you'll like today as well. i do anticipate partly sunny mostly cloudy skies. so weather by the numbers on scale of one to ten, what about an eight for your sunday? so once again, looking pretty good. comfortable temperatures out there. more clouds than sunshine for today. but it looks like the entire day will stay dry. however, overnight tonight into monday, watching out for some showers. as we look at ultimate doppler the last six hours, we're dry. we're quiet. we'll call it partly sunny to start out there but once again we will see more clouds moving in later on today. off on the south a cluster of showers and thunderstorms some of that activity will eventually head in our direction come tonight and into tomorrow. so as we focus in on those temperatures right now, we have 62 millville, 61 degrees in atlantic city. mid 50s north and west. 57 degrees right now in trenton and 62 in wilmington. so bottom line that forecast partly sunny to mostly cloudy

for today. temperatures not that bad. highs topping out in philadelphia right around 74 degrees. as we move toward tomorrow, temperatures top out in the low 80s tomorrow afternoon. but it looks like tomorrow morning the best chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms we'll put that chance tomorrow at 50%. much more in the entire forecast down the shore, what to expect for the pocono mountains on this sunday into monday coming up. over to you. >> scott, thank you so much. we have sad breaking news we're ology on this sunday morning. three people are dead following a house fire in north philadelphia. we have a live look from burke street where that fire broke out shortly before 5:00 o'clock this morning along north sixth stre street. jennifer joyce is headed to the scene but she's had a chance to speak with authorities who were there investigating the fire. she joins us by phone with the very latest on what she found out. hi, jenn 92. >> reporter: good morning, lauren. we are hearing that this fire happened about two and a half hours ago around 4:30. we do know that by 4:45,

firefighters were fully involved. there were reports of heavy fire shooting out of the home again this is north sixth street between burke and montgomery. what police are telling us right now is that it is a confirmed triple fatal, a nine-year-old boy was transported to hahnemann hospital where he died. firefighters once they got inside the home they did find a seven-year-old boy and a 52-year-old woman deceased inside the home. so we know fire crews are on scene. we have as you can see a live picture. we have a photographer there now. we are on our way and we are awaiting an update from fire officials. now, lauren, this is just one week after a triple fatal we covered in the wynnefield section of the city that was last sunday. in that case, we do know that there were no smoke detectors. so at this point it is still early in this investigation. we don't know a cause of the fire. we don't know where the fire started and we don't know

whether or not there were working smoke detectors but what we do know a very very sad scene in north philadelphia on this holiday weekend again three people deceased including a seven-year-old boy, a nine-year-old boy and a 52-year-old woman. this is the story. we'll be following all morning and as soon as we get you there -- as soon as we get there, we'll provide a live report, lauren. >> jenny, such a sad start to our sunday. thank you for the hustle. >> always man is dead following a shooting in wynnefield. police say this happened at 2:0k of will ton street. investigators found a trail of blood located the victim, collapsed on nearby heston street. they say he was being chased by the shooter. the victim was shot once in the face, once in the neck. he was taken to presbyterian medical center where he died. police are still investigating a cause. and no arrests have been made. another man is in stable condition after he was shot in frankford this happening shortly before 4:00 o'clock at torresdale and bridge streets. police say group of people were

hanging out and then some type of argument happened. the 28-year-old was shot once in the back he was taken to aria torresdale shop. police still searching for that shooter. over in age injuries one person is in the hospital after being hit by a car after 10:00 o'clock last night along the 100 block of mill brook drive in willingboro. we don't know if the car stayed on the scene or the extent of the person's injuries. the cause theft crash is under investigation. now to developing story out of chester. father of two young boys is killed. now police search, for his killer. 28-year-old kareem craig was shot four times in the chest and the stomach along madison street friday night. he leaves behind two young sons ages four and six. witnesses say there were some type of block party going on at the time. craig was just sitting in his car when he was killed. heart broken family members started make shift memorial in his honor. >> so much. it's really crazy out here. >> i couldn't even come around here last night. >> reporter: you got the phone

call that said what? >> that kareem was kill. and he was in the car dead. >> reporter: oh, my god. >> yeah. horrible. >> so many people out on the block, nobody seen or heard anything. >> police are also investigating two other shootings that happened a few miles away from madison street. the victim in a friday night hit and rupp has been identified as 50 year on donna anderson. police in bristol still searching for the car that hit and killed her. she was walking home from her daughter's house when a mini van hit her along route 13 near beaver street. the driver never turning back. >> we just wantages kiss tis. she was a beautiful person. her kids are suffering. we're suffering. we just want to find out what happened. >> police say the vehicle involved possible al dark nissan quest should have severe want end damage. detectives are asking for people in the community to speak up if they know anything.

