so not affecting the rush hour. notice it's all rain. temperatures stay above freezing but we have colder weather that is coming in. those numbers are in the seven day forecast. i'll have that a little bit later. >> ♪ dave, thank you. we have breaking this right now at 7:03. a 45-year-old man is now in custody in kalamazoo michigan investigators say he went on a shooting spree in several locations over several hours that killed seven people. investigators say a 14-year-old girl was among five people shot and killed right outside of a cracker barrel restaurant. father an son were gunned down at a car dealership and a woman is in critical condition after being shot multiple times at an apartment complex. officers say they don't think these people were target. they don't think there's a connect. kalamazoo is about 160 miles west of detroit. also breaking this morning, an overnight crash had the roosevelt boulevard shut down. it just reopened actually moments ago. now we do know that seven people

including several children were hurt. let's get right out there to fox 29's jennifer joyce. she's there on the boulevard. jenny, this couldn't to develop. what can you tell us? >> reporter: good morning, bill. we do know that a total seven people were injured in this crash including two children. the accident happened down on the roosevelt boulevard northbound at -- near that first bill bore. boulevard was closed for about five hours. it is just reopen northbound we're in the area of broad street. police tell us that, again, several people were injured in this one-vehicle crash. investigators say one adult and one child were ejected. the other five had to be rescued by emergency responders. all were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries. the city's accident investigation division says the driver lost control of the vehicle around 1:45 this morning, hit a couple of barriers and ultimately overturned on the highway. again, a total of seven people involved in this crash including two children.

all were transported to hospitals and we're hearing that there are critical injuries. so, again, the northbound forty seven of the roosevelt boulevard in the area of broad street just reopened to traffic. karen and bill. >> thanks so much, jenn 92. wow! >> keep us inform as that continues to develop. another terrible crash on that very dangerous roadway. >> philadelphia police are investigating a late night shooting in the city's hunting park section. this happened around 10:30 near west pike street and north park avenue. police say two people were shot multiple times in their car. one of them was pronounced dead at the scene. so far no arrests. 7:05. investigators in burlington county, new jersey, are trying to figure out what sparked a deadly fire in florence township on friday evening. we know that it happened in building 39 in florence toll gate condominiums. fire officials say the fire moved so fast and caused a roof collapse that's what made it so hard to get those flames under control. police say it took until saturday morning for the crews to find the body of one of the

victims 72-year-old irene thorn upstairs in a unit where she lived alone. >> i happened to see it on the news this morning. i recognized the building. and the address and then from there we made phone calls and flew over here. >> it was well advanced prior to police and fire even getting here. when the fire got here there was a lot of structural damage and the structural damage made it tough for the firemen to enter. >> she was kind hearted person. she loved animals. she loved people. loved her family. she'd do anything go out of her way for anybody. >> six other people including two firemen and one police officer were treated and released from the hospital. and show you pictures police are looking for two men this is very very clear video footage. they were seen running from the scene of a stabbing this happened at a local college kutztown university investigators say this happened just on early saturday morning during a fight. several blocks from campus. someone pulls out knife and

establishes a 22-year-old much that student right now is in serious condition. if you know who those people are please immediately call police. new castle county, delaware, putting up big money to keep the dupont company in delaware after it completes its $130 billion merger with dow chemical. according to the news journal of wilmington, delaware, new castle county alone is giving a $7.5 million contribution. a specialty products business will also be located in wilmington as part of this deal. another primary victory for republican donald trump but the campaign ended for at least one candidate. >> coming up we'll tell hugh is no longer in the race to be president of the united states and how this could change the campaign moving forward. ♪ >> the oldest hat maker in the country is right here in our area. it's been around for nearly 150 years. but now the company needs some help and a member of hollywood's elite just answered the call. we'll explain coming up.

