atlantic city. so across the area for today, we're looking at 70 center city, upper 60's down the shore and lehigh val. coming up we'll talk about a major category four hurricane and where it's headed next. back to you. >> and we'll mention that right now because the caribbean is having to brace for the impact because of such a powerful storm. one of the most powerful we've had in recent history and it's continuing on its path northward right to you. >> hurricane matthew grew into extremely powerful and rare category five storm just before it started to weaken. we haven't seen a storm quite like this possibly going all the way back to 2007 and hurricane felix. the storm is projected to slam in a jay today and continue to travel north today. it's still too early to predict if the storm will make direct landfall in the united states or continue out into the atlantic ocean. multiple car accident called delays on the schuylkill expressway overnight. state police say it happened on the eastbound side of the expressway around 3:00 a.m. near

the montgomery drive off-ramp. it caused a significant backup. two people were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. police are still looking into the cause of the crash. 70:00 theme. northbound side of rose vest boulevard now back open after drivers experienced this massive backup. look at that. early this morning at least eight cars were involved in crash between roberts avenue and st. luke's street in germantown. police say four people had to be taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. and police in delaware counsel tear investigate a violent home invasion where man and his dog were both shot. investigators say someone broke into a home this is on pennel road in middletown township friday evening shooting the homeowner in the stomach. you can see where the man's dog wound up at the animal hospital. little pitbull terrier mix. name is faith. she was shot in the head. both the man and the dog are expected to be okay. but faith's eye had to be removed. she's recovering there at the west chester veterinary medical

center. the staff hopes she makes a speedy recovery. >> we're all rooting for her, we're praying for help, we're hoping she gets out of here within the next day or two and hoping her family is okay as well. >> an individual that shows recklessness to not only break into a home armed and injure a human but to shoot a dog has no in my opinion care, no compassion. >> it can always be expensive with these kind of unexpected events happen much there's a gofundme to help pay the dog's medical bill. brandywine spca is offering $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for that shooting. a final farewell for two wilmington firefighters killed in the line of duty one week ago. thousands from around the country came out for a joint memorial service to honor captain christopher leach and lieutenant jerky if he can kess. the two heroes died last saturday morning while fighting a fire at a home on lake view road. ceremony took place at the chase center on the wilmington

riverfront. fund has been set up for the children of the two fallen firefighters. vice-president joe biden attended the memorial. he made this emotional statement to the mourning families. >> their lives, their character lives never single one of you. you guys the rest of your life you'll have a tough decision. you're going to be asking yourself, what would dad do? i promise you that. i promise you that. >> prosecutors have charged beatrice ruiz with arson, murder and other chargings. she lived in the home and intentionally set the fire. philadelphia police are investigating a murder this happened in the point breeze neighborhood. here's what officials know. that they did find a man victim 31 years old and you can see all of the evidence markers out there. he was shot several times on the 1800 block of dickinson street. this was just after 8:30 last

night. the vick testimony was pronounced dead at presbyterian hospital just a short time later. no arrests have been made. it is 7:06. new jersey transit trains have been involved in more than 150 accidents according to federal data and that is caused more than $4 million in damage to tracks or equipment just since 2011. u.s. officials say months prior to that deadly train crash thursday in hoboken federal rail officials had found dozens of violations during an audit focusing on nj transit's safety and operations. investigators have recovered at least one of the black boxes from the train but they say they have not been able to get to whatever data may be inside. the ntsb says it's having some trouble getting into the front cab of the train that's where the camera that faces outward is mounted. the difficulty is because there is so much structural damage to that station and there are high levels of asbestos inside it. we do know one person died in that accident and more than a hundred others were injured. coming up on 7:07 right now.

