today? >> weight down the mats certainly because those winds will be gusting over 30 miles an hour. we'll talk about a few showers developmenting nothing right now but one or two trying to work their way into the north and western suburbs. not everybody will see the rain today. just a pop up shower likely more so in the afternoon but one or two raindrops trying to reach ground maybe not even making it there across the lehigh valley right now. close up view just above 22 right across lehigh and northampton counties there. it will continue to work its way in from the northwest. here the timing this is the computer forecast now. isolated showers and really between about 12:00 and 3:00 see there's just very scattered mostly in the north and western suburbs but they'll be moving through the area throughout the afternoon and evening. these temperatures they're into the 40s now headed for 50's maybe touching much cooler weather coming up a look at that in the seven day forecast let's get a get traffic of traffic this morning. here's bob.

bensalem live. good morning, dave. >> reporter: karen and bill g morning to you. investigators are calling this a case of arson at this point. i'll step out of the way we're here off of old lincoln highway and this is the lincoln motel heavily damaged by fire here. fire officials say at least one person died in this blaze. the call came in just after 3:00 in the morning. investigators say that there was heavy damage to a first floor room here and that at least one person had to be hospitalized for smoke inhalation but it's possible it could have been a few more. we did see some people who were wearing red cross blankets. they were staying here and of course they were evacuated from this scene. one person actually told me he tried to rescue the person who was trapped inside the person who he thinks passed away. you'll hear from him at 8:00 o'clock. the person who tried to make that rescue attempt, but again we're told one person died in this fire. investigators still on the scene here trying to comb through all

of the evidence that they're calling this a caves arson. no word on a suspect or any kind of motive at this time. but a lot of pieces to put together. we'll continue to ask more questions and get back to you 8:00 o'clock. back to you. >> thanks, dave. keep you posted with any new information. happening now, investigations of violence throughout philadelphia let's start in the city's hunting park neighborhood. three people were hospitalized after a shooting along the 3800 block of north 13th street. this happened just before 1:00 this morning. police say they found 30 shell casings. one woman is in critical condition and two men are in stable condition. so far no arrests have been ma made. also in hunting park, another shooting sends one man to the hospital. this happened around 1:40 on the 3400 block of north broad street. police say a 25-year-old man was shot in the back there. investigators say they found three shell casings on the scene. the victim is in stable condition. police are also investigat investigating shooting this one

happen in the city's olney section. about 11:15. you can see the scene right that the 900 block of lindley avenue. police say three people got into an argument one of them was shot three times. he was raced over to the hospital and is listed in stable condition. we don't have any word on any arrests. also we have a community so saddened an absolute mourning and the new jersey state police trying figure out what caused a horrible crash that killed two girls and injured two more right after their prom. their car crashed no a tree on route 49 these are pictures of the girls going to the prom. beautiful girls. all dressed up. that was right before this tragic accident happened in maurice river township in cumberland county early yesterday morning. those that were killed we saw them the driver 17-year-old day shaye sultan and 15-year-old mikayla mose. they attend bridgeton high school coming back from the shore. they were down in ocean city just hours after their prom. that's when this accident happened.

there were some neighbors who heard the horrifying noise of the crash and they ran to help. >> they couldn't get the doors open and then all the rescue and fire came, and they got the three girls out and the driver didn't make it. >> they're devastated of course. who couldn't be? i know i am. like i can't even imagine their pain right now. >> the high school is going to have grief counselors available for students tomorrow and also some happen lince there. no word on what caused this tragic crash. 7:08. president obama expected to speak to graduates at rutgers university in new jersey today. the white house says president obama will you were graduates to pursue positive change in the world despite challenges ranging from student loan debt to overseas turmoil. the president will offer advice about how to approach the rapidly changing world. president's visit to campus falls on the 250th of the university.

