my hair was wet and a man walked in and had to put my scarf on. and then they had to take me to a back room where she continued to do my hair. it was isolated there was a regular chair and no mirror. >> salon has been open for about a week and reviews are in. so far it is a hit. and not just here in new york but all over the country. that is just from muslim women. >> i got messages from orthodox jewish women who say it was amazing. we love what you're doing. and we would like a space like this. in the christian women said we support your hair and we love what you're doing. in essence, it is not for only one person. >> i happened to read your note this my so i know you have a problem with segregation. so i asked her about that too. >> it is not segregation. it is not telling men, i mean they are barbershops right? and it's like, just because this got out there.there are many places that are just for

he takes his chair, clippers, supplies and a car battery to the streets of philadelphia to give the homeless haircuts. completely free of charge. he gets them back on their feet and feeling confident again. he told us, haircuts for the homeless. >> i quit my job. quit my job and i knew i wanted to do something to give back. so i combined my 10+ years in barbering with my passion for people.so i have haircuts for the homeless. >> i met him and he was in philadelphia this morning right near the bridge. it did not take long for us to find someone in need. [inaudible] >> now he has had interviews lined up. today he offered a free haircut to this man. >> i am feeling good right now. it only took a few minutes to show a little compassion.

>> that is him cutting hair the homeless. less than one month here in philadelphia but the support has been giant. his 10 million views on his page already in his ultimate goal is to start a nonprofit. he like other barbers to start a network to help everybody out on the streets. he also has an act that he started called haircuts for the homeless to tell you where he is every day. what he is doing, who is helping. also testimonials and what he will do next. >> i can see the new city slogan. yeah, we got homeless but many are well groomed. >> it has been proven that one of the best ways to put someone on the right half and their behavior is to change your physical appearance. so i worked with gang members. when they want to change your lives first thing you do is put them in a suit. >> you never know what story led them to where they are today. by just giving c able to give this sense of dignity is something so easily lost in the homeless population. >> he still is without a shower

he says they are public servants. he did not want to go on camera but he showed me chanel's high school diploma. he graduated from a school of troubled youth to show him his son has an education. richard lewis has said he does not believe his son killed karina. john kelly does not mince words. he says even though he believes chanel lewis had not killed anyone before katrina, chanel lewis is a budding serial killer. >> there is no way that this guy was ever going to rape again and not kill. >> what will the family do? now that chanel lewis is headed towards trial? they raise over $280,000 of award money during the six months that the case was open. and he says he wants to give all of that to charity and established a charity and karina's name. chanel lewis's next court date will be on february 21. we will keep you updated. for all of the updates you can follow me at chasing news.

inspiration for me personally. i grew up reading his poems and renie watson, who is a children's book author has been at the forefront of revitalizing the home. she says the goal is to turn it into a writing center. >> if you like the legacy is here to help us process what is happening in our world today. and how the young people have a state to write their studies and where they can celebrate every day unsung heroes and also kind of put on record how they feel about what is going on in the world right now. >> at a time when our country is divided, i think we can all still use some inspiration. his words are relevant today. i would like to read his poem, i two. i to send america. i am the darker brother, they send me to eat in the kitchen when company comes. but i laugh and eat well and grow strong. tomorrow i will be at the table when company comes. nobody will dare say to me eat
