thank you for your service that is heartwarming. >> awesome. on to our cover story this saturday morning. daughter of a local police chief was found guilty but not on the more serious charges. for involvement on attack of gay couple last year. 25 year old kathryn knott was convicted on misdemeanor charges and simple assault from the attack that left one of the victims with a broken jaw. she was with 14 friends when they were attacked. she and two other charged. the two men pleaded guilty and sentence to do probation knott said she never used slurs or struck the victim. jurors say she refused to take responsibility. >> night sos bad that they zoo nothing wrong with what she did. she didn't happen appear apologetic. like what is the big deal? >> and it was a big deal. it was a big deal or everybody. i am so offended by everything about her.

>> knott facing sentencing in february. her father is chief of police in chalfont bucks county. attorney header hasn't son. header there was a employee bargain on the table for probation. other two individuals got probation. now that she's convicted even of a misdemeanor is she going to jail. >> b pro l not bill. the reality when you are convicted of simple assault is a misdemeanor. the likelihood is slight. the da may take that into consideration and real push for at least a little bit of time for her to actually serve as an example for everybody else. >> so if they did take the plea bargain my understand ding you know better if you don't accept then attorneys want to make example and push for her to do that time. you still don't think she necessarily loss anything by turning down the plea bargain. >> we don't know what the

bargain was. one of the persons plead to a felony assault the other to a simple assault. if the da was only offering her a felony assault it was actually good idea not to take the plea bargain that's not what she was convicted off. if they were offering plea bargain for simple assault that is what she was convicted of those conversations that happen between d of the a is attorney we are not privy to. here something that does not usually result anne sentence. however in a situation like this if she had been offered a lesser plea and she decided to go to trial she has cost the city money which is something that the da's office will want to serve as example. if you have a plea bargain offered you should think long and hard about taking it especially when you are convicted of similar charges. >> you and i had the opportunity to speak about her tweet and past behavior usually that wouldn't be aloud in evidence things she said in the past why was it aladdin this case.

>> one of the allegations she used horrible slur and she claims she didn't. they were able to get that information in because it serves to sort of show her habit or character. in response the defense was able to call some people to talk about her wonderful character. when character or your past types of things that want to say become part of the case then it actually becomes something that is relevant and hear evidence on either side. >> her father chief of police in chalfont a lot of people telling her not to take the plea bargain are you surprised she was found guilty and not. >> does better than anybody else she did not show a lot of regret. she didn't show a lot of understand ding. she really seemed to dismiss all of this as if it was no big deal. it seems to me as though these jurors really it sounds as though the majority wanted to convict her of something greater. she was always going to face a conviction it was a question of

21 hundred block of south street down in south philly. the man worked for pete's pete s he was making a delivery when he was shot and robbed. right now police are on this one investigating and they are on the hunt for a suspect. 33 year old man is in the hospitals following overnight shooting and northeast philadelphia. this happened around 2:soon this morning 79 hundred block of bustleton avenue. victim shot several times. he's in the hospitals in critical condition. so far no arrests have been made. >> also news this morning a car crashes into a house northeast philadelphia. officers called to the 31 hundred block of levick street just about an hour ago. a woman driving the car wasn't hurt. and neither was anybody inside the home. cruise are inspect tippings the house to make sure it doesn't collapse. does look like it got a lot of damage there. the cause of that crash is under investigation. >> daughter of a local police chief was found guilty but not on the more serious charges for her involvement in the attack on

jetta. they have hit multiple homes in delaware county and also in delaware in new castle, delaware. police department in south jersey is giving the community a closer look at how they do their job. last night, members of the naacp and faith base groups road along with evesham township police to see how they respond to calls. before the ride along chief chew and his department went over their community policing program in a way that they are being transparent. part of an effort to improve the relationship between police and the community in this case specifically, the african american community. >> both sides are absolutely on edge. creating very unsafe dynamic in our communities. i think it is important that we have this kind of dialogue to ensure the residence that they are being protected and help law enforcement no it is okay to do their job. >> the organization will be holding similar forums with other police departments throughout the area.