and just a short time ago, more than 200 members take look, 200 members of the rutgers camden class of 2016 boarded a train to head to new brunswick so they can see the president. speak at their graduation. it lab cool day for all. and keeping with politics, donald trump invites and jill biden will be in philadelphia tonight. the two men will both attend penn's commencement as parents. trump's daughter tiffany and biden's granddaughter naomi or both graduating to night. philadelphia police officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty is going to be receiving an honor from the president. the white house says the president will award robert wilson ii. the public safety medal of valor tomorrow. he was buying his son a birthday gift in game stop last year when two suspects came in, fired shots during this itemed robbe robbery. wilson was shot and killed. he was promoted to sergeant after his death.

little bit deeper into politic. bill rosenberg from drexel university joins. good morning, sir. >> good morning. >> what do you think about this people kept saying donald trump eventually would fizzle out. donald trump would never become the presumptive nominee. now it looks like he's rolling strong. are we seeing an unstoppable force? >> well, it end up i think many political analysts and just people in the general public didn't think trump had a chance. but he was able to capitalize largely on basically a large degree of disenchantment and with his television personality he was able to bring in a lot of people that voted for him that might not normally vote. >> well, and now you're seeing -- now that he is the presumptive nominee, easy for me to say, you're seeing more investigation, new york times is the latest. they are digging deeper. do you think now that people are paying more attention more will start to come out or is it -- it's just the wheels are moving now and it will keep going? >> many serious journalists have now sort of almost came out with

a mia cull pa apologizing for the fact they didn't dig deep enough watch they had done up until this time bakely let jump use his own words to sort of hang himself a little bit. but now they're starting to do a little bit more investigative work. in fact there was a story out about 50 women who had relationships not necessarily personal relationships but relationships with trump that had basically been very uncomfortable. so i think those types of stories create a drum beat which is going to make it more and more difficult for trump. but at the same time, he's going to win the nomination. he's going to be a candidate in the fall and anything that's coming out even if it's about his tax returns are not criminal offenses. so there's not going to be anything that will be able to knock him out of the box. >> we're talking about trump. hillary clinton is talking about trump. she hasn't won yet. bernie sanders says he's not going anywhere. all of this if he nom no taking away from the fact that hillary clinton really needs to be focusing on making a strong run

to actually becoming the nominee? >> i think in some ways hillary clinton is laying low to not expos herself too much. she's going to probably be able to crews across the finish line only with the super delegates. if we take look at the map, all the delegates still out there to be had, if hillary clinton and bernie sanders split 50/50 the rest of the delegates, hillary clinton will not have enough delegates -- delegates voted for her to win the nomination on the first ballot. she's going to need those super delegates. what's kind of ironic the republican party establishment would really love to have what the democrats have with this huge number of super delegates which possible stop a as a stop trump movement. on the other hand bernie sanders would like to have what the republicans have where voters vote for candidates, those votes get counted and whoever wins, wins. >> going back and kind of bigger picture taking back history little bit. ronald reagan used the media,

right, and president obama mastered using social media. are we seeing donald trump in this next era of kind of the reality tv, the larger than live personality and policy may not matter as much? is that the next trend or is he just a phenomena? >> i think he is very much a phenomena. i think one of the things that we're seeing right now is almost a cam paper via twitter with donald trump. what's very interesting is that on the democratic side, it's not really hillary clinton and bernie sanders engaging them right now. it looks like it's elizabeth warren. she's combating him for each tweet that trump comes out with she comes back with another one. so i think we have a different sort of engagement going on. a new technology. but in the end of the day, in november, voters will have to go to the polls and decide which one of these people both of them having the highest negatives in u.s. history running for president is going to be the next president of the united states.

two likely not everybody will see the rain but if you do it's just a quick shower. it will move on through and these will start to die down after about seven or 8:00 o'clock once that sun goes down. the temperatures are into the 40s this morning. it's a cooler breeze. we'll try to climb up to near 60 degrees but just a chill in the air this morning. mount pocono hazel town into the 30s. that's the area that could see temperatures down to 32 degrees tomorrow morning. 40s and 50s to the south. maybe trying to touch 60 degrees there. so just a cooler day today. the wind will make it feel a bit cool. freeze watch late tonight, to monday morning carbon and monroe counties because these temperatures will be dropping tonight by 11:00 o'clock, 36 in mount pocono. look at tomorrow morning, down to about the freezing mark there. look at these suburbs much this is what you step out to tomorrow. 30s and low 40s across south jersey and delaware, philadelphia will be down to about 40 a little chill in the area with a light breeze. but 32 in mount pocono. so today well try to get up to about 60.