happening right now good news. septa passengers can finally breathe a sigh of relief about the big morning commute tomorrow. should be back to normal. >> after months of crowded trains, delays and modified schedules, our jennifer joyce live at 30th vote station. jenny, it look like some relief is coming. >> reporter: yeah, this is great news for septa riders heading into a new work week. septa does acknowledge that riders could experience some overcrowding and there's always potential for delays with the transition like this. but that should subside as more trains return to service. septa regional rail trains have been operatin operating on varis weekend schedule for the last three months after 120 siller liner five trains were taken out of service when cracks were discovered. the summer season has been trying on commuters to say the adjusted schedules were inconvenient and trains were overcrowded. now, they can rejoice by tomorrow morning more than 50

drexel university professor bill rosenberg. good morning, sir. >> good morning. >> good morning. let's start right into the tax returns. what do you think about that? >> well, i think the reality we have to recognize is that these tax returns are from the mid '90's, number one. number two, most americans probably are empathetic to the fact that people like to pay as little in taxes as they can. it's a little uncomfortable, though, when he wants to talk about the way government spent when he's not a contributor. if you go back to 2012, the same types of issues came up with mitt romney. he paid less taxes than his secretary. so there's kind of an uneasiness about how taxes get paid and who actually pays them. >> most americans or most trump supportesupporters because whatn interesting the things that the analysts say should be huge bomb shells doesn't really move the needle one way or the other. >> i think that's the point. i think this tax issue only if

the computer models right now take it on off to the north but then eventually turn it back out to sea. still some uncertainties but we do have time to watch that system. in the meantime we still have that upper low level for us off to the west sitting and spinning so that's why we have the unsettled pattern. that weather authority seven day forecast will show for today cloud cover, drizzle. 70 degrees for the high. then finally breaking out into some sunshine by tomorrow. temperatures stay at or slightly below average. back to you. >> thanks so much, scott. now, change in california law could lead to nationwide changes. a bill signed by the governor last week eliminated the 10-year statute of limitations for bri bringing rape or child molestation charges. the new law was inspired by the bill cosby case and currently state law limits the prosecution of felony sex offense to 10 years after the offense is committed. the new law will take effect next january and it eliminates that statute of limitations but

will not affect that case it will not affect directly the bill cosby case. civil rights groups have warned that the legislation could lead to false convictions because witnesses and victims may not have clear memories of events that happened so long ago. so let's break it down. joining us by skype this morning attorney heather hanson. heather g morning. >> good morning, bill. >> so initially you kind of think about statute of limitations was put in place because of the fact that it makes it harder to get conviction years down the road. but what um plaque something like this actually have? >> it's not going to have a huge impact on the single cases because you're right just because there's no longer a statute of limitations doesn't mean the crime will be prosecuted. there still has to be evidence. and 10 years, 12 years, 15 years has passed it's less likely there's going to be good evidence. now, with that said in case like the cosby case or cases we've seen against schools or churches, big group cases where there's multiple victims, this

type of law will have an impact because those cases are now able to be brought. >> so the things that jump out you mentioned schools. we certainly have heard about some of the religious based cases and some of those child predator cases. is that who this will impact on a much larger scale because it's not going to impact cosby. it's not retroactive. >> it won't impact cosby. if another case like cosby came forward -- came about, then that would impact that. what it real is going time packet, yes, schools. the types of cases there's multiple victims them these people corroborating one another may create enough evidence and it all depends on the court but may create enough evidence to actually have the case go forward. the one it will not make huge impact we have to encourage women to come forward quickly and have the confidence and the strength to do so. >> from a legal standpoint and directly involved in this type of case, how is it a legal community responding to this because it seems like legally it's just creating a much harder

job if you're trying to get a prosecution? >> it's creating a much harder job on both sides, bill. you know it's harder to defend because evidence is lost, witnesses are gone, people move away, people die. it's harder to prosecute as we well. but the thing is, i think in general people are okay with this, because bad cases shouldn't be brought. good cases should be brought, and the other thing we haven't even discussed dna said changi changing. so over the years, the laws have tried to catch up with that change, and here in rape cases as evidence change, it may be we can get enough evidence many years later. >> we always talk about these cases before we start did you go them but one of things you brought up i thought was interesting legal stuff aside, this needs to be a call to offer more support to women. >> that's right. >> try to get active in other areas. tell us about that. >> i think it's so important for women to know that we stand behind them. so many times when women don't come forward because of fear in the case of cosby it was because he was so powerful. we need to have more discussions

