patrick's day parade, you forget, it is not actually saint patrick's day but we're so in the mood for it. >> because officially it is friday, so it came early and this cold weather. >> i know. we've got snowstorm on the horizon. we've got the full coverage of it here on fox 29. >> that's market street, block off because the parade route comes right here by our station, that's right in front of independence mall. we'll talk more about that coming up. the weather is our big story today? >> yes, the colds nare place, talking temperatures into the 20's as we head out early this morning. make sure to bundle up if you are headed to the parade this morning, it is going to stay cold throughout most of the day, 24 degrees in philadelphia, 19 for those of us in pottstown, lancaster coming in at 19. some of russ actually into the teens, but you're going to want to dress whether you are your temperatures are in the 20's or the 30's, you want to dress for the teens. because we've got bit of windchill factor out there. nothing too bad. talking winds ten, 15 miles

per hour, so, for our bus stop buddy forecast, yes, i have him in his saint patrick's day gear but bundled with mittens and scarfs and hats if you can. for the saint patrick's day parade temperatures mid 20's, parade starts around noontime, into the low 30's, and then those wind at about 10 miles per hour around 3:00 p.m. temperatures at about 37 degrees. but we have a snowstorm ahead. we're talking gusty winds, and a whole lot of snow. i've got breakdown for you coming up and look at the full forecast. but for now a winter storm watch in effect for the entire region minus cape may county. but they're still expecting some bad weather with that wind kicking up, than winter storm watch monday night into tuesday evening. make sure to stay with us, we'll keep you to up date with how the forecast pans out. >> it will be a coal one, be sure to bundle up. all right, happening today. pennsylvania governor tom wolf will be in philadelphia to talk to supporters t the

meeting held by individual northwest philadelphia, group focused on treads in order to make their voices heard in congress. the meeting will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the unitarian society of germantown 6500 block of lincoln drive. also happening today, pennsylvania senator bob kacie will be holding his first town hall meeting. the event will take place this afternoon from 2:30 until 4:00 n auditorium inside of the pen museum. democrats saying the meeting in response to constituents asking for face-to-face conversationsment senator casey's town hall first in the is her eat every state-wide town hauls taking place in philadelphia. let's get to some breaking news this morning, in south jersey one person has died after being hit by an s.u.v. it happened at the intersection of route 73 and fellowship road in mt. laurel. this was around 3:30 this morning. the black suv involved did stay on the scene.

the person was taken to virtua hospital in marlton where they were pronounced dead. police now investigating the cause of that crash. >> chester county, this is around midnight, crews were called to the 200 block of meadow lake drive in kolb township to find two alarm fire, flames spread to go seven ants in that building. firefighters working to get the flames under control in about an hour. luckily, no one was hurt. the cause of the fire now under investigation. >> police searching for two people wanted for shooting a 13 year old boy right in the head. we first told you about the story yesterday on good day. police just released these two surveillance pictures of the suspects at the goldfish restaurant on west hunting park avenue late friday night. the victim, sitting at the table with friends, when two men walk in. investigators say the men had a conversation with the boy who was then shot in the head. lying on the floor unresponsive when police --

three year old girl died of her injuries, two very young girls still being treated for burns. they are in critical condition. >> and lancaster county police say it was not apple juice that sent two children to the hospital we first told but that story, a few days ago. two kids were returned to the hospital after something burned their mouths and throats. it was a ten year old boy and a four year old. at first, police suspected it was the juice they drank at a local restaurant. now they are saying authorities don't know what substance the kids ingested. both kids are doing well this morning. and, is today your birthday? even if it is not, wal-mart still wants to you celebrate. major retailer declaring march s birthday. the big box retailer will be giving out one free cupcake to each person at their super centers, from 1:00 until 4:00 today. all do you have do show up, either pick a chocolate or vanilla cupcake with butter cream or whipped topping. the only requirement is just to be there. i love your reaction, yummy.