>> thousands hitting the road on this extended weekend and according to aaa, we'll see it heat yesterday travel since 2005. 450,000 people from the philadelphia area will travel 5l day weekend. that's nearly a 4% increase over last year. 29,000 of them will fly to their destination and unfortunately drivers are paying the highest memorial day grass prices since 2015. and with people heading out for memorial day weekend major cities are beefing up security. popular places like d.c. aren't publicly disclosing their security plans, but if you're heading that way, you can expect to have some areas see a lot of police preps and while officials say this doesn't mean there's a specific threat, they say they'll continue to remain on high alert. > i'm very very confident that we're doing a very effective job

in protecting. with that said it's a constant threat and we always have to be vigilant. according to aaa some 39 million people will travel this memorial day weekend. it's back to normal at new jersey's newark airport after a suspicious package led to evacuations there. port authority police say they found a pressure cooker in terminal a yesterday evening. authorities later determined the package was not a threat. over in england british aways will try to operate most of its scheduled departures from london at some point today. computer system failure paralyzed most of their operationoperations yesterday ae start of the three-day holiday weekend. the global computer failure caused misery for thousands of travelers. both heathrow and gatling airports were filled with stranded and frustrated passengers. now to the latest on the deadly manchester attack. britain has lowered its terror threat level from critical to severe this of course comes days after a terror tack outside an ariana grande concert which

♪ >> 7:15 this morning. we're following some very sad breaking news. three people are dead following a house fire north philadelphia. the fire started shortly before 5:00 o'clock this morning along north sixth west burke streets. police say a nine-year-old boy was taken to hahnemann university hospital where he died. a seven-year-old was found inside the home dead along with a 52-year-old woman. the fire now under control. of course, crews now have switch this to an investigation to find out the cause of the fire. and if these victims died in that house fire. jenny joyce is headed to that scene. she's been speaking to police and investigators this morning. she'll have live update at 7:30. tough start to the holiday weekend. let's get over to scott for look at our pre-memorial day forecast a lot of people doing cookouts and grilling today, scott. >> it looks pretty good i think we'll stay dry fort end tear day. overnight tonight early tomorrow morning expect another round of rainfall perhaps even some thunderstorms. so the jersey shore, the

delaware beaches, let's focus in on that forecast for today. temperatures generally in the mid 60s more on shore flow. we'll call it partly sunny. for tonight temperatures bottom out near 60. mostly cloudy skies. then once again after midnight or so we're watching for that threat of some showers and that could linger into early tomorrow morning. temperatures, though, tomorrow a little milder in the low 70s. ultimate doppler we're dry, we're quite right now waking up to a mixture of sun and clouds. but often to our south, thicker clouds and, yes, that rainfall we're watching some of this energy eventually move back toward the delaware valley overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning. that's the next best chance for rainfall. so as we go hour by hour, here's 3:00 o'clock. we're mostly cloudy to partly sunny. there might be a sprinkle but i think most of us stay dry for today. but you can see after midnight, by 4:00 a.m., we're looking at some rainfall. the poconos, the lehigh valley, the i-95 corridor, down the shore, as we move toward 6:00

a.m. still looking at that threat for rain by 9am most of it moves north and east of the philadelphia area so that will be good news for parades but then we have another threat for some pop-up showers tomorrow afternoon. so 74 degrees today. 81 degrees tomorrow. most of the rain the first part of the day and then temperatures the rest of next week upper 70s to right around 80. lauren. >> thank you so much, scott. new jersey state house the nation's third oldest ripe for attention our steve keeley explains how -- what started as an estimated $300 million renovation might actually be more than double that before the refurbish is complete. >> reporter: new jersey governor chris christie calls this place the new jersey state house where he's had his office for the past seven years and five months an embarrassment to the people of this state. after coming here in person this week and seeing so many of the windows bored up on all four sides, it hit me, technically i'm a new jersey taxpayer. so i kind of own this place and

it makes me feel like a slumlord. the state house building is where the governor's office and the new jersey assembly and senate chambers are. it's the second oldest capitol building in america going back to 1792. even though glass windows have been around since way back then, nearly 20 of them on the new jersey state house are quite embarrassingly all boarded up for four months now. governor says rather than fix them the wip dose were board up in february because he says they were ready to fall out of the building. and they are just part of the reason he says "this is an unsafe building for all of us to be operating in every day i will be the last governor who will operate in a fire trap and that's exactly what i've been doing for the last seven years". but instead of spending the 38 million already approved by state lawmakers for needed safety repairs, the governor has opted instead for a planned four-year long, $300 million renovation. that's supposed to start in a

few days. and because that 300 million wasn't approved by the legislation, but threw a no approval needed bond sale, the final cost with interest on all that borrowed money could make this cost $750 million. since opening 225 years ago the new jersey state house has been renovated five times not since the 1950's. the governor's boxes were all packed up and being put on moving trucks already on tuesday. the governor and his staff moved just down state street to this place. the new jersey department of state whose workers had to be moved out to make room for the governor and his staff. they go even further down state street to this place, and so the governor last year had hoped to move into a new office, you kn know, that oval one in that white house but, hey, at least his new office building is kind of white. in trenton, steve keeley, fox 29 news. >> that's not okay. >> no. definitely not.