♪ in decide coverage now, looking at donald trump he did it again karen. another primary victory. the billionaire businessman turned politician took home the most votes in south carolina with ted cruz and marco rubio in a close race for second. trump in his victory speech echoed a slogan that he's been saying from the beginning. >> our theme, which i love, may be the greatest theme of all time, right? the word again eventual system going to come off we'll get rid of whole theme what's going to happen make america great again, right? and the last two weeks because i've gotten to see so many i guess millions when you add them all up with all of these rooms and all of these speeches and i've met so many people, but the people are so incredible that

their god given potential. but the people of iowa and new hampshire and south carolina have spoken and i really respect their decision. so tonight i am suspending my campaign. >> joining us this morning to break it down drexel university political science professor bill rosenberg g morning, thank you for joining glass good morning. >> start with jeb bush. were you surprised at all he decided to suspend his campaign? >> the surprising aspect of it he started out as the unquestionable front runner in the whole election with $150 million behind him. but ultimately money as we see cannot buy an election in this sense. if the message is not strong enough and the competition is too tough. >> what do you think now with trauma? two primaries that he's won. he is -- is he totally the real deal at this point? will he be the nominee, do you think? >> well, i question whether or not he's the real deal and i also question whether or not he'll actually be perhaps president, not sure about nominee. the reason being that trump still continues to hover around

in the 30% range. if you think about it, more people in the republican prima primaries are voting for another candidate rather than him and i think by jeb bush dropping out, and by christie dropping out and close to about seven other candidates, it's going open up more of a lane for it to be ultimately a two or three person race and i think in that case that's when donald trump runs into problems. >> basically when he 22nd place winners last night. cruz who didn't do quite as well with evangelicals as he thought and rubio who did very well. coming in a second. what do you think of those two or possibly if you go out to kasich who do you think will possibly emerge from that trio? >> well, it's kind of a very interesting scenario, because in a sense, we have egos and personalities involved here. if either cruz or rubio did drop out, i think it would create a massive challenge to donald trump. but i don't think either one

really wants to do that and both of them have pretty substantial groups of support behind them. so as a result i think donald trump is in a really great position because as long as three or four candidates are in the race, he's going to continue to hold on to his anchor of strong support and it's going make it very difficult as time goes on to for the others to accumulate enough delegates butut matily the decision will probably be made at the convention not beforehand. >> let's get right to the democrats of course hillary clinton did pull it out she did win but she was given a very close run for her money from bernie sanders. what do you make of that? >> well, the politics is really interesting, because just a month ago she was up by 20 or more points in nevada, and it was clear sailing and she thought it would be no question that she would walk away with it. bernie sanders has surprised a lot of people. he went from a candidate who people thought was more symbolic and now he's actually directly challenged her. but i also think one of the

now. you step outside nice and comfortable temperatures for most part above freezing a few areas about 40 degrees. beautiful sunrise thank you pete for sending that in. there from new jersey great start pretty much everywhere a lot of great sunrise pictures. temperatures right now are into the 40s here in philadelphia. 42 and it's right about 34 degrees in mount pocono. one place down below freezing is allentown down to 30 degrees. now here's this rain that we're talking about. it's controlly working its way across west virginia and will begin to move into our area today. so we will be dealing with a little bit of rain right now the timing of this looks like it holds off till aft afternoon five, 6:00 o'clock we'll see that rain developing some light rain and it is all rain the temperatures will be above freezing. tonight it begins to move out. so by tomorrow morning, it is clear. but the wind will pick up and try to bring colder air in so we might see here just an area of ice or two. some slick spots by tomorrow morning.

♪ >> welcome back. the bot. to hour right now we want to update you on that breaking news from overnight right now the roosevelt boulevard has reopen reopened. that happened just within the last half hour. following a horrific crash that happened overnight. it was just about 1:45 that was the scene. it was right near broad street. seven people were injured. some were ejected from the vehicle. there were two children who were also in the vehicle as well. just about 7:30. let's take look at some of the this morning's top stories. first told you about this story yesterday morning here on good day. investigators are still trying to determine how two new york city police officers were shot. police say that first officers heard gunshots and when they went to check it out the suspect pointed his gun towards them then took off in a car. police followed the gunman he drove the wrong way count the

