aaronss as the protest was coming to an end. he was rushed to the hospital where he died. he work for the department for 14 years. protestors in philadelphia say their actions have remained pieceful and should not be blamed for what happened in cast dallas. they also believe that the questionable of a handful of police officers to spark these protests should not effect the image of all officers. we certainly support our law enforcement officersment they're members of our congregation, members of our families, members of our communities. it's the bad actions and the bad policies that we don't like. the shooter, 25 year old mike a johnson was an army veteran. he served a year in afghanistan before was sent home. he explained his motive during negotiations with police. was he happeningerred by police shootings of black men and was on a mission to kill white officers. police say at johnson's home they found an as anneal of bomb

the naacp in in baton rouge is making sure its voice is also heard. this he ' calling for piece and justice in the wake of the deadly shooting of arlington sterling. they want justice after the 37 year old was shot and killed by officers outside a convenience store on tuesday. according to investigators officers shot sterling during a confrontation when police say they saw a gun on him. we want action now. it's not a new thing. it's not something that just happened. i'm saying we are a pieceful people. we don't want violence. we're not exposing violence. we want piece. but we also want justice. > a criminal investigation into sterling's death led by the justice department is now underway. a federal civil rights investigation also will be

conducted. meanwhile days after the deadly police shooting of cas still, minnesota governor is speaking in pops to the police shooting that took place in dallas. i make an an appeal to everyone in minnesota for calm, for understanding of this difficult time, the need for call and non-violence and we'll get through this terrible time here in minnesota. he also defended comments he made on thursday suggesting that raise may have played a role in the dealt of cas steel. he says a thorough investigation will reveal the answer. contact steel's death was caught on video. it can did not show h him threatening a police. cas steel's mother said her son would not have approved of the shootings of the police officers in dallas because he believed that all lives mattered. > presumptive democratic

when it comes to septa because it was a really bad week. about a third of septa's cars are out of service. septa is making a new schedule. they're getting some temporary railcars from other transit systems including amtrak and other cities. 115 of the 120 silver lining cars were taken out of service because of the structural issues. it's early. this is one week and, you know, we're moving on a lot of different fronts, it takes a lot of time for the computer testing, the metallurgical testing, all of that. it will be a big moment when everyone agrees as to what were the causes. these issues are causing septa millions of dollars of leasing and employees' over time costs as well as refunding customers who are not taking the rail. the time right now is 7:17.

violence in lieu saws a, minnesota, all the ton sterling was killed in a police shooting tuesday night in baton rouge. philandro castile was shot and killed during a traffic stop wednesday. in both cases video shows neither men threatening police with a weapon. in l dallas things turned event during an over wise pieceful protest. rallies here in philadelphia and around the country called for accountability and an end to the police violence in the wake of the dallas massacre. philadelphia police commissioner richard roth has told officers to be on high alert when preparing for possible protests during the democratic national convention. we can't in any way accept people shooting police officers, the people whose very job it is to protect all of us. there's nothing you can do to prepare for that. all we have to do is be extra vile vinyl atlantic. make sure our eyes and open and

watch each other's backs. protestors shouldn't be blamed for the people who opened fire on police officers. before we did anything we talked to police. we told them we don't want no blood shed, but we do want change. meanwhile pieceful protest disclosure among americans wanting their voices heard continue around the nation. meanwhile in phoenix, arizona, a rally last night at phoenix town haul to express the outrage of ralston sterling and philandro castile. the protests remained pieceful although a few were taken away by police. pepper spray and tear gas were used to disperse the crowd. this group marched near the downtown connector. state troopers gathered to formalin to keep the people from marching onto the highway.

we wanted to get you caught up with everything that has taken place, but now we want to t get some response. reverend mark tyler, good morning, sir. >> good morning. > let's start with the kind of protests and the response. we're hearing a lot of kind of separate the message from the messenger. obviously nobody supports killing police officers. they still believe that that message of respect our lives is still a valid one. >> listen, we're calling for the exact same thing, accountability, transparency and a greater sense -- i saw the district attorney seth williams is outraged at the shing of police officers in which he should be outraged. we like to see that same out whenever a civilian who is unarmed is shot and killed by police. it's not the same kind of level of support. and so support has on go both ways. i'm absolutely supportive of police.

