been playing basketball for 20 years. he knows when hard work pays off. it went in and the crowd went nuts. dalton is captain of the team at bancroft, a school for rid with disabilities, but for dalton it is extra special because his father is his coach. just being with him, that's the most important. i just love watching him play. before he started coaching, dalton's father, scott, came to every game. but now dalton gets guidance from him at home and on the court. it makes me prouderment it makes me want to have a lot of confidence in himself. here at bancroft dalton has achieved great successes, but it's the way he influences those around him that make him such an asset to this team. he's my brother. brothers forever. now that dalton has graduated from bancroft he has his sites set on the future and he hopes

history month and one local teacher taking a hands-on approach to teach them about famous african-americans in what's being called a living museum. joining us now, principal stephanie -- how do you say your last name. >> finnen. > your guys are at charter school in frankford. >> tell me all about this, why this idea of the living museum? >> before i joined the air procedure a team. i was actually an educator at the charter school and we had done the living museum before but i had never seen it before then. the way the children come into school that day specifically and they're dressed up as african-americans, they are see reciting everything in regard to their personal, the important facts; the way they embody i, you begin to see the students afterwards begin to shape the i deals around the person they have and they begin to mimic the

life of the person. they're adorable. they're in our studio. when you see something like this happening at your school why is it so important for students to be involved in this? itself it's very important to have our students have an understanding of the diverse culture going on today. a better understanding of themselves and the people they're surrounded by. sometimes we feel we're far removed from history and sometimes you say certain names and you realize kids don't know who these people are, is that another reason why this is so important? >> absolutely. when we select the students and we select african americans i have a couple of rules one because i'm a historian by training. they cannot be alive. we really want people who they would not know at all, they've never heard of. so that's really important because it exposes them to people that they've never heard of who had made such great contributions not only to african-american, wall tour,
