once again those winds are going to be a little bit 37 degrees through the later parts of thes. but as we head throug our monday, tuesday,emratures will start to rebound. i've got that forecast in just a bit, guys. >> monica, thank you so much. developing this morning arc child is in critical condition after surviving a house fire in west oak lane. firefighters rushed to the home yesterday evening along the 6500 block of bow eighty three street and rescued the youngster from upstairs bedroom. police not releasing the child's identity but they do tell us the child is recovering at children's hospital. the parents were also home and taken to the hospital for minor injuries. officials are still investigating the cause of that fire. and police have identified the victim who was killed in a hit-and-run and then hit again in pottstown. police say 24-year-old donald prunell was walk to go work friday night along route 100 near shoemaker road. that's when somebody driving a dark colored pike yup truck hit him.

that driver took off. another car hit prunell but that driver stopped didn't call police. prunell died at the scene. 71-year-old philadelphia woman is facing assault charges. she is accused of stabbing a fid rage. ma attack came afteraware. craig allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest. she's now out on bond. several hundred people gathered in bensalem for rally in support of president trump. that event taking place at neshaminy state park and hosted by the organization people for trump. organizers say the rally is meant to promote positivity and the idea of working together to make america greater for all. this was one of many march for trump rallies that happened throughout our area and around the country. >> i believe that we're here not in opposition to any party or any other group of people that we're here as americans to make america greater for everybody including the people that have

for us, a chilly evening, 31 degrees around 7:00 o'clock. but no worries. as we head into the new work week we're talking monday and tuesday temperatures are rebou rebounding. i've got a look at the forecast coming up in just a bit. guys. >> monica, thank you so much. 7:33 this morning. we have learned this week that there are new concerns about cancer in young people at american cancer society study found millennials born after 1990 have doubled the risk of colon cancer and quadrupled the risk of rectal cancer compared to baby boomers. dr. maryann ritchie from the sidney kimmel cancer center joins us to expand more on this. i think every article i read when people are saying oh, my goodness, the question is why, no one knows. >> well, thank you for having me for starter. >> of course. >> i brought you both little treats. colon cancer awareness bracele bracelets. >> beautiful. >> thank you. >> they're from tiffany's. [ laughter ] >> it's so important because there are campaigns such as the

pink campaigns and the awareness of breast cancer is out there. >> yes. >> but we're working hard to get colon cancer awareness in the news because it is the number two cause of cancer death, and as we see this rise in two types of cancer, the large intestine made up the colon about 5 feet long and the 6-inch portion is the rectum two slightly different cancers treated slightly differently but what we're seeing is this as you said if my son was born in 1990. >> right. >> so his risk now at almost age 27 is double the risk for colon cancer, quadruple the risk for rectal cancer those who are 27 born in 1950. >> why? >> well, it remains to be seen, because obesity, sedentary lifestyle, these thing that are blamed for cole land cancer in general and we see this age group that's parsed from people over age 55.

>> so it's scary to think about and then you want to think, what do i look out for? what are the warning signs? what are they? >> well, unfortunately, when young people are diagnosed, it's later because we don't suspect it. you know when the primary care do doctor sees them it's probably a hemorrhoid or food poisoning or such. >> right. >> but if you have the symptoms persist and that could be anything from persistent belly pain, unexplained weight loss, rectal bleeding, an lot of times people are told rectal bleeding it's not normal type rectal bleeding. it could be something innocent like hemorrhoids but you don't know. >> right. >> and so the gold standard for testing patient social security colonscopy. colonoscopy we go in my job as gi doctor is to do go in, find polyps which are benign growths most of the time. take them out before they turn to cancer or find early cancer when it's more treatable. young people delay and delay and diagnosis is harder to cure. it's heartbreaking. >> when you're young you think you're invincible.

going to go for lunch? you sit at the table and you just 57 out. >> absolutely. absolutely. a lot of too because you're so stressed during the day like that time just to relax and enjoy some food. but you want to make sure again that you're not overeating because not only are you consuming too many calories, but then you're setting yourself up for failure at dinnertime. having good portions at lunch is good. usually getting some good lean protein what we usually recommend is about 5-ounces of protein which ends up being about a palm size for women. >> maybe. >> palm and a half two to two for men half of your plate in veggies. on starchy veggies. it adds good color there. my palms are the same size as men's because i have big hands. >> i'm eating the same portion size as sean. >> look at this? can you see this. >> can you pal am basketball. >> my hand is bigger than sean. i can eat a lot of meat. >> more protein. >> making sure you get your veggies and in your protein. and then, a lot of times if

you're going out to lunch time, out for lunch they will have large portions on the plate there. >> they do. >> one of the big things in that case ask for a to go container put half of the portion in that so you can take it home and then you don't have to worry about cook fog dinner because you have it for dinner. that's such a smart idea. i never do it. i think about eight lot because i hear it's a good idea. i never do it though. >> yeah. so really when you're thinking about your lunch time portions or any time you're going out, thinking about what you're going to be doing about an hour beforehand makes all the difference. you know, we know not to go into the grocery store and shop when we're hungry. >> absolutely. >> worse hasn't agree that's dangerous time to decide what you're eating there. so when you're thinking about lunch time, if you know it will be a busy morning, think in advance as far as what you're going to have because then you're making a decision when you're not starving and famish and if you go in, okay, i'm going to get the chicken and brussel sprouts i'll take that to go container right from the beginning. >> i love it. off decision made.

>> snacks. >> are these a few snacks. >> absolutely. other thing you want to make sure that you get good healthy fats in throughout your day. and nuts important -- that's important to make sure you're getting good portions, too, fat will actually help you feel full but you want to make sure that you're not overeating especially with nuts. those are ones that are very palpable. >> so easy. >> if you're stressed your popping those babies pretty quickly. yup. so you can see if you have it out in a bowl like that you're grabbing handfuls at a time. >> right. >> handfuls is actually a single portion so that's what you should be having overall. >> wow. >> if having a pack is one that's helpful for you, absolutely go with that. or the guacamole another good healthy fat there. but the portions are important, too. >> i love when they say the 100 calories. >> you're always like i'm safe. i know exactly how much i ate. >> yeah. >> i love them. >> pop a few now, right? >> he's a mess. >> thank you for coming in. >> absolutely. >> it is difficult for many people to put down their devices for even just a few minutes.
