i return to the scene of the murder and here i found her father walking through the weeds. he told me he comes here every single day and he was actually gathering rock to start building a memorial for his daughter. any frustration with the investigation or are the cops doing the best they can? >> the cops are doing a great job. they're working their tails off. reporter: we worked talked about this sketch that police have released. they have not set if this is the murderer but they said this man, they believe, was there. >> it is a potential witness that might have been in there, around at that time that might've seen something. it might be important what he saw but it might add another piece to the puzzle. >> he talked me about the gofundme campaign that he had been running. >> we want to raise $400,000 now because the more money out there, the more they will have this person of interest.

tropical storm hermine is bearing up the east coach coast as we approach this labor day weekend. it's not going to water down our plans. brett anderson, meteorologist, tell us, i hear we are in a cone of uncertainty. what does that mean? >> that means we are uncertain exactly what's going to happen this weekend in the new york area. actually i have some new information for you. it has been upgraded to a hurricane so don't be surprised about that. in terms of impact for us, we are looking probably saturday, late saturday sunday and unfortunately into labor day. i'm here to ruin your weekend especially if you wanted to go to the beach. >> let's say hypothetically one of us has an outdoor event on sunday.

u.s. swimmer made it tremendous homecoming to his hometown wednesday night. he took the silver medal in the 1500 men's freestyle in rio. he was awarded awarded a hero's welcome. congratulations conor. i'm really proud of you. >> i love the philadelphia zoo but they may have made the worst decision ever.

here's why. last friday, a gorilla gave birth to a newborn baby who is adorable. take a look. the gender has yet to be determined but that didn't stop the zoo from going to instagram to ask everyone to partake in the naming of the gorilla. most people said, and if you live under a rock, that's the name of the gorilla who attacked the child when he crawled into the gorilla attraction. they said sorry fans, we are not going to do that. >> veterans are committing suicide every day but imagine when that veteran is your friend. >> as soon as i heard he had shot himself in the parking lot, i couldn't believe it. it was totally different than anything that he would've done normally.

the only thing i can justify it by is by saying that he got beyond a point that he could handle. >> his friend peter committed suicide just outside the va hospital in new york. he was 76 years old, serving as a baylor from 1958 to 1962. he did suffer from ptsd deeper at his friend must've got to the point where he no longer had a reason to live. after living on painkillers from a car accident years earlier. >> that was his place of safety i think. when he didn't feel good physically, he went up to the va and saw somebody. i think all it would've taken his somebody to say let's get somebody to help you. i think it was totally preventable. he's not the only one expressing his concern. days after this happened, the new york times published this report with sources saying he was turned away for treatment, something the hospital that has denied. the fbi is investigating the
