but a similar situation happened in iowa to a woman who had a 41 million at a machine that malfunctioned in 2011. it went before the iowa supreme court which ruled in favor of the casino. the women do not get a dime. in katrina's case the machine she had investigated by the new york gaming commission, officials said the machine did malfunction and according to regulations that casinos cannot pay her the maximum for the slot machine which is $5500. >> the attorney is not find that the machine made a mistake. he feels they have a strong ca case. >> the law says that if the casino represents, if you put a certain amount of money in the machine or on the table and you win, you get paid. >> there must be some objective standard to which a machine is rated. for supreme court to rule in favor of the casino in iowa, there must be a standard by which they say okay, here's how it's supposed to work and it did not work.