♪ 7:30 we have sad news this morning publicist for rock legend greg all man he died yesterday the organist and singer for the all man brothers band passed away at his home in is he van in a georgia. he had been in declining health and had cancel tower dates last year. greg al man dead at 69 yours old. virginia special agent michael t. walter was killed yesterday. he was helping with an operation to get illegal guns off the streets. he was shot while approaching a car cops arrested that person after a massive manhunt. and we have learned walter was a former marine and a father of three. we're following breaking news this morning.

dry. we'll call it partly sunny to movely cloudy. temperatures by 3:00 o'clock right around 70. seventy three degrees at 6:00 o'clock tonight. down the shore, for today, 67 degrees. partly sunny to mostly cloudy. dry for the most part. and then as we move toward tomorrow, it look like 72 degrees will be the high temperature a 50% chance for those scattered showers perhaps a rumble of thunder. but most of the rainfall tomorrow is the first part of the day during the morning. for the pocono mountains 66 degrees for the high temperature today. only a 10% chance for sprinkle. for tomorrow, upper 60s. and that rainfall chance at 50%. lauren, back over to you. >> scott, 7:33. let's go back that breaking news we've been following this morning. we have learned two children one adult are dead. we're listening to press conference happening. let's hear what we fine out. >> -- still missing. ultimately this fire right now we had 30 apparatus, 30 vehicles and units on the scene and almost 100 personnel. so again a very difficult

morning for us and incredible job by our folks. but we really need everybody to hepars remember. fire is everyone's fight. again despite our best efforts and again these folks are the best in the world, sometimes it's just too late and that's -- it's very sad and it's tragic and it really, it hurts for us. it hurts for our and tire community. >> commissioner you said there might be more victims inside, is that what you're searching for. >> according to familiar members there are two folks unaccounted for two occupants so that's why again we're conducting this very dangerous operation behind me despite the fact that the building is very unstable because of the heavy fire conditions in there. we actually have pieces of building that are falling off right now. but we are trying to find these other unaccounted for occupants, and we'll do that as long as it takes. >> you're looking for two peop people. three have died in this fire. >> one confirm fatality in this fire so far. >> just one. >> one so far with two people unaccounted for. >> that's the current situation.

>> a child. >> the child who was rescued by one of our latter companies, again, in very serious condition, critical condition, unfortunately despite the best efforts of our medics and the folks at hahnemann hospital that child expired. the parents who are with the child are telling us there are another couple of occupants unaccounted for. that's what we're conducting this operation inside their now. >> were there working smoke alarms in this house. >> we're a long way from knowing the toons that writ knowledge again, you can still there's still smoke coming out of the this building. we're still engaged in an active overhaul evident to put all the fire out in the building and again our primary concern right now is trying to find these unaccounted for occupants. >> you said the parents of the child told you that there are two other people who lived inside. >> that's correct. that's again why we're conducting this very dangerous operation you see behind me. putting our firefighters in unstable structure to try to confirm the status of those occupants. it's probably going to be while before we're able to do that.

it will require specialized equipment that equipment is on the way here and those personnel are on the way here. >> how many possible were inside the home? >> we don't know that. we don't know that. >> at least two got out the parents of the nine-year-old. >> two parents and the child. the two parents actually were able to jump out the back of the building. we rescued the child. that child expired. we're told by the parents two other folks are missing and that's why in here conducting this operation. >> is there any indication of where the fire began in the home? >> no. heavy, heavy volume of fire when our companies arrived. there was fire coming out of window in this building. so it's going to be quite awhi awhile. our fire marshals are here. all of our great partners are here, red cross, salvation army ppd again we are still engaged in very dangerous operation to attempt to confirm the whereabouts of these unaccounted four occupants. >> how are they getting inside the unstable structure. >> we have ladders when he to send folks up to the third floor

over a ladder because that's the only way we can get inside. but again these folks -- this is what we do. and we're going to do our absolute best to figure out what's still at happened here and again just a tragic day and we just want to encourage everybody regardless of this fire you know we had a very rough weekend last weekend, too. we really need everybody to please help us help you and go to our website phila.gov/fire. >> fire is everyone's fight we have a part to play in this especially when they stress the importance of smoke detectors. but this morning we have learned different information. we do know one confirmed fatality is what we're hearing initially we had heard -- in we're really hurting right now. >> we also heard that this is very dangerous operation that's under way right now that building is unstable. pieces of the structure falling off because of the heavy fire. but firefighters are headed back inside to find two more people that they cannot fine.