investigators say there was heavy damage in a first floor room and that at least one person had to be hospitalized for smoke inhalation. they continue to investigate but so far no suspects. we have some more top stories this morning. a woman in northeast philadelphia fighting for her life after she was shot repeatedly. officers raced to the scene this is east willard street the middle of the afternoon just 3:30 on saturday. there they found the woman who been shot five times. she is in critical condition at temple hospital. police have taken one person into custody. police in new jersey are looking for this woman. take long look. she robbed three banks in the last 48 hours. the first was a wells fargo in willingboro township. just before noon on friday. then at 6:00 o'clock friday night she's accused of of robbing td bank in hamilton. police say she struck again on saturday when she allegedly robbed the td bank in willingboro township on all

but there's one thing we as parents are doing that could really put them at risk while you're little ones are enjoy themselves. yes, we what the parents are doing. it has to do with something that we enjoy as play time as adults. yeah, messing around on our phones. what else? fox news medical team deena centofanti joins us this morning. deena, here's the deal. i'm guilty of this. i'm down in the basement playing with the kids and i'm on my phone. they get mad at me and day dad, you're not paying attention. they call me out on this. >> right. they're right. >> i know they're right. >> you're playing with the kids. everything is always the parents fault, right? we get blamed for everything. here's another thing we'll get blamed for this is the problem is distractions. let me tell you about the research. it's pretty interesting from indiana university. they observed parents playing with kids really little kids we're talking about one-year-old kids and put cameras mounted on their heads so they're really trying to monitor the tension

span. so they observed three different thing. first of all, child led play which is when the child wept and got a toy and then inter acted with their parent. that led to the longest attention span which is really good. that's what they were aiming for. the next thing they observed was parent led play where the parents were trying to be super stars in front of these resear researchers and grabbing toys and trying tinder act with their kids, that led to sort of a medium attention span. the kids sort of were spotted staring at the ceiling or not engaged after short period of time. then there was the low engagement parent so that might be chris in the basement with the cell phone out. >> right. >> on facebook or maybe you're doing little shopping. >> um-hmm. >> or whatnot. >> for the kids. >> those parents -- yeah, everything, of course. those parents are the ones who would occasionally say, you know, way to go, sonny, but in the meantime they were more focused on their phones much those were the kids that exhibited the shortest attention span. it wasn't by a lot but here's

what research hers say the take away from this is that attention span is something we need to nurture in our kids. you think they're just born with it it comes naturally we can nurture it and change it for the better if we're engaged with them and we sort of show them that -- how to do it and it's important, chris, because a longer attention span is a good predictor of success later in life when it comes to, you know, school, social interactions all those things. makes for more successful kid. that's why it's important to be engaged especially at critical times so when the kids are rea really little that's when that brain is really developing. >> i'm staring at you right now and this big monitor in your face and i'm thinking okay, you're very beautiful by the w way. as little one -- >> thank you. >> -- the study focuses on one-year-olds. they're so locked not face and reading every little expression in your eyes, the expressions you make with your mouth, are you smiling, no wonder they want your full undivide the attenti attention. >> yeah, and they can -- it's

mr. details. what can you tell us? >> reporter: bill and karen g morning to you. investigators are calling this a case of arson at this point. let me step out of the way. you can see what's left of the lincoln motel here. heavily damaged boy fire. fire officials say that at least one person died here. the call came in around 3:00 this morning perhaps even little bit before 3:00 o'clock. investigators say there was heavy damage on the first floor and certainly a first floor room but as you can see, a lot of the first floor damaged here and that several people had to be rescued. one person had to be hospitalized for smoke inhalation. we spoke with a couple who made it out end clueing a man who says he tried to rescue the person who could not get out. >> when we got to the doorway the whole doorway was completely all full of smoke. we tried to walk in, we couldn't walk in at all the room was to smoke chemo and the cop was

