some report that there are a lot of sex going on. is any of that true? picture of blackface gangster santa claus. it is the newly elected pba local one oh five executive vice president, michael gallagher. it is the top story. i spoke with the writer, david foster he said that he got this picture from an anonymous source as a tip after he published an article about apparently there been rigged elections among the union. he said right now there's a lot of racial tension with the pba local one oh five. -- 105. because leadership was primarily african-american and now it's white. so i asked foster peak and prone to gallagher about the picture and he says this man is not apologetic. was taken at a halloween party five years ago. >> he doesn't see any issue in dressing as a black gangster santa claus, he told me that his

reasoning was that his black girlfriend at the time did not have a problem with it, no one had a problem with it dressed as that. he actually won first place. gallagher works at a business out jersey. he makes 85 grant per year. those expect that the story will blow up. i had to ask, have you had any traction already? >> the aclu sent some tweets, no, no, no regarding the comments about him difficult saying that he was dating a black girl. got a letter from a pba one oh five -- 105 ordering gallagher to step down as executive vice president number three of the pba local 105. the president issued the statement, the issue with mike gallagher is old and i have spoken with mike. i know his work record and i can tell you that it is stellar and

his history and conduct are devoid of any similar complaints or issues and i know he has no racist bone in his body. this takes us back to a very, very negative part in our nation's history. being african-american it is never okay to dress up in blackface. it is stereotypical, derogatory, and offensive. the guided something that to me as completely idiotic. clearly offensive, but it sounds like the bigger issue here is that there is a contentious wrinkling going on inside the pba. this the pba. this is low hanging fruit. >> dressing up in blackface shows a lack of judgment that you do not want for person and a high-ranking member of your organization. why not just come out say hey, that was me five years ago, i apologize. i don't want to offend anybody and i do take my job as a union leader very seriously. just apologize. >> but at what point does acting in an offensive way on your private time impact your ability

resting place. one person was missing and that was the boys mother. because she still in custody she is not able to attend the service. she had her own private service this morning before the service began. she is charged with endangering the welfare of a child as well as a weapons violation. her case is not being seen in front of a grand jury. >> sometime cases like this there's a mix of emotions among people, there's confusion and horror that goes into something like this. is there more than just this incredible sadness and loss of this young boy? is there anything in regard to the mom who is charged with having some part in letting this happen? >> one activist who came said we need to put aside some of the things being said about the mother because she loved her children and this was an accident. she never met this to happen and we need to stand behind family.

and put the family first. right now at the moment most people i put aside how it happened and look at the fact that it is a tragedy. >> i can see this is really affecting you in a way but i have not seen before when you have been doing stories like this. why is it affecting you so much? what are you thinking? >> i chase a lot of gun violence in jersey city and new york, i have never really seen the outpouring that i have seen here. a family members of children who are here. the fact that it was a five-year-old boy, boy, his brother who accidentally did this. it tears me up to think about how one accident can destroy a family and a community. >> today's the day to celebrate the life he's touching now and more the life he could've touched. >> do your research and get your facts straight because if you do not it could be lead to this. >> i people walking up to me and saying i'm sorry, for what. >> francis is tearing up as she spoke to me outside her home in the bronx. she described the false accusation that her daughter is missing and also possibly linked to prostitution ring. >> my daughter has been exposed

for something that she has nothing to do. >> there are two incorrect accusations that have now gone viral. emily's face along with more than a dozen others are plastered alongside reports from major news organizations in new york on thursday. the councilman andy, cited these girls as it missing and also fears of a prostitution ring. >> that is why we started the initiative of having and creating safe zones in the 12 districts. >> something was odd, there is really no family members at this or the one held the day before. i also spent all morning trying to reach out to them. i had a very a very hard time finding information about them on social media. so i asked the councilman this? >> has anyone come forward and said this is my daughter was gone missing? >> as of the last 24 hours, no. but the news did report after people saw their faces on there,

they reported that she sought two girls have returned, one girl has returned back home. >> i also reached out to the nypd to get information and look what they wrote back. there's a list of the 14 girls nine of whom have located next to their names. one that says there's no missing recent report. four girls are missing. that is leading parents outrage saying things like this. >> what are you going to do to fix it? whatever is responsible for this you're going to have a lawsuit that they don't know what hit them. emily went missing in april, four, four days later her mother found her. she also notified nypd. so i asked the councilman on the phone earlier this morning, what happened? how did this go so wrong and he actually admitted that when it came to this case he felt badly for emily but he also defended what he did. he said said this is starting a conversation about

on the legislators in trenton, the gas taxes done. now it was going to be 23 cents per gallon. and all of you driving how many miles you drive every day chasing stories would've had an enormous impact. there is a midnight deal on monday, governor, governor christie in the state assembly in trenton got together and they forge this tax deal on a napkin and passed it in the middle of the night. the state senate, and when not to say they have a backbone but at least they back down in the face of public pressure. the gas taxes gone for now. here here is the issue, they said the transportation trust fund which is a fun to fix the roads and bridges was underfunded and running out of money so they needed a new tax. we thought about that and said i will bet there is money and that 35 and a half half billion dollar budget that the state of new jersey has. the governor decided after issuing an executive order to cancel the road construction projects. he jetted off to italy. we want to check in now with alex. he has been doing yeoman's work

through this 35 billion-dollar budget to find out is there enough in the budget that could because out without the extra projects so that the transportation trust fund could be funded without raising your taxes. what did you find? >> you find? >> you say happy independence day, i say merry christmas. it is christmas in july every july at the new jersey state legislature. these are called christmas tree items, denims, denims to the budget that the leadership puts on to make various legislators have become a few hundred grand here, a few million here. we are going through all of them in the budget, the waste, the poor, the stuff your money is being spent on while governor christie is issuing line item vetoes for $3 million for children's breakfast in schools. we'll be looking looking into this and giving you more next week. >> today's gas tax independence day, it marks only the beginning as the governor juts off on a vacation to italy. he leaves behind an executive order that freezes all transportation trust fund construction projects except for the emergency one.

athletes, over one third of the athletes reported attitudes and symptoms placing them at risk for anorexia. so i talked to eating disorder expert at the center in ridgewood who told me about the signs of an anorexic athlete. >> so it could be redistricting, or binging, binging and purging, particularly purging, particularly athletes you see a lot of going to training and training for hours and hours and not nourishing themselves appropriately for. >> eating disorder expert says they are seeing more and more patients obsessed with exercise stemming from athletic interventions. >> it means a lot of bodybuilding coming in more recently, we have seen swimmers, dancers, we have seen runners, all sorts of different sports. >> i spoke with a former patient of the center and we talked

about exercising to the point where it becomes abusive to your body. >> i think if you are an athlete it is easier to exercise as a form of abuse because it looks like you're practicing for your sport. it's kind how you know to keep your body in shape, that's what you do. people with other type of eating disorders don't have that so they just restrict what they eat. >> there is a fine line between someone who is overdoing it and pushing to get to the next level of athleticism. versus someone who is a true disorder who have a body image problems. >> it's important to note that an eating disorder is a mental health issue. they have to help the person mentally because it is not anyone who says i think the skinny model, it takes a certain mentality, certain trigger that makes him a go a go to that extreme. >> thanks jessica. >> they have taken over to to pittsburgh this weekend.