below the 40 degrees point. all right, let's track a storm. all the way from the pacific northwest down through the great lakes, colliding with a coastal storm. and this is going to be bringing us snow. the most significant snow possibly that we've seen all season. and we've got two systems speeding into each other. and they're going to collide and strengthen, as they reach into the mid-atlantic and new england area. and again, that's going to be bridging some snow, not only that, but wind. that's why we're talking a storm here. it is really gusty winds, especially along the coastline, so, let's take you into your future cast, a bit of closer look. notice, that we stay sunny through today, partly sunny, at least.& and then into monday morning, monday afternoon, we start to see more clouds push in. it is really not until monday evening that the snow moves in up through delaware, through south jersey, and then there may be a switch-over into south jersey cape may county and back into delaware. switch over to rain, which would lower their snowfall totals. but in southeastern

pennsylvania, does look like it stays at least all snow, that's where we will see some of the highest amounts. here is a look at the possible snow amounts. you can see, philadelphia right on the cusp kind of six to 12 inches possible in philadelphia, wilmington, and up into trenton. now, philadelphia little closer to that 12 to 18 mark, and so they could see on the higher end that far six to 12. so, we could possibly be seeing some double digits, not triple digits, double digits close to philadelphia, close to trenton, into lancaster, allentown expecting 12 to 18 inches possible. now, this is just preliminary, a lot of this could change, especially, if the track of this heads a little bit further west, what we will see are some lower snowfall totals. because there might and change-over to rain. but what we do know is this is a significant snow that's going to be headed our way monday night into tuesday. double digits possibly for some of us inland. and then the damaging winds,

that's going to be a big one, power outages, expected, and coastal flooding. timing, again, monday night, all the way into wednesday morning. wednesday morning, that would be more of the wrap around not really accumulating to much. and the worse of it is expected tuesday morning. get the shovels ready. snow blowers ready. and then temperatures into the upper 30's, through monday, and low 30's, after the snow has start today move out. lauren? >> monica, thank you so much. well, saint patrick's day is officially on friday, but we are getting early start on the celebration today with philadelphia's saint patrick's day parade. sabina kuriakose live out in the elements, at the parade, with all of the preparations. apparently your camera was frozen earlier? >> reporter: hey, good morning, lauren, i can't wait for this parade. we do it every year. and it is always so much fun. okay, so, right now, we're outside of st. patrick's at 20th and locust, this is where things are going to kind of kick off. they'll have mass this morning here around 9:15. they're going have a procession with pipes, and everything.

and then, from mass we head over to 16th and jfk. that's where kind of the whole marching and everything is going to start. let's go to video we got for you from last year, just to give you idea of the sites and sounds and just how awesome this is. i mean, i know we have been talking about the weather being little cold today. but i can tell you that when you're out here with everybody just happy and celebrating it really feels really warm with all of that spirit. now of course we will have floats, we'll have dance groups, marching bands, all kind of performances. did you know that this is the 247th annual saint patrick's day parade in philadelphia? that makes it older, than the declaration of independence, more than irish history, more than american history, it is philadelphia history, of course fox 29 is going to bring it to you live, noon to 3:00 all day long. we can't wait to do it. 20,000 people are going to participate in this parade.

intersection every route 73 and fellowship road over in mt. laurel. it was around 3:30 this morning, the black suv involved did stay on the scene. the person was taken to virtua hospital in marlton, where they were pronounced dead. police are investigating the cause. also, a fire rips through an apartment building in chester county around midnight. crews were called to the 200 block every meadow lake drive in caln township to find two alarm fire on the upper floors. the flames spreading to seven apartment, in the building, firefighters working to get the flames under control, in about an hour, no one was hurt, the cause of the fire now under investigation. police searching for two people wanted for shooting a 13 year old in the head. we first told but this story yesterday on good day. police just released these two surveillance pictures of the suspects at the goldfish restaurant on west hunting park avenue late friday night. the victim is sitting at a table with friends when two men walk in. investigators say they had a conversation about the boy. and then shot him in the head.

