critical condition after a car slams into her in hunting park. moments later the driver gone. the woman at temple university hospital and that's where jennaphr joyce is joining us live this morning, hi, jenny. >> police told me a short time ago that woman was transported with a critical head injury she remains recovering from this accident temple university hospital after struck by hit-and-run driver overnight. the accident happened 1:30 this morning lawrence and wyoming avenue in hunting park section of city. according to accident investigators this woman was crossing street when she was hit by a dark-colored car. there's no specific information about the striking vehicle at this time except it now has a broken whipped shield. police are hoping that witnesses or anyone who has any information comes forward to them to help move this investigation forward. again i talked to police a short time ago. she has a critical head injury. however they told me this victim is expected to survive,

officer hailed a hero who ran into a burning building to save people inside. bright and brutal flames lit up the night sky as fire ravaged ra mad ain off landis in route 55 vineland early yesterday morning. fire investigators say officer jonathan rodriguez ran into that building and banged on several hotel doors to get people to safety a woman in the room where the fire started was hospitalized for burns. officer rodriguez suffered smoke inhalation and spoke with us by phone from his hospital room. >> it feels good you know people are calling me a hero i don't see much as a here" i see myself as doing my job effectively. officer rodriguez is expected to be released from the hospital sometime today despite guests saying they did not hear the fire alarm the hotel manager says the system was indeed working. fire officials are investigating the cause. happening today, voters in newcastle country, delaware, deciding the balance of power

can help you out if you have your ipod handy. it's important we all learn cpr. a big problem in philadelphia is many people that collapse are surrounded by family and friends and others who don't know how to do cpr. >> don't you think they should teach this in schools. this is something i never learned. if you're lifeguard maybe you were taught this. but don't you think this is something we should learn in high school maybe. >> absolutely. and there are programs underway in philadelphia to support and try to encourage schools and work with schools to learn cpr. the american heart associationtion has been very involved in this and actually wanted to show you a product they make now i should tell you they're not paying me to say this this is cpr training kit with video self instruction capability you can learn it in your home on your own in inflatable mannequin you can see here the inflatable mannequin they have that's important to be used in schools with kids to learn cpr.