also some locations could see up to three or 4 feet of rain. back to you. >> thanks so much, scott. caribbean is bracing for impact as one of the most powerful atlantic hurricanes in recent history continues its path north. >> scott was talking about hurricane matthew grown into extremely powerful storm. at one point it was already a cat five. weakened since that. we have not had storm like this since hurricane felix back in 2007. right now, that storm is proje projected to slam jamaica head on and then expected to continue to travel north today. it's too early to predict if this will make landfall or if it's going turn out into the atlantic. 8:01 is the time. we had pretty bad accident. multi car accident caused major delays overnight on the schuylkill expressway. state police say it happened eastbound side of the expressway about 3:00 a.m. right near city avenue and montgomery drive. this is some video from our traffic cameras before that this is video down on the scene that caused significant backup. two people were taken to the

hospital with injuries. also, northbound side of the roosevelt boulevard now back open but this was the problem pretty massive backup for the wee early hours. there were eight cars involved in this crash between roberts avenue and st. luke's street in germantown. police say four people had to be taken to the hospital. and police in delaware county are investigating a violent home invasion where a man and his dog were shot. investigators say someone broke in a home on pennel road in middletown township friday night. they shot the homeowner in the stomach and the man's dog a pitbull terrier mick named faith also shot in the head. both the man and his dog are expected to be okay but sadly fame's right eye had to be removed. she's recovering at west chester veterinary medical center and the staff hopes that faith makes a speedy recovery. >> we're all rooting for her, we're praying for her, we're hoping she gets out of here within the next day or two and hoping that her family is okay as well. >> an individual that shows recklessness to not only break

>> reporter: yeah, we have some great news to tell you about with a lot of riders going to be very excited with this news hearing that septa will return to its regular weekday schedule for regional rail train travel. however, septa acknowledges that passengers could still experience crowding with this natural transition. but that should subside as more trains return to service. septa regional rail trains have been operating on variations of a weekend schedule for the last three months after 120 silver liner five trains were taken out of service when cracks were discover. this summer season has been trying on commuters who say the adjusted schedule was inconvenient and trains were overcrowded. now, they can rejoice by tomorrow more than 50 repaired silver liner trains will be back in service. septa leased trains will supplement their system to ensure the return of weekday service. as trains are fixed, they'll move back into the rotation.

based on popular book stars ava green, sam jl jackson huge cast about a young boy who learns particular pure jar will the after he meets miss peregrine played i ava green in the fm his family is somehow connected to her and the children in her home who have special powers. now you can think of it like an x-men meets allison and wonder fanned meets edward scissor hands much the score is phenomenal. scenes are a maze. the beauty of this the throw back back to tim burton stop motion animation. there's some really cool sequences in the film you get to see old school stop motion animation if you're not familiar with that it's basically puppets moving 24 times in second to create mowing it could take weeks just to get minutes of a sequence done in a movie but this film is brilliant. i love tim burton a mixture of x-men and allison wonderland. the best tim burton since sweeney todd and my favorite is

edward scissor hands. i love the messages about acceptance and love i gave a four out of five. it feels long in the middle but once you get to the end it's all worth it. and quick story i want to share about my mom when i was teenager i went to new york city i went to a tim burton exhibit at the museum of modern art. and there the tickets were sold out my mom went up and told the person that i was a huge tim burton fan and they gave her the tickets. i fell in love with a stop motion film called vincent voiced by vincent price. you haven't seen that, check it out online called vincent one much tim burton's first stop motion films. next up is movie deep water horizon based on the true story of bp oil spill back in april of 2010. now we all know the story obviously in regard to the environmental impact it had but 11 lives were lost that day and that night and the film tells their story. specific story about the human beings were who were on board of that rig. now we get the human story of what happened to all of them specifically mike williams who is played by mark wahlberg in the film. made it out alive after jumping