but just to start with this morning, we've got some nice sunshine, maybe that's why those runners were out there, trying to take advantage of the sun before the big winter storm heads our way. your high for today, 37 degrees in philadelphia. 34 degrees in trenton. mount pocono coming in at about 23 degrees later this afternoon. let's get right to future cast, and i will a show you that the rest of today pretty quiet, even into monday, what we will see just some clouds beginning to filter in ahead of the system. when the system does arrive, expecting that around monday evening through the overnight. moving up through delaware, south jersey, into southeast pennsylvania, into early tuesday morning. now, some of the models have this system staying far off the coast. that would mean a lot of snow through the southeast. some models actually have it pushed a little further eastwards, closer to the coastline, and that's pushing that rain-snow mix a little bit further westward, into philadelphia. and areas like wilmington, that's really going to control

how much this forecast and snow accumulation has change. areas like south jersey and delaware not expecting as much, they'll see little rain mix in. so that means a limited amount of snow. here's what we're looking for preliminary snowfall totals. philadelphia, trenton, area every south into wilmington, possibly six to 12 inches. it could be less if that change-over moves in quickly. and it moves in as rain. so we will say six to 12 possibly with areas north and west where they're going to stay mostly snow. could see higher than a foot of snowfall. that's a possibility, worse case scenario. but again, if this system moves a little bit further eastward, we could see less snowfall totals. but all we know is that it is going to be a significant storm system. bringing possibly some areas double digits. and power outages, because of that win. it is going to be windy storm system. bringing coastal flooding possible as we head into

>> breaking this morning, a fire breaks out, crews called to 200 block meadow lake drive caln township to find two alarm fire on the upper floors there, the flames spreading to seven ants, inside that building. firefighters working to get the flames under control, in about an hour, and no one was hurt, and the cause of the fire is now un investigation. >> also breaking, one person has died in mt. laurel, new jersey after being hit by an s.u.v. this happened at the intersection of route 73 and fellowship road around 3:30 this morning. the black suv involved did stay on scene. the person was taken to virtua hospital in marlton where they were pronounced dead, police now investigating the cause. welcome back. you're watching good day weekend, monica here for scott. and you're here on a chilly sunday.

>> yep, starting offer in the 20's, some areas, even into the teens. like in pottstown, at 19 degrees, we've got 24 for those of us in philadelphia, atlantic city coming into the low 20's, so it is cold to start w feeling even colder, because of that winds, there is a bit of a breeze out there. so heading out, i've got bus stop buddy, dressed up in his green for the saint patrick he's day parade. he'll want to layer up that green. maybe wear an eagles jacket. that was my idea earlier. here is saint patrick's day parade forecast calling for temperatures into the low 30's, still near freezing at around noontime as the parade kicks off. then throughout the rest of the parade around 3:00 we top out at about 37 degrees winds 10 miles per hour, but i know everybody's talking about the big storm on the horizon, and it will be bringing us some snow, some significant snow, here in pennsylvania, new jersey, and delaware, also, going to be dealing with a lot of winds. so, some coastal flooding possible. we've got winter storm watch already in place monday night, all the way through tuesday evening. i've got a look at the

warm. it is cold outside. and it is cold in here, too. >> it is. >> twenty-four chilly degrees out there. looks like a lot more activity since we first checked in at what 7:00 this morning, because everyone is starting to show up now for the big parade. >> i know. already, people are trying to get their spots in line on the route. maybe some of them are even trying to check out some of the sunnier spots. so they can stay warm? >> that's smart. dow not blame them. >> yes. so we will see cold temperatures through the day today, topping out, thinking, 37 degrees here in philadelphia. you can see 34 degrees for those every just allentown, into wilmington, 38. most every us staying below that 40 degrees mark. in your future cast, you can see, that the quiet at least through today, and even into monday, monday morning, we're got some nice sunshine, at least to start with, then as we head into the afternoon, we will see the clouds really filter in ahead of the system that will be bringing us some snow, especially into southeast pennsylvania, but i want you to notice this is going to in some areas switch

over to rain. it does look like that switch over will be in northern delaware, all the way up into trenton, that's going to low some of the snowfall totals. if this was all snow event, those snowfall totals would be really high. but, since there is a switch-over, especially in south jersey, and into delaware, there is going to be less snowfall amounts, and more rainfall amounts, in those areas. so, three to 6 inches in south jersey, possibly into delaware, thinking trenton in philadelphia through wilmington, six to 12 inches. that's arrange, if this system does start to push a little bit in one direction, we could see less snowfall totals. so, we'll have to see how it all pans out. this is the highest amounts expected and in the northwestern part up into the lehigh valley, the poconos, there is a possibility for some areas to see over a foot of snowfall. but again, that forecast is preliminary, it could change, but what we do know it is a significant snow, worrying about some damaging wind, power outages, and coastal flooding. that is actually as we head
