phillies and the atlanta braves first pitch down in south philadelphia at 1:05. enjoy the rest of the day, i'll see you back bright and early tomorrow morning for good day philadelphia we kick it off at 4:00 a.m. happening now to being taking a look at your headlines. police continues to search for answers after a teenager is shot and killed last night in chester. >> police say more than two dozen shots that rang out all over the street. we got jenny joyce there right now with the very latest, good morning, jenny. >> reporter: good morning. karen. more than 30 shots fire. that's according to sources. killing a 15-year-old and injuring two others. it happened last night after 8:00 outside of a convenience store in the area keystone road and pine lane in the city of chester. authorities say in addition to one teen dead, a 14-year-old was critically wounded in the shoot-out and a woman shot in the shoulder. we're waiting to hear from police this morning. as of last night, they were searching for the people involved. calvin mcdow says he was

watching a game on tv when the shooting happened. his wife heard the repeated gunfire. >> my wife came downstairs while i was watching game. she said i heard a lot of gunshots. i turned the television and heard everything and i don't know, just coming down going to get something oh eat. i don't really know what happened. she said there was a lot of gunshots. >> reporter: police are looking to talk to witnesses looking to talk to anybody who might have any information about this shooting. that, again, left a 15-year-old dead, a 14-year-old critically wounded and a woman recovering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. karen and bill? >> thank you so much. exactly 7:05. people in society hill in the dark right now following an under ground explosion that happen at 6th and pine. people in the area were told get out of your homes. there was a transformer that blew. peco was working to try to get the power back up. also one person is dead

after being hit by a car. in burlington county. 5:15 this morning in federal street in burlington. the driver remained on the scene. we don't know if any charges are going to be filed. utility crews are there on the scene repairing poles that had been damaged. a fire in bucks county send three people to the hospital including two firefighters. the fire broke out along the 1100 block of tennis avenue in bensalem, a volunteer firefighter battling fell from the third story from the had us injuring his face, neck and back. crews jumped in to help the injured first sponsored. >> it was a common practice on a house fire, other building fire to send personnel up there. he was doing his routine job. he had a ladder up there with him. we just -- we're not sure what happened how he fell. they trained on acting quick. ems son scene, bensalem is

to the deadly shooting. both victims were treated and released. right now investigators don't have a motive but if you got any information, please call police. police have identified the victim of a fall car crash. it happened in voorhees as a 34-year-old christopher gonzales was in that vehicle. they say he was driving on route 73 just before 4:00 yesterday morning when he veered off the road and struck a pole. the investigation into that crash is ongoing a new jersey teen killed in a tragic crash after her prom has been laid to rest. a funeral service was held yesterday morning for 15-year-old ma kayla mosely in bridgeton. she died last saturday along with daisia sulton when they crashed into a tree on route 49 in morris township. two other girls were injured. police say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash but they're still investigating. let's get you the latest on

the deadly egypt air crash. the first audio available indicates all was routine as the plane was checking in with air traffic controllers along the route about two and a half hours before all of a sudden it goes off the radar. >> the pilots checked in with control in hers switzerland late wednesday night before being handed over to italian air traffic controllers. meanwhile, officials say the plane's black boxes have been located but they're about 10,000 feet deep in the mediterranean sea. they're questioning airport staff who had access to the plane including cleaning crews. one theory is a bomb but so far no evidence that a bomb brought the a plane down killing 66 people. that guy was hit by a military drone strike in pakistan. his name is mulait happened

had a large area of heavy rain. but a few isolated showers will spin around this area of low pressure, which is just off the coast. and working its way south through dc and delaware. now, here's the storm developing mainly north and west with a little bit of sunshine. moving in from the northeast heading to the southwest. look for an isolated shower or storm. this will contain heavy rain maybe small hail but well to the west. a repeat of this again on monday. this is mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms. the area could shift a little farther south right over i95 so each day, we're seeing these showers and storms, thanks to this weather pattern, they're not much of a change until at least wednesday and thursday. that's in the seven-day forecast. you'll see showers, and storms, little more rain tuesday but by wednesday and thursday, we'll warm it up and continuing on friday and saturday. of we have to put afternoon showers or a thunderstorm in therely what's bringing in the warm air is also bringing in that that heat and humidity.