hi, jenny. >> reporter: good morning, lauren. we did just get update from fire commissioner adam thiel about a you heard him say that there was one confirmed fatality and fire officials were still searching for two more people that were believed to be inside the home about 15 minutes ago he did give us that update. two more people were found inside the home. so around 4:30 this morning fire crews arrived here to sixth and montgomery streets in north philadelphia to find heavy fire. a nine-year-old boy was rescued and transported to hahnemann hospital. again, the boy's parents reported to police they were able to get out safely but that there were two more people trapped inside the home. and again, three fatalities now confirmed here at this fire scene. fire commercials on scene can't confirm the two ages of the additional fatalities but police toll us reportedly a seven-year-old boy and a 52-year-old woman. here's an update from the chief.

this morning went knew we had one child who perish in this fire despite bergeres can you do by one of our latter companies and the great care from our medics we did have reports two unaccounted for occupants have since found them. we located those two and adult an child on the third floor. there's still heavy damage to the roof on the third floor is actually collapsing. so we have some of our members rescue one going in to -- we'll do the best we can to take care of these folks even though they're deceased. this is just a very tragic morning for us. >> reporter: lauren if you remember it was just last sunday that we had a triple fatal that was in the wynnefield second of the city and commissioner thiel tells us after that triple fatality, the fire department was conniving different neighborhoods throughout the city spreading the word about fire safety of he was in north philly on friday and now two days later another triple fatal.

so very very sad as the fire department continues to investigate again they're backing off from the scene right now because the structure is not stable. so l and i is out here. commissioner thiel says we don't know the cause of they fire. me may never know given the extent of the damage inside the home. >> such a sad story. jennifer joyce, thank you so much. a man is dead following a shooting in wynnefield. police say it happened at 2:00 o'clock near the 1700 block of will ton street. investigators found a trail of blood located the victim collapsed on nearby heston street. they say he was being chad by the shooter. the vick testimony was shot once in the face, once in the neck. he was taken to presbyterian medical center where he died. police are still investigating a cause and no arrests have been made. another man is in stable condition after he was shot in frankford shortly before 4:00 o'clock at the torresdale and bridge streets intersection. police say a group of people were hanging out and someone said an argument broke out. the 28-year-old was shot once in the back. he was taken to aria torresdale

hospital. police are searching for that shooter. in south jersey one person is in the hospital after being hit by a car. it happened shortly after 10:00 o'clock last night along the 100 block of mill brook drive in willingboro. we don't know if the car stayed on scene or the extent of the person's injury much the cause is under investigation. now to a developing story in chester. a father of two young boys is killed now police are searching for that shooter. police say 28-year-old kareem craig was shot four times in the chest and stomach along madison street friday night. he leaves behind two young sons ages four and sick. witnesses say there was some type of block party going on at the time. craig was sitting in his car when he was shot and killed. heart-broken family members started a make shift memorial in his honor. >> so much. it's really crazy out here. >> i couldn't even come around here last night. >> reporter: you got the pope call that said what? >> that kareem was killed. and he was in the car dead. >> reporter: oh, my god.

8:30 this morning we start this half hour with breaking news. sad start to the holiday weekend. three people are dead after a house fire in north philadelph philadelphia. jennifer joyce has been on this story since the very beginning and she has the very latest for us right now. hi, jenny. >> reporter: good morning, lauren. fire crews are still on scene cleaning up from the fire fight but the investigation is just beginning. l and i is also on scene because the home is structurally unstable. fire commissioner adam thiel confirmed that three people lost their lives in this early morning house fire at sixth and montgomery streets. nine-year-old boy was rescued and transported to hahnemann hospital but he succumbed to his injuries. the boy's parents who apparently jumped out of window to safety reported to police and fire crews that there were two more people trapped inside the home. in the last half hour, fire commissioner thiel confirmed that two more bodies were found on the upper floors of this ho home. police told us those people are a seven-year-old boy and a 52-year-old woman.

[ laughter ] >> she was a fighter till the end. >> reporter: although nobody was angry or upset about the somewhat commercialized nature of the weekend, they were united in wanting to us spread the larger message. >> i think the service that these people have provided provides the opportunity for those to have that time, ton go through enjoy that and have the country continue to enjoy the freedoms we have today.
