12:30. it is much anticipated every year and there's some viewing areas like along main street in manayunk, lemon hill, you can watch the race, midvale avenue near kelly drive and kelly drive between midvale and sedgley, but the big challenge, of course, is the wall in manayunk lyceum avenue. so the question now is, are we wheeling into a rainy weather day, dave? >> we're getting started there. lyceum avenue, thank you, sue, we were talking about how to pronounce that. wendy taking down that with their inn did he go bike. ultimate doppler shows we're lear at least in that area for the rain. there's heavy rain came through parts of the delmarva right in southern delaware just off the coast of cape may county, and atlantic county. there's still some rain to the south but that heavy rain is moving out. this is not the only rain we're talking about today. we will be looking at severe weather later today but for right now look for a passing shower. southern delaware moving through parts of new jersey and maybe one or two showers there in

chester and delaware counties. picked up by the computer forecast. just a few passing showers. not severe. we could see a little lull here by the midday here but around noon want to look for few breaks in the clouds that sunshine will heat things up and fuel this. this is a line of severe weather approaching from the west by 4:00 o'clock so between four and 6:00 in the western suburbs. about 6:00 o'clock right through i-95 and then six to 8:00 o'clock pushing through south jersey and delaware. there will be severe weather with these storms strong gusty damaging wind likely as they move through. so want to keep a close eye on the radar throughout the day temperatures are climbing into the 80s by this afternoon. look more detailed look at that severe weather coming up when i come back a little bit later. >> all right, dave, thank you. 70:00 treatment knew this morning crews battled a heavy fire overnight in an office building in doylestown. at about 2:00 a.m. firefighters were called out to a two alarm blaze that was on the 200 block of swamp road. it took crews an hour and a half

to bring under control. you can see it wrapped up there. luckily no one was injured and the cause of that fire still under investigation. also police are looking for the people responsible for an early morning home invasion in the elmwood section of the city. at around midnight officials say two men wearing all black clothing got into a home on the 2,000 block of south 66th street but managed to get away with $3,500 and prescription drug. one of the then had a gun and pistol whipped the female victim and broke her teeth. no arrests have been made so f far. happening now, it's a somber day in the city of philadelphia. as loved ones remember the lives of six people fragicly killed when a building collapsed on market street in downtown philadelphia. that deadly collapse happened three years ago today. general four joyce is live now writ all happened. jenny, we've had lawsuits, we've had rebuilding, but on this anniversary, people are reflecting. >> reporter: yeah, that's

right. i'm standing in front of the site of the collapse construction is set to begin to create a memorial park to honor the lives lost in this tragedy. on june 5th, 2013, a demolition site under construction collapsed ton thrift store at 22nd and market streets trapping and killing sick people inside the store. another 14 people were injured. in january the contractor griffin campbell who struck a cut rate deal to demolish a building that collapsed was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison for criminal recklessness and lying to investigators. sean ben chop the man dem operating the demolition machinery was sentenced to 7.5 to 15 years he testified against campbell at trial. in april mayor kenney announce construction crews were set to break ground on this land. the memorial park committee has spent the last three years raising money to cover construction costs. there's still accepting donations from the $100,000 endowment fund required to sustain these grounds long term. the park will not only represent

an honor lives lost but will also serve as visible reminder that construction in the city needs to be done responsibly. if you would like to contribute, you can make online donation by going to penn hort.net n memorial. karen and bill? >> thank you, jenny. we do have very very sad update this morning. we first told obey story on thursday with where a terrible fire. now we've learned a five year old girl has died she was critically injured in that fire. her mom had gone back repeated toll try and save her. that's where the fire broke out right there on the 3700 block of south hereforward for lane up in the morrell park section of north philadelphia. -- the northeast. witnesses say the little girl's mother had desperately tried to save that child from the top floor bedroom. we saw that chopper a moment ago. both of them need the to be airlifted to hospital. we don't know the latest on the mother's condition. the cause of that fire is still under investigation. also, we have a dire situation for a lot of dogs at our city shelter in philadelphia

and you can do something about it if you have a forever home you're willing to share with a pet. the shelter is at capacity and more dogs are coming in every single day. act philly which is an open intake shelter says because of that, many adoptable dogs are at a high risk of being euthanized. if they don't get adopted they get put down. acct says they're seeing a spike in in takes. that happens during the summer people can't take kay of of pets. they go on vacation much the city shelter is working hard to find these dogs forever home, maybe foster homes. they'll be open from 10:00 till 6:00. tonight. hunting park second of the city at 11 west hunting park avenue. the organization is urging anybody that is looking for a family pet to stop by. 7:07 this morning. flags are at half staff in muhammed ali's hometown of louisville, kentucky. the legendary boxer passed away late friday night at the age of 74 after a 32 year battle with

