radar looking at a few showers trying to work their way into the northern suburbs. really don't think you'll see much in the way of rain today. fog and very warm temperatures. into the 60s here, city north and west, south and east, a look at these record high temperatures. see how long this warming trend last. >> let's look at some of your top stories this morning. we know there has been a deadly crash. a man is dead after an accident along 476 in delaware county it happened just before 1:00 this morning. a passenger in the car was taken to the hospital. we don't know the extent of her injuries. the cause of the crash is under investigation. also right now police are trying to figure out whether a 15-year-old who was found dead, if this was the result of a suicide or a homicide. the boy was found dead inside of a broken down lincoln town car. someone discovered the body of

this child and called police about 7:00 last evening. police say the boy had at least one gunshot wound to the head. when police got there there were two people who had identified themselves as his parents and they were already on the scene. >> it's not been verified at this point but family members believe it is a 15-year-old boy. this 15-year-old boy lives in upper darby. he was recently, this past wednesday, reported missing. >> it is unclear how the family found out that that child was inside the car, but police say they did used to live in that community. police also say the abandoned car belongs to a man who lives on the block and that kids were known to hang out in that vehicle. as of last night police had not recovered a weapon. >> and more sad news. two people are dead and one is injured after a plane crashes in south western pennsylvania. this happened at the woodlands resort about 55 miles southeast of pittsburgh.

according to its website, the resort has a runway for private planes to land and it's not clear what led to the crash. >> there's a woman who's recovering this morning after a car slammed into a corner store in camden. this was just about 5:30 this morning. we don't know the extent of her injuries or what caused that crash. >> and the debate over pennsylvania's long overdue budget continues in harrisburg. the senate also put a provision that would allow wine sales in supermarkets. the house speaker says that would never pass. and a developing story out of paris this morning. french president francois

hollande secretary of state john kerry believes a universal pact should be adopted today. it would aim to keep the rise in global temperatures well below 2 degrees celsius. >> making national headlines this morning, the search for clues in last week's shooting in california goes under water. fbi divers returned to that lake where sources say they pulled several items from the water. although they're not saying what exactly they were. items, the teams may be searching for a missing hard drive. >> and at 8:06, homeland security will now oversee the search for two afghan military trainees who disappeared from a georgia air force base.

morning, republican presidential candidate, donald trump, his popularity continues to surge even when he's em broiled in controversy. his poll numbers remain high. a recent poll find him in a commanding lead, 35% say they would like to see him as the nominee. the next candidate senator ted cruz is way behind at just 16%. trump has gone from a side show to a legitimate candidate and that has democratic front runner hillary clinton a little bit nervous. >> i think for we, you, and everybody else, we're just bringing folks to historical laughter and all of that. but now he has gone way over the line. and what he's saying now is not only shameful and wrong, it's dangerous. >> shameful, wrong, dangerous, but it is time to really take donald trump seriously. joining us this morning, professor david barrett from

villa nova university. good morning. >> good morning. >> we're almost a year out and a lot changes between now and then, but donald trump has held strong. is it time to take him for a very serious candidate. >> he's a very serious candidate for the republican presidential nomination and we are now less than two months from the iowa caucus and we have the new hampshire primary and south carolina and in march all sorts of things are happening. he's leading in the polling in most of the states. however, you mentioned senator ted cruz. the polls are showing him pulling ahead of trump in iowa, which sort of begins the whole process. so yes, trump is a very serious candidate, but it's far from a sure thing. there have been many front runners who end up not getting nominations. but he's for real. he could get the nomination, absolutely. >> you mention front runners who ended up falling off.

three months before the whole season opened last time you were hearing about herman cain, you were hearing about michele bachman. >> four years ago we had a sort of flavor of the month, but let's face it. it's been months now. last summer people thought or even last spring he's kind of a flash in the pan. no, he's going to stay with it, i think. unless he loses a bunch of primaries early on. but you know, he's looking good in the primaries. there's a lot of excitement within the party. if you look at america more broadly, independents and democrat, let's face it, there's not a lot of excitement for him. indeed even in the republican parties about a quarter of republicans say there's no way they could ever support donald trump. so he is strong within the party but he has problems of electability beyond the process.

thank you for watching our show. >> 8:28. let's take a look at some of our top stories this morning. this is a crazy story. a mother of four and her cousin are in jail charged with arson, burglary and attempted kidnapping. prosecutors say the women set fire to a house in washington township thursday night all in an attempt to abduct a three-year-old daughter. police stopped the two women in her car and the child was returned to her grandparents thankfully unharmed. >> there's a mills borrow guy behind bars after he arranged to have an inappropriate encounter. he had no idea that he was actually communicating online with an undercover officer who was posing as a teenager.

