in the phoenix area. but he says he's not the i-10 shooter. >> i have to say i'm the wrong guy. i tried telling the detectives that. my gun has been in the pawn shop for the last two months.

i haven't even had access to weapon. >> police arrested merit inside a glendale wal*mart on friday night. he's now charge th thed with numerous felonies including aggravated assault. the prosecutor does believe this is domestic terrorism but can't charge merit with that under state law. we need to get your opinion on this one. what do you think? there was a lock down at a middle school in hawaii those are common enough but this made the kids cry. wait until you hear. the drill took place on september 11th. so some of the children were in a classroom actually watching a documentary about the attack ats when according to the kids a guy, a man, an add dull, walks up to the door with what looks like a weapon. the school principal says it was all just a drill. it was an announced drill and the man was actually a staff member wearing a beanie and holding a hammer. so he was part of the drill as well. parents think the school went way too far. >> she said she was sitting by the door and she was afraid and

thai. tell us a little bit about this. hopefully give us some tips but first good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning, bill. here's the question. so if you have your choice between laying on the couch and watching some of those new fall tv shows versus going out for a run, what are you going to do? >> you want the right answer? >> i'm going to run. >> i want the real honest answer. >> my body wants to sit down and relax. >> and there's reason for that. it's resting science. so it's a small study but it was publish in a medical journal called biology, and what they're telling us is that our bodies want to conserve energy. your body wants to you lay on the couch. and this goes way back to cave man time when we were hunting and gathering which we don't do a lot of any more. but when you were hunting and gathering you need to rest up we're resting up. we just aren't doing the hunting and gathering part any more. signal from our nervous system that tells our bodies to just relax and take it easy. now, in this research what they

did, they put leg braces on people. they put them on treadmills, and what they found was as they increased the resistance and made it harder for them to walk on the treadmill, their bodies adapted. in other words, your body works to conserve calories. to conserve energy. which is the last thing you want to happen when you're trying to lose weight and trying to burn those calories. >> right. you want the body to help you. >> your body thinks it's trying to say the. >> how can we trick it? how do we get our body -- it says we adapt. how do we fight that every overcome? >> well, what you need to fight your laziness. that's what you need to do, and so how do we do that especially passion the weather changes and we just want to snuggle in? well, one of things is you break it down into smaller goals. in other words, if you want to get out and exercise, you have to just say i'm going to go for a 10 minute walk. just 10 minutes. or i'm just going to walk down to the stop sign and back. once you start on that journey many times that turns into a