parkinson's disease. people all around the country continue to mourn the death of the greatest of all time. as he was an inspiration to so many. on thursday june 9th a private ceremony for the family in louisville, ken can't. friday then will include a morning motorcade through the city, followed by a memorial service that is open to the public with eulogies differed by bill clinton, comedian billy crystal and bryant gum balance. limited seating is available. former professional boxer and ali's rival george foreman discussed his relationship with the boxer inside and outside the ring. >> got into the rink when i fought them expect a big brute, somebody who could box, who could jab hooks could punch. i didn't find any of that. what i did find was a presence like none other. do you care whatever you want to do, he was going to be on his feet for the next round. never seen that kind of presence in a human being.

♪ we got a good feeling when we start our morning off with you. take look right now at the international airport all quiet now but delays when we have those big storms rolling in a little bit later this afternoon. let's transition talk a little politics. in this morning's you decide 2016, presidential hopefuls hillary clinton, donald trump and and bernie sanders are gearing up for the primaries in california, new jersey and others on tuesday. they're doing their best to win over the voters. we want to dig -- it's been a really interesting couple of weeks and political expert bill rosenberg from drexel university is here to weigh in on what could be in store for the candidates. good morning, professor. how are you. >> good morning. >> let's start with, you know, you got donald trump, right?

there's been on-going controversy, it continues. once again, he continues to gain momentum, doesn't seem to be chipping away. how do you see donald trump standing right now even with the back and forth? >> well, i think what's really remarkable is that, you know, years ago we used to talk about ronald reagan as being the tough on president. i think we have to consider donald trump to be the teflon candidate no matter what he says, it doesn't seem to hurt him in terms of his supporters. but the real question is, what impact will it have on voters in the fall election because in the fall leck there's not this going to be party stall wards out there active trump supporters but there's going to be independent voters as well, and also the possibility of a lack of crossover voters from the democratic party. >> essentially we may have gotten little look into that because a poll came out on friday showing hillary clinton/donald trump head to head after some of the criticism of the judge, federal judge allegedly being biased and it

shows hillary clinton with a double digit lead. very early but is that starting to impact things? >> well, i would would be very suspect anyone single poll or anyone single event. i think there's become sort of a drum beat that continues to be sounsounded against donald trumy both hillary clinton, bernie sanders and now actually the other day with jake tapper asking him about 25 times is it a racist statement speaking against the judge in his trump university case because of hispanic origins. i think that we have to really see how this plays out. you know, we have a really awkward situation because we have establishment republicans that are against him. we have democrats that are against him, but we have a core of voters in the united states that are very much in favor of donald trump that feel very much disenfranchised and disenchanted with politic as it is today. >> it's interesting everyone kind of anticipated that the republicans would have the

contested convention and now as we get closer looks like hillary clinton will have the committed votes but bernie sanders says he's not going anywhere. is this back and forth for the democrats what's actually damaging to their hopes? >> well, it's unclear. i think for the party establishments, both parties sort of wish they had the other system. the republicans wish they had a lot more super delegates so in effect they may not have had donald trump as their nominee. on the democratic side which is supposed to be more open with proportion al voting and things like that they're confronted with a situation that the super delegates are actually a challenge in effect to true democracy those votes really make a difference in who will get the nomination. >> we will continue on with this fox news sunday we'll have more later on today but thank you, professor rosenberg, always pleasure. have a good day. >> you have a good one as well. >> speaking about this good day let's get a check of our forecast on this day. let's take a live look outside right knowledge trenton, new

jersey, there's a big run, self of them, the run with the docks in voorhees. there's also the kennedy cancer 5k that's in sewell, new jersey. about an hour from now. will they have any problems, dave. >> as long as they're early in the day. maybe a few light rain showers coming down. the timed to anything outside even though it's not completely dry is right now, because later, we could have some storms coming in but there's events today and also a big event coming up this week in new jersey. here's andrew with a weather question. >> good morning, everyone at fox 29 good day weekend. those of us in new jersey and delaware will be headed to the polls on tuesday. nice sr. weather leads to hire voter turnout. dave, how is the weather looking for people to get out and vote for their favorite candidates? >> write in candidates in no particular order i might add. tuesday certainly will be a better day than today. we have these strong storms in the area with a temperature of 82. but look monday clears out a bit there's no severe weather there. maybe just a few showers on

