from the fox 29 studio this is good day philadelphia week d weekend. good day, everybody, we had a very violent night in our city. we had at least two shootings just one block away from each other. plus the weather has been down right wicked in the heart land of our nation deadly tornados and storms tear through texas as we brace for the record breaking temperatures today. game over, birds lost to the redskins late last evening, dashing all of our hopes of making into the playoffs in what has been an extremely disappointing season for philly. the question is who do you blame if you do, and have you lost confidence in chip? straight up 8:00 good morning to all of you, happy

but that can certainly change. once the flight starts to get backed up with reduced visibilitys. all up and down the east coast we're seeing this, radar is all clear. rain cleared out last night. a line is moving through the midwest. ahead of that it is warm, behind it temperatures are very cold. right now, we're in the mid 5050's climbing into upper 60's this afternoon but a dense fog advisory, more records today. much colder tonight. a storm coming in on tuesday, part of it is related to the southern planes storm creating severe weather there, not expecting severe weather like that. however, with the cold air in place, could see a brief little wintery mix before we change all over to rain. the timing of that looks look tuesday through the seven-day forecast but we'll look at that coming up later >> 8:02. there's a deadly asking accident investigation in bucks county. investigators are still out on the scene of a horrible crash, killed at least one person and severely injured another victim.

all happened right at easton road and county line in what areing ton township. it was about 2:30 this morning. right now, police are still trying to figure out what caused the crash. the names of the victims have not been released and that whole area around easton road and county line is still shutdown right now. >> very violent night in our city, leaving several people in hospital. police called out to a shooting on the 6700 block of leads streets, that's in the overbrook section. this happened about 11:30 last night. that victim is in critical condition. no arrests. then just minutes later another shooting close by also in the overbrook section. this wasn't one happened along the 6700 block of lebanon avenue just block away. a man shot in the ribs there. he is stable condition we don't know if they're related but may be invested as such more gun violence whoever shot and killed a teenager in west philadelphia, it happened

about 5:00 yesterday on the 800 block of north 44th street. according to every others the teen what is shot twice, medics rushed him to the hospital where he died. we don't know a motive or have a description of the charlotshoot. deadly tornados hit texas last evening. at least eight people were killed when heavy storms and tornados rip through the northern part of the state last night. the nash weather service says at least 11 tornados hit the dallas area alone last night. some people not affected by the storms are trying to band together to help people who can use it. >> came to help out. we heard they needed blankets, pillows some need place to stay, they got kids. >> you're just a block away. >> yes. went get hit. thank the lord. we're here to help. >> there were tornado warnings all afternoon and night there. there has been another deadly police involved shooting in chicago creating outrage. two people are dead after they were shot by a chicago police

officer and at least one of those deaths is being called an accident. this happened saturday morning in the steep we have the side chicago. authorities say those shots were fired after officers responded to a call and allegedly were confronted by what they called a comment battive subject. police have not released the identity of the officer involved. the medical examiner identified the man consulted killed as 19-year-old antonio and the woman as 55-year-old betty jones, a mother, her killing was accidental. the chicago police department is already under a federal civil rights investigation, which came after the release of a video showing a white officer shooting a black teenager 16 times last year. and it is 8:05. horrible traveled tragedy in north new jersey. a murder scoot of a whole family. a husband reportedly consulted his wife and you don't know daughter before turning the gun on himself in edge water.

investigators found the bodies of the stat ko family in their apartment after a friend called belief police after they didn't come to a holiday party. they do not have a motive at this time. 8:06. we tried to wait but you know we had to get to this. it was bad. the eagles season, it's over. they needed to win last night. it was what they called the must win and they didn't must do it. so they lost. 38 to 24, allowing washington to clench the nfc east. needless to say, there's a lot of disappointment and people are still feeling the pain. let's get over to jenny joyce who's live outside with the latest. at the linc. good morning, jenny. >>reporter: good morning, karen. and that nfl game day music used to be inspireing, not this season at all. last night's game about as ugly as this morning's weather in a 38 to 24 against the redskins the eagles lost any chance of any post season play. we talked to a lot of fans last

night. many disgusted watching turn overs and dropped passes. many couldn't care less about next week's final game against the giants. instead, they're focusing on the future, what to do next. a lot of people were posting on social media, chip's got to go. we talked to possibly as they were leaving the game last night. the one we talked to didn't seem angry, it's almost as if they weren't surpriseed about how the season turned out. just given up. >> high hopes every year. another disappointing year. it's there's always next year >> hose a great coach with but a bad bad gm. they got rid of all the players that's why they suck. >> reporter: personnel decisions is a big issue for a lot of people now that his multi-million dollar move backfired this season despite fans wants and wishes. it doesn't seem like chip kelly will be going anywhere. he does still have to years left on his contract. it will be interesting to see what happens in this upcoming

that can be any camera. i have no idea which one it is. the could be any one. that should be the ben franklin they tell me. it's out there. there are speed restrictions. a quarter mile or less, this fog will be burning off. going to take awhile. fog, low clouds. can i do something about it? sure. ma might awhile. looks like this afternoon we'll see few breaks in these clouds and sunshine, that pushes our temperatures up. ultimate doppler clearch low clouds fog. you might see patchy drizzle out there. as far as the clearing goes, 1:00 seeing sunshine. rain is getting closer. this is about the time we're seeing the warmer temperatures really climb here. with a little sunshine that will help into the upper 60's maybe close to 70. that's a cold front coming through. once that moves through, once you see the rain in your area today, then the temperatures will really drop. by 4:00, it's across lehigh valley, 6:00, through philadelphiaful then through new jersey and delaware off the

coast by 11, 11:00 the wind picked up and temperatures dropping, could see a good 20-30 degree temperature drop in a short period of time. as far as the temperatures now, we're into the upper 40's, lower 50's, little warmer, just to the south, but that colder air comes in monday, and that combined with a storm approaching monday night could lead to a brief period of wintery weather up north. by the rush hour warm temperatures with coming down. that's what we're dealing with tuesday, much colder in the seven-day forecast, ones once this clears. those numbers coming up a little bit later. i'm getting all the buzz right now on what's happening. in your political crutof course lot of changes happening politically. joining me we have renee and eleanor, both sides of the aisle, of course, interesting news from overnight. neither side of the aisle.

welcome back, it is 8:29. take a live look at a foggy trenton. that's like a full sweep of the delaware valleyly where we have fog in about every single corner. a little bit of music right there. all right. let's take a live look to at some of our top stories making headline this morning. the "the force awakens" sets a new record at the box office. the new "star wars" brought in 49.3 million dollars on christmas day alone in north america. movie industry experts say it is the highest total ever for the holiday. the previous record was set by sherlock holmes that premiered back in christmas in 2009 in the uk the winner of

cooling off too much, but it will keep them from warming up too quickly. it will be into the upper 40's, lower 50's for awhile. philadelphia at 52. the airport reporting off and on delays there because of the low visibility. right now, everything is clear but check with the airlines if you're traveling today, things looking like they could slow down a little bit. we have the fog out there. you said it will be gone by 9:00, that's what kathy says driving to mantua. does not look like it will be gone by 9:00. 10:00, 11:00 things start to clear up. visibility is down, this by 9:00, it will slowly start to rise a bit. the gray color disappears. that's the sunburning the fog off, by 1:00 increased visibility looking pretty good. there it is, nice and clear by 3:00. that's when the temperatures are climbing thanks to the sunshine. delays looks like it's all green for now even though there's rough weather in the southern planes and clouds and fog everywhere certainly looks like things are doing ok now.