and bill. i just talked to a police captain a short time ago told me members of the chester police department have been working through the night trying to develop as much information as possible on last night's homicide explaining that the first 48 hours after a homicide are the most critical. they've also updated us on the ages of the victims, telling us that the deceased is a 14-year-old. and that a 16-year-old was critically injured after 35 shots were fired in the area of 10th and pine outside a convenience store in the city of chester around 8:00. in addition to one teen dead, a teen is critically wounded and a woman was shot in the shoulder. at this point, police have not made any arrests. and they don't have any suspects but believe that more than one person is responsible. police are trying to determine the circumstances of the shooting. local calvin mcdow ell says he was at home watching tv when the shooting happened. his wife heard the repeated

this broke out along 1100 block of tennis avenue in bensalem. a volunteer firefighter battling the flames fell from the third story of the house injuring his face, in fact, back. crews on the scene jumped in to help that injured first sponsored. >> it's a common practice. he was doing a routine job. had a ladder up there with him. we're not sure what happened. meeting was called. they're trained on acting quick. when a firefighter goes down, ems is on scene, bensalem ems is second to none. of they were able to get him in the back of rescue squad and get him not hospital as quick as possible. >> another firefighter and a person in that home were also taken to the hospital. official says they are in stable condition. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. there was deadly crash that happened about three hours ago in burlington county. this has a lot of road closures right there around 130. we know one person has died

after being hit by a car in burlington about 5:15 this morning along route 130 and federal street in burlington. the driver stopped, stayed on the scene. no charges have been filed. utility crews are there as well. they're trying to repair some of the poles that were damaged by that crash. 8:06. one person in the hospital following a crash in northeast philadelphia. it happened just before 6:00 earlier this morning at castor avenue and fox chase road. police say a woman swerved to avoid hitting an animal. instead, hit a tree. she had to be rescued from her car. no word on her current condition. a $20,000 reward is being offered by philadelphia police for whoever can lead them to a killer. an 18-year-old died friday on the 3300 block of north 13 and street after police say he was shot several times. 19 and 20-year-old showed up later to temple university hospital also with gunshot

wounds, which police believe could be related to the fatal shooting. both victims were treated and released. right now, investigators don't have a motive. they need your help. if you have any information, please call the police. another case, police have identified the victim of a fatal car crash in voorhees, new jersey as 34-year-old christopher gonzales. they say he was driving on route 73 just before 4:00 yesterday morning when he veered off the road and hit a pole. the crash investigation is on going. it is 8:07. so many car crashes and repercussions. a new jersey teen killed in a car crash after a prom has now been laid to rest. they had the funeral yesterday morning for 15-year-old maikel la mosely of bridgeton. of it was on route 49 in morris township. two other girl also in the car were injured. police say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in that crash. they are still investigating.

around. what researchers found. we understand they used an ap to measure people's happiness here? this is kind of interesting. >> it was interesting chris. it was researchers at the university and they wanted to look at dripping and happiness over time. how drinking affects our happiness and sense of well-being. they had a traditional study where they followed a lot of people with questionnaires in their 30's but another part of the study they used an ap, and the ap would -- it was people would carry it around on their smart phones and a couple months a day randomly it would beat and ask them how happy they were at that exact moment. and it would also ask them, what they were doing and who they were with. and so they could click off on there, i'm drinking and so it gave researchers the ability to sort of look at mood and alcohol couldn't assumption.

it does feel good to drink in the short term but long-term not so much. >> is that emotional, physical a little bit of both do you think? >> i think the a little bit of both in the short term that you are enjoying a drink so maybe it's a destressing sort of ritual for you. also, you may be out at a bar, your surrounded by friends or coworkers. you're going to be probably happier unless you're drinking at home alone but we won't talk about that. i think that what they were looking at though is, you know, if you continue to drink over the years and they followed these people for awhile, did you still get that same sense of happiness and well-being? and they found really that sort of tapers off with time. so you do get the short term payoff but you're not any likely to be any happier down the road. >> that tapering off might be physical in that you feel lousy if you have too much alcohol in your system all the time and that also brings up a bigger point too much alcohol, of course, can lead to addiction.