tuesday. certainly not what we're expecting this afternoon. and that is the severe weather risk. it is enhanced from the storm predict center one step above slight there will be storms and good chance they will be severe with damaging whipped maybe open small hail. much of the area except for the northern portion there just slither right there in monroe county has the area in enhanced risk. we have the wind damage risk of high. just a low chance of some hail. maybe a little flash flooding you'll get heavy ran but the ground is pretty dry so maybe some brief flooding and poor drainage areas watch that. that will be all this afternoon. ultimate doppler clear right now but there are a few showers out there. mainly to the south right along the coast there in cape may and atlantic county and parts of delaware. line developing there in ohio. this is the big storm system that changed in wind direction as we go through the atmosphere. that is what creates the potential for the severe weather. we will have that today. these storms will be bit organized and form into a line this is all evident here with

our computer forecast. nothing really happening till about non. then we see a few breaks in the clouds. here comes the line. it will be approaching the north and western suburbs this is what we expect to see the damaging wind three to five north and west. then five to seven along i-95. then a little later say seven to 9:00 o'clock across south jersey and delaware. it is off the coast by nine or 10:00 o'clock tonight. temperatures will be climbing into the 80s with that little sunshine that will heat things up and fuel these thunderstorms but, look, tomorrow is getting a little better. look at the numbers coming up in the seven day forecast. we'll see what is in store after this severe weather moves out. >> dave, thanks. busy day. 7:19. a local world war ii veterans gets his wish finally gets his high school diploma. the family of 90-year-old charles noon nine held surprise party for him yesterday afternoon he dropped out of roman catholic high to join the navy and regretted he never got his diploma but he's been working with the twilight wish foundation to get his degree and

good morning allentown. you hear the music, karen, ge getting people up, dancing around the room as you watch "good day philadelphia" to start your day. that's how every day should start. >> let us what know what you're doing on this day as we get you up to date on all the new that's happening. 7:29. here's some of our top stories. today it is the third anniversary of that tragic collapse of a building right along 22nd and market. that killed six people on june 5th, 2013. there's that thrift store that got crushed underneath that building being demolish fell on to the salvation army trapping the people who were shopping and working there inside. construction is set to begin to create a memorial to honor all the people that lost their lives. that was demolition contractor sentenced to 15 to 30 years and also the man who was operating the excavator was sentenced to 7.5 years behind bars.

>> 7:30. hundreds of people lined the streets of smyrna, tennessee to pay their respects to the blue angels pilot captain jeff keuse who died last thursday. motorcade with his body gave the community a chance to say good boy. despite the tragedy the great tennessee air show is continuing through this weekend obviously the blue angels are not a part of the show. a wildfire in southern california has damaged homes and people a lot of them being for forced to evacuate crews are still battling three alarm fire in the old tow panga area. city officials say the fire started in the afternoon yesterday after a car crashed into a bowl, knocked over multiple power lines the flames are threatening thousands of homes. no injured reported. ♪ weekend wean dee here to tell you about brand new event

and they're calling it the first annual which leads to us believe there may be another one next year. what is it? it's the coffee and tea festival iced. it's happening at the navy yard between one and 4:00 o'clock today. so you pay your $25 at the door you get a souvenir cup and then you go around and sample everything that they have. the best in iced tea, iced coffee, cold brewing coffee and tea frozen products with the admission you get that souvenir cup but, of course, our question is, can you brew us up a dee september weather today, dave? >> we're trying here, sue. wendy drinking 4:00 o'clock 4:00 o'clock not going to bed till easily that could be the time where we're seeing the severe weather approach philadelphia. so mid afternoon may be still okay. but by that time, severe storms will be approaching for the west. not that now. we have light rain out there. area of rain moving. it's a little heavier southern tip of the delmarva now just off

the coast of cape may and atlantic county maybe few light showers one or two there. there's one right through chester county about to move into areas in delaware county right along lancaster avenue. so this is the area to watch this morning just a few light passing showers. then the severe weather approaches from the west. here come this line developing this will have gusty winds with it maybe some small hail four to six western suburbs. six to eight right along i-95. eight to 10 south jersey and delaware. after 10:00 o'clock it's done. so that six hour period could see these strong storms moving in. it could be calm for briefly and then gets very nasty pretty quick. upper 60s right now. we're headed for the 80s. so a warm day today. we have cooler weather in that seven day forecast those numbers coming your way little bit lat later. >> thank you very much, dave. this one actually is a little spooky humane office made a surprising a scary discovery in delaware county. acting oh and a tip justice rescue discovered look at that a 4-foot long alligator was swimming in a bathtub in a basement in chester.