believe, she says there was a point where she fell out of love with swimming. >> i think i just lost my focus with the sport and i didn't remember my goals and what i wanted to achieve. and then a lot of my coaches pushed me back to where i used to be and then i wanted to achieve those goals again. >> she just keeps working and that's what i like about her work ethic. she just gets the job done. it's just let's get the job done. >> reporter: not only is glinecke a beast in the pool, but she trains outside swimming as well. >> go through a strengthening protocol as well as some mobility work, but mainly it's based on circuit training and making sure she's getting the proper rest in, especially that will help supplement her swimming. >> reporter: this season she plans to swim her fastest and leave everything she has in her

there was a passenger in the car who was raced over to the hospital. we don't know the extent of her injuries. the cause of that crash is under investigation. also, police are trying to figure out whether a 15-year-old was murdered or if he killed himself. this happened in philadelphia. this boy was found dead inside of a broken down lincoln town car. someone discovered this child and called police about 7:00 last evening. police say the boy had at least one gunshot wound to the head. when police got there they say two people identified themselves as his parents were already on the scene. >> it's not been verified at this point, but family members believe it is a 15-year-old boy. this 15-year-old boy lives in upper darby. he was recently, this past wednesday, reported missing. >> it is unclear how the family found out that that child was inside the car, but police say they used to live in that community. police also say the abandoned

hey, bob! >> reporter: good morning, everybody. you know, grow on up. i remember my dad saying come on kids, let's get in the car and drive around and check out the christmas lights. check out this house behind me. all during the season, i've been checking out the houses around the delaware valley. very kelly christmas. this is marlton, new jersey. king avenue where they have 175,000 lights on this home here, plus 29 inflatables. tom and beth have been doing it for about ten years. he said he started to get kradsy about eight years ago -- crazy about eight years ago. look at that, even the top of the roof. he says he leaves some of the lights up there all year-round and he goes back up in september plugs them in, changes some of the bulbs. they've had santa claus here on some nights. if you're looking for something to do with the kids this weekend, put them in the car and let's have some christmas fun.

evening, same thing tomorrow. not much of a change. but it will get tricky on monday. that's when we have rain moving in. so good for the football games or if you're out no matter where you are, temperatures are climbing into the 60s and partly cloudy skies. we're on our way up now. philadelphia is at 52, 50s to the south, wildwood is almost up to 60 already. visibility is improving. they were down quite a bit this morning but that fog is burning off, the sun doing its job. these are the record high temperatures today, all are in jeopardy, even at mount pocono to 63 degrees. we could be a degree or two above that not only today but the next few days. ultimate doppler will have a few showers trying to move through the north and western suburbs but a storm developing over the center part of the country today will impact our area on monday. in the 7-day forecast we're very warm near 70 on monday. but that rain develops and behind that it gets a little cooler and we get a few more showers on thursday. now we're back to about where we should be, maybe just a little

above that but much cooler. 47 with a gusty wind on friday and next weekend that colder weather comes back. >> and we are going to take a look at what's going on with bob kelly and a very kelly christmas. no we're not. we already did that. you need some great holiday decorating ideas, karen found some cheap and easy ones that you can do around your house. >> for today's around the house, one of the most amazing things are the smells of the season. barbara king, good morning to you. >> for today we're going to use some food that we probably ar have around. let's start with this gorgeous candle that you've created. >> just take a cylinder vase and i took some clippings of evergreens from around the house. actually wrapped them into the bottom of the vase. really just stuffed them in there. don't worry about being neat

about this at all. and then i took a piece of holly and then i poured some cranberries into the mix. once you fill this with water, the cranberries are going to float. you top it off with your floating candle and this at different heights is really going to look like magic on the table. >> that is a gorgeous centerpiece. thank you so much and how easy was that? >> one of my favorite smells of the entire season is cinnamon. what can i do with that? >> it's so much fun to use on vase is or candles. here i use it around a candle. i tooblg a rubber band and wrapped it around the candle and then just slipped pieces of cinnamon around this. this is going to smell even better as the candle eats up, it just brings back all those memories of christmas and childhood. >> how do i make this? you started off with a little

mason jar? >> exactly. i put a little bit of fake snow, you can use epsom salt. just take a votive candle and put it in there and that is going to make your table glow beautifully. another mason jar we tied with a ribbon, we put a bunch of evergreens in there, but tie the seam together, bring your cinnamon sticks in, pop them into the centerpiece and it looks wonderful. >> this is so stunning. >> thank you. >> it just blows me away. what is better than lemons and oranges. >> and cloves. >> how do i make this? >> this is very easy too. i am all about easy this time of year. i took a glass vase, wrapped birch bark around it, tied it with raffia, added the greens and then took oranges, lemons and cloves and made these wonderful, yummy-smelling,