they protect us when we march to exercise our right to criticize them. we want support to go both ways. here in philadelphia, mayor kenny said we all need to heel. in delaware county people are very upset and say that these protests that you're talking about are needing. which attacks are you talking about in delaware county. probably the same people in delaware county who will say the same thing. if your experience with law enforcement has typically been one that has been a negative experience that's pretty much going to shake you. i was struck by what commissioner brown said n yesterday in dallas where he said that most days police don't feel supported. well, when you talk to younger protestors on the streets, that's exactly what they say about law enforcement, that they don't feel support. there's this gulf between us and we can't live without each on. we need each other and what we need to do is like a couple going through a bad relationship, find a way on come together and work through these

major difference dids. i know that both you and i as african-american men have experienced that feeling that your life is not as valley automobile as it should be. how do uniques this? >> you have to fix it with once time i'm going to stay with that met for about a couple going through a bad time. any couple can work -- i've seen as a pastor couples work through infidelity, work through issues of money, all kind of major issues, but first the person who has done the wrong has to really own it and deal it with. n america has a serious problem with raisin racism that has not been resolved and we continue to try to sweep it under the rug and we can't move forward until we put it on the table and talk about how that effects us, not gusano police officer, how we allocate money for schools, how we higher and fire. raise is a major issue in america and as a couple, so to speak, we can't move forward until we deal with it.

at 7:30 we've got more on this week's deadly shootings. police in dallas now say there was one shooter that killed five police officers and wonned seven more, as well as two civilian. investigators say the gunman, 25 year old micah johnson opened fire as people marched to protest two black men killed by police in louisiana and minnesota. police ended up killing him using a robot armed with a bomb, a search of his home reportedly turned up rivals, a.m. nutrition and bullet proof vests. this was a mobile shooter that had written manifest ohs on how to shoot and move. police are also investigating of officers being targeted. here in philadelphia, commissioner richard ross says

condition. police are still looking for the shooter. back here in philadelphia, police are looking for a person responsible for a fatal shooting in huntington park just before 2:00 a.m. along the 800 block of within hock in street. he they found a man shot in the neck. he was pronounced dead on the scene. so far no arrests have been made. just before 1:00 a.m. in cobs creek, fire crews were called to the 5800 block of large wood avenue where four houses were on fire. they were able to get the flames under control. officials are still investigating the cause the fire weekend wendy has a great event to tell you about and it's not too far away. it is called the fire fly fling and it's happening down in elkton, maryland. this is a celebration of bio

how do i get the right one. look for a sunscreen that has an spf of 30 or higher. you want to make sure that it has broad spectrum, uva and v.a. and water resistant. if they said they tested these once and they weren't as water resistant as they said, how do i find ones that are. you actually need water resistant sunscreen for every day use. for the summer months when you're going to be at the beach or at the pool you definitely need something that's water resistant, but for the winter months it's okay to have something that's 30 or higher and has the broad screen protection. for july you definitely want to make sure that your sunscreen is water resistant and you want to get the water resistance for 80 minutes. none of the sun screens are really waterproof so you want to

> it's time now to visit our fox 29 athlete of the week. a lacrosse phenomenon from south jersey. fox junior reporter has our athlete athlete of the week. wine nikolaj from norristown high school. quinn nikolaj is the heart of the girls lacrosse team. coach says she's a beast on the field and you can't help but note is her. he is the he pit my of the athlete that we want. the younger kids feed off of her. she is just a complete leader and someone you need to have. what quinn has you can't teach, that inner drive, the desire to be the best that she can be. she has that and you you can't teach that. nikolaj says despite having

played soccer and softball she stuck with lacrosse for competitiveness and team atmosphere. coming into high school and able to bring with the girls every day, it's a bunch of sisters that i never had. the moorestown lacrosse high school team is one of the best in the nation having won 10 consecutive championships. the team had a tough last season. it was a tough year, there's no question about it. coming into next year, the plans are the same, to get back into the championships. i have no doubt that quinn is going to be leading the way. want to come back next year and put all the doubt ears aside and bring my team back to the championship game and to win it. she hopes that every time she steps foot on the field she can inspire her team. i don't want to speak for them, but as being the leader of the team i can help with every

democrat, michael cell and loren air once, the five officers killed during a sniper attack thursday at a protest over the killings of two black men at the hands of police officers in minnesota and louisiana. 43 year old thompson, a transit officer has six groan children and a new wife. he married a fellow officer just two weeks ago. 32 was on the dallas police force for five years and served three tours of duty in iraq with the navy. mike smith described as a quiet man who always put his family first. he devoted nearly 30 years of his life to the dallas police department. 27 year old michael cell living out his dream of working as a police officer, he joined the dallas pd in 2007 and worked as a sheriff's deputy in detroit, his hometown. and senior corporal loren air once was shot as the protest was coming to an end. he was rushed to the hospital where he died. he worked for the department for 14 years. protestors in philadelphia say their actions have remained
