>> road closures. the ben franklin parkway from arch to 6th to 16th and mark from fifth to 17th, mlk drive. the streets are expected to reopen by 2:00 p.m. keep in mind for your saturday plans. let's take a look at some top stories. a man consulted after being hit by car late last night in mayfair. it happened around 11:30 along roosevelt boulevard in bustleton avenue. you can how badly the car is banged up. the driver did stay on scene there. police are still investigating it's cause of that crash. no word yet on any charges driver could face. a family desperate to find the person who hit and killed their young family member. employees say 8-year-old jayana pow and her brother were walking home from school when the driver ran her over and never stopped. let's get out to jennifer joyce live near the scene in overbrook

with more. >> reporter: devastating to hear your child died in an accident but to hear that the driver didn't pull over, didn't stop, didn't attempt to help this 8-year-old girl has the child's family furious and heart broken. this accident happened yesterday afternoon. apparently, jayana powell was on her way home from school with her brother when he was hit boy a car and killed. it was 3:15 p.m. jayana again walking with her brother, according to family who say the pair went to cross the street at lansdowne avenue and 63rd street when jayana was struck. family members tell us the little girl was thrown several feet into the air. the driver who hit her didn't stay. didn't attempt to help the child. instead, took off. jayana was transported to chop where she died while police try to track down the driver jayana's family begins the grieving process hoping the driver will be caught and they will get closure. >> whoever did this, i want you

intention. i don't think declawing is appropriate but if there are exceptions made in consultation way veterinarian we're going to prevent a lot of cats from losing their homes and avoiding any catastrophics. a lot of people don't understand, the humane society says, in fact, it is an unnecessary surgery that provides no medical benefits to the cat. they likened it to cutting off a human's finger. >> the surgery is certainly not ideal. i don't think cats should have the surgery. but if we're weighing a cat losing home going out on the street, being put to sleep, then we have to see if this surgery, which can be done in a humane way and minimizing any pain, that's something that has to be

dr. a joins us from rittenhouse den. >> sean says thanks for inviting me in on this segment. a lot of people don't like to go to the dentist because they're scared >> i am not. i never had a cavity, 35 years, never had a cavity. >> do you like that >> that is super impressive. sometimes people sit down in the chair and it's more than just a cavity or cleaning, you can start noticing some things. we're going to walk through four things, bad breath >> a lot of patients come in with this complaint, a little embarrassed about it. they don't want to talk about it. but it's actually a really common and the most common reason we get bad breath is just not good brushing and flossing. but there's also two other reason that is cause bad breath that have nothing to do with your oral hygiene, if you're just getting over like a cold or an upper respiratory virus, you have a little post nasal drip and you notice your breath is getting funky, might be a sinus

the driver stayed on scene. police are still investigating the cause of that crash. no word yet on any charges. the driver could face. this morning, a family desperate to find the person who hit and killed their young family member, 8-year-old jayanna powell and her brother were walking home from school yesterday when the driver ran her over and kept going. let's get out to jennifer joyce live near the scene in overbrook this morning. hi, jenny. >> reporter: good morning, lauren. well, jayanna powell's uncle apparently own as barbershop in the area and he pledged as much as 20 grand to anyone that provides information that leads to an arrest. their precious princess 8-year-old jayanna powell was hit by a car yesterday and killed. child's grandfather tells fob jayanna was walking home from school with her 10-year-old brother, the pair holding hands attempted to cross the street at lansdowne avenue and 63rd when

they were both struck by a passing motorist. driver didn't stop, and kept going. the boy was apparently knocked back but received minor injuries while jayanna took the brunt of the hit. family members say she was thrown several feet into the air. the child was transported to chop where she died. family members make a plea for the driver to come forward, people in the area tell us car fly up and down lansdowne and say it's very dangerous. >> everybody is just fly right up and down. so, you know, whoever got hit today, i don't know, but i immediately called my son to make sure it wasn't him. but it is dangerous and it's hard crossing the street >> whoever did this, i want you to know that you're causing my family a great deal of pain. this is the biggest loss we ever had to take, ever. you took our princess, she's gone now. >> so the driver is at large, police have also not yet recovered the vehicle involved.