hunting park neighborhood where three people were hospitalized after a shooting along the 3800 block of north 13th street. this happened just before 1:00 this morning. police say they found 30 shell casings one woman is currently in critical condition. two other men in stable condition. so far no arrests have been ma made. also in hunting park another shooting sends one man to the hospital. this one happened around 1:40 on the 3400 block of north broad street. police say a 25-year-old man was shot in the back there. investigators say they found three shell casings on the scene. the victim is in stable condition. third shooting to tell you about right now police are investigating this one it happened in olney about 11:15. the scene 900 block of lindley avenue. police say the three people got into an argument. one of them was shot three times. he was rushed to the hospital. he is in stable condition. we don't have any word on any arrests. 8:05. this morning a community is in mourning in new jersey state police are trying to figure out

what caused a crash that killed two young people right after their prom. two other students were rushed to the hospital. their car crashed into a tree on route 49 in morris river township in cumberland county early yesterday morning. the driver 17-year-old daisa sultan and 15 year older mikayla mosley both died. the students attended bridgeton high school and were returning from ocean city, new jersey, just hours after their prom. some neighbors woke up to the noise of the crash and ran to help. >> they couldn't get the doors open, and then all the rescue and fire came, and they got the three girls out and the driver didn't make it. >> they're devastated of course. who wouldn't be. i know i am. like i can't even imagine her pain right now. >> now the high school will have grief counselors available for students tomorrow and so far no word on what caused the crash. and today, federal

investigators are going to try -- start trying to figure out what caused a charter bus to crash in southern texas. it killed eight people and it hurt 44 others. the bus was head to do casino yesterday when police say the driver lost control and the bus rolled over. about 46 miles north of lore raid dome the driver did survi survive. now it was raining yesterday but investigators don't know whether that may have played a factor. also federal investigators are looking for some answers in a deadly crash. this one happened at a georgia air show. horrifying. these are some pictures of the scene yesterday afternoon just after the crash into dekalb county outside atlanta. witnesses say there was by plane attempt something kind of maneuver couldn't pull out a dive possibly because there was high winds and the aircraft struck the ground. so hard the pilot did not survive. also 8:07 new developments in the saga over the auction of the gun that killed trayvon martin. the online auction of george zimmerman's gun the back up and

>> welcome back. we're continuing to follow this developing story out ben same let me bucks county. there was big fire there at the lincoln motel. investigators say they think it's arson. this hotel was heavily damaged by the fire and officials say at least one person died. the call came in a little after 3:00 o'clock this morning. investigators say there was heavy damage in a first floor room and at least one person had to go to the hospital for smoke inhalation. so far no suspects. 8:30 let's take look at some of this morning's top stories. still no sign of a texas woman who officials believe fell off the carnival liberty cruise ship early friday morning. the coast guard is searching for 33-year-old samantha bro berg about 200 miles off of the coast of galveston. video from the ship reportedly shows her falling overboard around 2:00 o'clock friday morning. the ship was only 10 hours into its voyage to cos sue mel when she fell. south jersey is using nature

showers trying to push through the northern suburbs it doesn't look like much right now there's a bit more that will push through in the western side of the state. there it is between about 12:00 and 3:00. not everywhere but they'll be moving through. so you could see a few raindrops coming down and clear out and maybe another shower again. the temperatures will climb to near 60 today. but everybody even if you don't see that shower everybody will see that wind gusting close to 30 miles an hour or even a little higher. now tomorrow morning, freeze watch for carbon and monroe counties and that means the actual air temperature could get down to 32. many areas will be 30s and 40s when you step outside tomorrow. some rain coming back. not really until tuesday. develops during the late morning hours. then there it is. steadier rain little heavier to the south clearing out by wednesday with just a few showers linge lingering. seven day forecast shows the showers today. cold start tomorrow. there's that rain tuesday and lingering into wednesday. thursday and friday look like nice days and by next weekend, we are into the mid 70s as clouds increase.