10 stories into the fiery water to save his own live. now williams played by mark wahlberg in the film also have kurt russell a huge cast dylan o'brien, also a great role by john malkowicz it starts with very heavy dialogue and character building and really leads up to the actual explosion and the movie is beyond intense. you'll find yourself um herred in this intensity, the effects are amazing and the understanding of how the actual explosion occurred. peter berg the director who did lone survivor takes you down below the water and explains to you how everything happened. so if you're not familiar with the technology or science behind it it's very interesting to learn that and very easy to understand in the movie. emotional, intense, very informational as well. lone survivor was incredible. i loved peter berg as director much this is definitely one of his best movies he made so far. he also made friday night lights as well. i've gave this a 4.5 out of five. very intense, very much worth seeing because of the human story behind it. i'm kevin mccarthy, fox news.

right. we'll fight through it. >> song about beautiful people. are you one of the beautiful people? we'll talk about a dating service that's getting a lot of people's attention for wanting the beautiful people. ♪ let's take look at this morning's top stories. northbound side of roosevelt boulevard back open after drivers experienced this massive backup early this morning. at least eight cars were involved in a crash between roberts avenue and st. luke's street in germantown. police say four people had to be taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. months prior to thursday's deadly train crash in hoboken federal rail officials found dozens of violations during an audit focusing on nj transit safety and operations. investigators have found one of the black boxes from the train in the crash but they say they haven't been able to get to whatever data is inside of it. ntsb says it's having some trouble getting to that front cab of the train where there is a camera that faces outward that's where that's mounted. we know one person died in the

it seems like that could be dangerous because you can lose track of what you're spending. >> yes and no. millennials like it because you can then go back electronically you are keeping track of everything. for budgeting purposes you can look back and say, all right, this is where my money is going. this is where i spent it as opposed to cash, where cash, you know, you can spend all your money and come back a in later and say, where did my money go? at least here there is an electronic record of it. so from that point of view, it's easier to track. it does start to open you up more to identity theft. you know, this wasn't an issue, 20 years ago, 25 years ago but now as retailers get hacked, the more you spend online the more you spend using these apps it does open you up a little more and makes you vulnerable. >> at least you're spenting money that actually have to opposed with a credit card you money don't you have that was my whole problem in college. i was using credit -- paying for

now, it's not going to be a wash out of day kind of similar to yesterday. we're talking about some of that low level moisture this morning mist and drizzle but take look what's happening right now in the caribbean. a monster of a hurricane. hurricane matthew a category four hurricane. hurricane warnings for jamaica, parts of cuba, also, haiti. so we are expecting it to move on off to the northwest right now at 5 miles an hour but early in the week moving through these locations mudslid mudslides of e we're talking about several feet of rainfall. by the latter part of next week, around the bahamas but most of the computer models right now want to eventually take it back out to sea. still some uncertainty but we have time to watch it interaction with land and also as it moves toward the lower 48 we have time to watch those computer models to see if it will indeed head back out to sea. for us 61 degrees right now. humidity at 93%. it's going stay kind of dreary this morning. mist and drizzle.

paying federal taxes for 18 years. the times says three pages of documents were sent to a reporter last month with a postmark from new york city and a return address of the trump tower. trump's campaign calls this document illegally possible taped and noted that trump has paid hundreds of millions of dollars in tacks. in the meantime, donald trump is talking about a new audio tape that was leaked where hillary clinton could be heard apparently criticizing bernie sanders supporters as quote living in their parent's basements and trapped in dead end careers. >> a new audio tape that has surfaced just yesterday from another one of hillary's high roller fundraisers shows her demeaning and mocking bernie sanders and all of his supporters. >> boo! >> and, you know, i'll tell you something. we have a much bigger movement than bernie sanders ever had. >> the clinton campaign says the
