because there's 2 feet of snow for lot of people to get through today. but just take it easy. don't do it all at once. just pace yourself. cold wind by 10:00 o'clock and it's only going to be 24 degrees but bright sunshine. 31 will be our high today and happily not as windy, wendy as yesterday. she's so cute. we've got the end of the storm to show you on the six-hour loop of ultimate doppler radar. now that that's out of here, before this storm our seasonal snowfall total for this whole 2015-2016 season was and a half an inch of snow and now we got season's worth with one storm 22.4-inches the official total at philly international and that puts us at 12, three, four number four of the top snowstorms that we've ever had in the city. so the top, of course the still the blizzard of '96. now, here's the thing. bright sunshine outside but very cold out there. single digit wind chills in wilmington. reading, millville, atlantic city, it feels like 10 in

philadelphia. so, again, it's deceiving sunshine out there. as you walk out the door and i guess that is the best advice. stay warm and pace yours self today. >> pace yourself, slow down, let somebody else do it. good news there. the wind is there. it's gusting and the direction is key because we not only look at the wind speed but that direction, one wind gust in wildwood, 18 miles an hour. look at that direction northwe northwest. it was northeast all day yesterday. that led to coastal flooding we still have the problem there with the coastal flood warnings in effect high tide happening now along the coast a little bit later in the back bays. that's where you're seeing record flooding yesterday. and flood advisory for new castle county and salem county. 11:00 o'clock to 12:30 you can see minor flooding, but record flooding yesterday because that wind changed direction it allowed some of that water to drain, drop down blow flood stage this morning. but we're going right back up. we will see major flooding. but maybe not quite as high as
8:03 am
yesterday. maybe not seeing that record flooding the past record was sandy we set new records yesterday and this was from stone harbor. right now the temperatures are into the 20s but it feels a lot colder and we're talking about temperatures actually trying to get back above the freezing mark. we'll show when you in the seven day forecast when we come back a little bit later. >> that sound good, thanks so much, dave. >> karen, every time he says this had more of an impact or higher flooding than sandy just puts into context what significant storm we were dealing with. >> absolute. we hear from governor christie at 10:00 a.m. this morning. so we had a lot of tweets from you, ryan wrote where is jenn and why is she not sitting shotgun in a car driving around the suburbs? no days off. jenn respond to do that one and she's here today. hi, jenn. >> good morning, you guys. we told you the story. the heartbreaking story of this church behind me. we're in downingtown and you'll see later this hour that the snow literally caved in the roof but the on the thing we want to talk to you look at the roads
8:04 am
this right here is devon avenue. we're at the intersection of route 113 and devon and what we want you to know as you go over here, you can see that primarily on the roads right now it's massive trucks, massive snowplows. they are making it easy to get around. so if you do have to get around in the downingtown area, chester county, you can definitely make it but one of the things we want to share with you are 3 feet of snow or however much everyone has, 30-inches, 12-inches, it creates snowplows -- snow piles rather that look like this. so that's one of the things. i can later today as the sun begins to come out, if you can bundle up the kids, they are going to have plenty and plenty of snow to play with but again just to give you little bit of perspective this right here is a snowplow. a pickup truck and look the piles of snow are way higher than that. the one other thing i want to caution you about that underneath this it's awful cold. some of the roads and some of the parking lots you'll be walking around very very icy.

which is seventh street. it looks pretty clear. but the issue here really is the back roads and also the sidewalks a lot of digging out today after 31.9-inches. we've also seen a lot of business owners out and about. they've been trying to shovel the sidewalks and also lay some salt down. the other issue is that this is not necessarily the fluffy yesterday of snow it's only 18 degrees outside so this is hard packed snow. we also showed that you car that was around the corner that's just stuck on one of side streets like this. a lot less heavily traveled than this street in particular because this street doesn't look that bad but the car is just stranded. they tried to dig themselves out, and they wanted to get to one of the detectives, they have parking detectives in the city of allentown where people can park for free. they were trying to move their car before the plows come and bury their car even deeper, but their attempt was unsuccessful to even get out of that parking spot. so a lot of people are feeling

8:09 am
question is, how long will we be able to? because again the water is starting to move in. it's very cold. it's very slushy here. there are more people out and about. it appears, not even sure if the acme is open. we see some folks who are trying to work their way in but clearly the back of the acme is getting all flooded out as a lot of these homes and businesses are. but, again, obviously pretty descriptive view here to the source of the problem. we started off in wildwood. we were at the lobster house there had some problems during the high tide which was around 7:00 o'clock last night. the tide was worse in some places 7:00 o'clock -- actually 7:00 o'clock yesterday morning is when they had the problem over at the lobster house. and then continued problems for high tide last night and again we're at high tide right now. so the water once again is starting to rise. we'll continue to monitor this area but, again, take one final look here. pretty descriptive viewpoint of where this water is coming in at here, guys, back to you.

