yesterday we road the subway to check it out first happened and keep an eye on new police effort. he said he saw zero issues on day one of of in new edition to keep everyone safe as school let's out. in the last couple weeks we had seen major brawls between teens as they are leaving school. one fight led to a girl's hair being lit on fire on thursday nearly a dozen students were arrested for their involvement in recent fights now facing felony charges and violence among philly seen on teens after school alarming not only to fellow students, but families and adult riders on the trains witnesses say these frightening act. for that reason septa is increasing patrols on trps lines when school let's out making presence known and ste stepping in to stop any sign of be behavior. yesterday, day one of enhanced enforcement. again we didn't see any problems. philly pd wanted to stay that way. yesterday, police announce aid new initiative of their own. mentorship program between

police officers who volunteer their time to mentor philly youth. they're hoping this one-on-one positive interaction between city children and police help to build stronger communities. >> this is a great opportunity for the police department to get involved with young people and show them who police police officers are as people. families who are in some cases struggling mightily to provide for their family what's they need. thank you for being that additional mentor, inspiration, coach. and the goal of the program is to help children see that police are people, too. and they actually may have a lot in common weapon officers. the program is called big in blue. it's actually part of a nationwide initiative to again, help improve relations between the community and the police. while also giving these children a role model. buddy, someone to look up to. lauren you know first happened