street. the man rammed no a police cruiser. a total of eight officers were involved in the pursuit and at some .2 plane clothes officers were shot. suspect was also shot multiple times andness critical conditi condition. recovery continues this morning for tugboat an barge that ran aground off the coast of the atlantic county yesterday. officials say the 77-foot tugboat lot of power and then ran aground north of the absecon inlet. nobody was hurt much that's the good news and there are no concerns about pollution. ♪ weekend wendy very excited about going to the circus today. so excited that she decided to become a juggler as well. and so far it looks like she's pretty good. yes, it is the ringling brothers warm numb and bailey circus at the wells fargus center and today's shows are three of them, 11:00, 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. so lots of chances to go and enjoy the circus and of course the last time you'll be able to

keep in mind, kalamazoo is about 160 miles west of detroit. also breaking this morning, overnight crash leaves seven people including several children injured. this happen on the roosevelt boulevard. let's get right out there to fox 29's jennifer joyce. jenny, we were getting some of the updates earlier. do we have any new information? >> reporter: nothing new at this point, bill. as you mentioned seven people injured in this one-vehicle crash including two children. it's all clear now. but if you take look over by that first tress billboard that's where the accident happened on the roosevelt boulevard northbound near broad street. investigators say one adult and one child were ejected from the vehicle. the other five had to be rescued by emergency responders all were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries. the city's accident investigation division says that the driver lost control of the vehicle around 1:45 this morning. hit a couple of barriers and ultimately overturn on the

highway. again, a total of seven people involved in this crash including two children. all were transported to hospitals, and there are critical injuries. aid investigating this crash to see why the driver lost control. the boulevard reopened about an hour ago. it was shut down for about five hours overnight. bill and karen? >> jenny, thank you so much. another horrible crash on the boulevard. >> philadelphia police are investigating a late night shooting in the hunting park section. this one happened about 10:30 near west pike street and north park avenue. police say two people were shot and they were shot multiple times in their car. one of them was pronounced dead at the scene. so far no arrests. investigators in burlington county, new jersey, are looking into what sparked a deadly fire in florence township friday night. it happened at building 39 in the florence toll gate condominiums. fire officials say the fire moved so fast and caused a roof collapse making it hard to get

the flames under control. police say it took until saturday morning for crews to find the body of 72-year-old irene thorn, inside the upstairs unit where she lived alone. >> i happened to see it on the news this morning. i recognized the building and the address and then from there we made phone calls and flew over here. >> it was well advanced prior to police and fire even getting here. so when the fire got here there was a lot of structural damage and structural damage made it tough for the firemen to enter. >> she was kind hearted person, she loved animals, she loved people, loved her family, she'd do anything go out of her way for anybody. >> six other people including two firemen and one police officer were treated and released from the hospital. police right now are looking for two men here's a picture of them seen running from a stabbing this right near kutztown university. investigators say this all happened early on saturday morning during a fight. so far blocks from campus that may be connected to that school.

someone put out a knife -- pulled out knife and stabbed a 22-year-old. that student is in serious condition right now. if you know who those guys are or any information about this case, please immediately call police. also, very scary moments for a man in old city after a stairwell collapsed. this happened not too far from our station right about 6:30 on the 200 block of church street. firefighters were called out to rescue the person. this man because he became trapped underneath the stairwell when it collapsed. he was raced over to the hospital much does he have a broken leg but he's in stable condition. new castle county, delaware putting up big money to keep the dupont company in delaware after it completes its $130 billion merger with dow chemicals. according to the news journal of wilmington, delaware, new castle county alone is giving a $7.5 million contribution. specialty tee product business will also be located in wilmington as part of this deal. and at 8:06, it continues

of hair caught around this. this post has been shared more than 30,000 times and fox medical team beth galvin joins to us talk about this because i mean this can happen if it's a piece of hair and laying around kit get caught up. >> reporter: yes, good morning, alex. you know, typically happens in the first few months of a baby's life. and that is typically when the mom may be losing a lot of her hair left over from her pregnancy because of hormonal changes after she had the baby. so you typically see this around four or five and real kind of telltale warning sign i would say is the baby that's unusually cranky and you're everything to sooth that baby and it's not working, i would take off if the baby has little mittens or footsies on, even boy babies can have this problem with their genitals where a string or a hair can get caught around their private parts. so if you have a boy, taking off the diaper and just checking to make sure hair tourniquet syndrome isn't the problem.