>> one of the challenges and you guys are clearing the runways and, you know, deicing the plains. one of the things people have to remember it's not just about physical. the entire region, entire coast got slammed. you have to coordinate witness destinations, correct? >> each airline coordinates, you know, with its own system. and figures out its own best way to run its aircraft. >> so you're saying about 3:00 o'clock today some of the flights from american you're not expecting really to be back open for business as we expect on a normal day really till tomorrow? >> an even tomorrow morning we're told that some airlines may not completely be up and running until midday. so that's why we're really encouraging people to stay in touch with their carrier or else they can call the airport at one-800-phl hi gate good mary flannery, thank you very much for providing all the information. we appreciate it. >> nice to talk with you. >> let's get down the shore one of our big problem spots we did have that tide coming in and we've been seeing a lot more flooding right there. wow, what a change behind you, brad sattin.
8:46 am
that's really come in. >> reporter: yeah, it really is. this is the source of the problem it's really flooding out a lot of these neighborhoods and just a second we'll show you some pretty dramatic new video we just got a few moments ago. but take look at this. this is where it's coming in right by this acme here. this is an area we were trying to get to yesterday for hours and couldn't find a way to get to it because the whole region was flooded. in fact, dave, let's turn the camera. you can see the water is making its way and boy, we have a real sun problem here but if you can see the pictures here, the water making its way into the neighborhoods because, again, we had high tide hitting over the last hour so the water still on the rise before it will once again go back down. we want to show you amazing video from this acme here that one of the employees gave us just a few minutes ago. this was last night. he open the receiving door this is the back of the store here and this is what he saw. water all the way up to the floor there. literally it looked like you were out in the middle of the bacon see anything.
8:47 am
just, you know except water. you see a telephone pole in part of that shot but this is the flooding the employee saw yesterday. he actually got stranded here yesterday and took some of these pictures. had a chance to talk to another employee a little while ago by the name of tom solomon he describes what he saw yesterday. take a listen. >> we got flooded in. no damage to the house, but, um, we lost our car. we're just hoping it just needs a jump but it was pretty high. car got soak, the wiring got soaked. a lot of people lost their cars and their houses. i know people who lost their houses in west wildwood that's the worst place to have a house and i feel a lot of people who are, you know, lifting their houses and this is the reason that they do it. >> reporter: clearly hard to assess the damage last night in the dark, but as daylight hit a few hours ago, we're seeing more and more folks around here but again still dealing with high tide issues. what we're hearing it's not going to be as bad as it was yesterday.
8:48 am
but as far as the damage you're hearing those stories and more and more loss of homes and cars. that kind of thing as this water continues to come in here right by this acme again we're at 25th and park boulevard in wildwood. we've yet to make it to north wildwood which was really hit hard yesterday. that's maybe about an, a mile or so up the road here so we'll check out next and through the day report back to you. again the source of big problem here, the back waters here, the bay here is really flooding out a lot of these neighborhoods. guys. >> a lot of insurance claims are going to be coming in. brad, thank you very much, we appreciate it. >> so far in downingtown we heard about a church that will need to rebuild. >> yup. >> heard about 4-foot snow drifts. we've seen people digging out and we know jenn fred is probably wearing her pajamas underneath all the clothes that she has on. jenn fred in downingtown washington do you got for us now? >> reporter: well, because i'm an actual working journalist there's no jammies but i can tell was, a lot of people in and
8:49 am
around downingtown certainly are still in their pajamas and shaking their head about this church behind me. now we've kind of moved positions and i want you to know that when the pastor was called here last night, he thought that there was just like a minor water problem. >> when i walked in and saw it for the first time i was expecting to see a broken pipe because water was flooding everywhere. i was expecting to see a broken pipe and opened up the door and looked in and saw the sky. it's not what you expect to see. >> reporter: as you can see, it looks as though people were sitting in these seats when this happened that they would have been horribly injured. so this happened about 6:00 o'clock last night. the pastor found out about this because that pipe he was talking about it burst and it alerted the fire department. so the fire marshal called the pastor because it was some kind of fire pipe, a water pipe in there that kind of, you know, fireproofs the building. as you can see it's a massive
