thoughts were of using ddt to fight the zika virus? >> i think that ddt had a place historically, but because because about human health concerns and ecological concerns, it would be a challenge to convince me that ddt is necessary. >> there are certain situations where he says it is useful like in africa under strict supervision in small areas. he says this has been useful in fighting malaria. he said the problem with the zika virus is a different mosquito. ddt has not been proven useful against that that mosquito. it's also embedded in the recent study and found that alzheimer's was connected with low levels of ddt staying in the body. >> in patients with alzheimer's, their higher levels of ddd and dde which are long-lasting metabolites that came from the original exposure many years earlier to ddt pesticide.