alex. >> so how common is this? you know of a mom who had this happen to her child? >> reporter: exactly. i don't think it's that common, but it really does happen, because we posted this on our facebook page and i'm sure you all well and you'll get a huge response from parents who say the same thing has happened to them and in maria edge worth's case she said in january her daughter was about just over four months old and she was undressing braille lynn to give her bath in the evening and she noticed that one of her toes was completely discolored one of her middle toes, and she is a nurse so she kind of panicked because she knew about hair tourniquet syndrome and she knew what it could do if she don something about it. pediatrician's office was closed so she took to the baby to the er and the er dr. numbed the baby's toe and making a small cut on both sides because he confine the hair with a magnifying glass. he was able to release the pressure and maria says almost immediately like within 10 or 15 minutes the toe returned to a

normal color. the baby was fine. it was all over with. but if she hadn't taken off the baby's little foot tease to bathe her and put her to bed it might be a different story in the morning if she's seeing that and the baby has had no blood flow for that long. >> obviously for parent that can be really scary having to take your child to the er. is there something we can do at home if we notice something is going on or you need to go see a doctor immediately? >> reporter: typically, it is something you can handle at home. all you have to do is cut the string or cut the hair strand to release the pressure and then just check on it to make sure the blood flow is restored. however, if the baby still is cranky and still is crying even though you've taken care of the problem or it looks red and angry or pecked or the baby is running a fever then i would definitely get to maybe an urgent care or into your pediatrician's office if you can and tell them it's an urgent matter because it can be, you know f it's left unattend and uncorrected, it can be really problematic. >> good news is that's typically

into the 30s right now. 42 in philadelphia and then gets up close to 50. in fact we hit 50 in atlantic city. so no question this will be rain tonight. by about 5:00 o'clock just some light rain coming in right about i-95. continues to move through between seven and 9:00 o'clock. pushing south by tomorrow morning. fit were a mix, we would see it here but it's all green indicating that temperature will be well above freezing. it will drop by tomorrow morning. so we can see some areas ice up a little bit if they're still wet. watch that. but that system -- very minor concern that i think we'll have because things will dry out before these temperatures drop. it will climb back up to about 40 by tomorrow afternoon. so it does get a little cooler. tuesday, wednesday and thursday two big storms we're watching we'll have some coastal flooding and initial period of a mix on tuesday night and early wednesday but by wednesday morning, wednesday afternoon, much warmer weather comes in. and we will see these temperatures climb with some heavier rain into the 50s and 60s. here's the seven day forecast.

greated cheese to this to make it our own. >> get them in there. >> make sure they're all coated. that's just because they stuck together. >> a perfectly coated pickle. >> i wouldn't admit that. >> i did that. >> let's get these so we can fill up the tray. >> you can do as much as you want. you can do pickle spears or slices these are kosher kills. >> after we get them all laid out. >> we'll fry them g perfect tray, perfect pickles ready to go. now what? >> the next steep these will go into the friar. we'll use our friar at the restaurant but at home all you got to do get a pan with oil hit heat it to 350 degrees, any kind of oil, vegetable oil, canola oil, peanut oil, anything you want and fry them. >> now it's time to fry these pickles. nice and crisp. >> we'll lay them in. that's all you'll do at home lay them in your hot oil make sure the oil is hot. spread them around a little bit. oh, yo, bill, i need to you keen the dishes. >> cook these for about two

minutes or so. at home you'll flip them in the middle of the cooking process about a minute in. and there we go. about another minute or minute and a half and they're ready to go. we want them nice and golden brown. see how they're starting to float. that's how helping they're done if you're using a bigger friar. at home the edges start to get crispy and brown. put them on paper towel on plate or tray. add some -- this is a bill pickle. can you see that by the way? >> uneven and not coated right. >> perfect. >> i'll eat it any way. >> what do we got. >> memphis ranch. show you how to make that at another time. we'll dip and eat. >> you ready. >> cheers. bone appetite. >> bone appetite. >> that's really good. >> a little hot but delicious. >> they're good. >> very easy to make at home. >> you can do it. >> thank you very much. >> here at fat jack's barbecued