>> duct tape around its mouth. >> there it is. >> chester's rescue founder russell harper says the gator was found in deplorable conditions. >> it already taped up his mouth we know that it can can't eat with taped up mouth. to pull over that cover and hear the hissing a little chilling. >> he'll be unhappy. >> justice rescue is so good at helping animals in need. a dog was also found enclosed box on the property along the 200 block of 21st street. veterinarian with aardvark animal hospital says the dog was starved and needed multiple blood transfusions. another dog was found at the home as well. all of the animals thankfully are in the care of vets now. justice rescue is looking for donations to help nurse the animal back to health. they hope to place the alligator with a wildlife sanctuary or rescue. that would be great. we got another amazing story of survival. a man stranded at sea manages to tread water and keep his head above water for hours and he

made it back safe home this morning. 61-year-old william durr din was fishing alone off the coast of clearwater, florida you can see the smoke coming off his boat. he fell overboard. maybe that's a flare. didn't have live vest his boats floats away from him leaves him standed in the water. there he is. look at that amazing video of him there and rescuers coast guard came in there and got him. when he didn't get back his wife panicked, called authorities. the fisherman and former navy pilot treaded in the waters of the gulf of mexico for nearly a day, 20 hours hoping and waiting to be found and he was. >> maybe a pilot in the navy and we trained for this every year. i was just praying that no big shark would come out and have me for dinner. either going to do it, you know, or just out here and die so decided you're going to make it. >> you can see that in the video they call that dead man's float. they found him 18 miles offshore officials say in good condition.

new this morning crews battling a heavy fire overnight at an office building in doylestown around 2:00 a.m. firefighters were called to a two alarm fire along the 200 block of swamp road. it took crews about an hour and a half to get the flames under control. luckily no one was injured. the cause of that fire is still under investigation. we have a sad update this morning to a story we first told you about thursday. a five-year-old little girl has passed away after she was critically hurt in fire. that fire broke out on the 3700 block of south hereford lane in the morrell park section of the north we have philadelphia. the witnesses tell us the little girl' mother desperately tried to save her daughter from the top floor bedroom. both were airlifted to the hospital. no word on how that fire start started. 8:05 this morning frankford half -- flags hanging half staff in louisville kentucky. people all around this country

there's that one or two showers in montgomery county. a few in portions of south jersey. a lot more to the west and that's where the severe storms will be developing a line will form as this storm system moves east if that change in wind direction that causes these storms to get a little more organized and gives us the severe weather threat today. the timing of this looks like it will not be really until, say, noon where you starting to see some stronger storms near williamsport. then by three or 4:00 o'clock, they're approaching the western suburbs. by 5:00 and 6:00 o'clock moving through the philadelphia area. 7:00 o'clock to 9:00 o'clock, south jersey and delaware. so it's pretty much after 4:00 o'clock where we're getting these strong storms moving through. it's slowed down just a little bit but the threat is still there as holding together even across new jersey, cape may and atlantic city by 8:00 o'clock it is just off the coast. so after 8:00 o'clock, the threat is pretty much done. we'll just see skies start to clear up a bit and a bit more comfortable there tomorrow. we're warm and muggy right now. the temperatures are into the

that's on tomorrow night. >> never mind. i didn't say that. there's look at the main street. the race. out there this morning. and we are looking at a few showers around. temperatures are into the 60s and 70s. heading tour the 80s this afternoon. no rain right now. ultimate doppler shows that. we are pretty much clear. maybe a spotty shower before severe weather gets here. it's developing along that line you can see forming across ohio and down through kentucky into tennessee now the storms will intensify along that. we have this change in wind direction as you go higher in the atmosphere. that's what organizes these storms, and creates severe weather. that is there today and it will certainly impact the area later timing it look like, say, starting about 3:00 o'clock this line is moving towards the western suburbs. after 3:00 say between 3:00 and 5:00 these, this line of storms and this will contain gusty wind maybe small hail moves into the western suburbs closer to philadelphia. six, 7:00 o'clock, it's right through the city.

and then moving into south jersey and delaware between about eight and 9:00 o'clock tonight. so there is imbedded thunderstormthunderstorms thesey winds ahead of it damaging wind gusts likely will likely be severe that's why we're in the severe weather risk and between seven and 9:00 o'clock it's moving across new jersey and delaware. off the coast after 10:00 o'clock tonight. so primarily between five and 10:00 o'clock. that's six, seven hour period there -- five or six hour period it's moving through the area from west to east. now the severe storms developing north and west four to six. six to eight right along 95. and after 8:00 o'clock, eight to 10 south and east. so those are the time to watch depending where you live. pocono raceway the big race there today. uv index moderate severe weather risk is high. could be impacted by these storms between one and five. unfortunately that's when the race will be happening. seven day forecast, has the severe storms today. mix of sun and clouds tomorrow. now by tuesday, we're getting a little calmer but we could see
