7:05 am
have go far to sour if right outside front door. look at that orange traffic barrel that made its way there it is like a buoy on the ocean there is ship bottom water tank, i don't know what you are saying mr. producer take it easy. we are seeing traffic here, so you can sea water as far back as we can look down central avenue and people going through, guy in his truck going slow because some people with real nice cars have gone through here and they are paying a price. there is a guy in the corvette getting personally affects oust of there. we have watched flood bed trick take a few vehicles out and probably waiting for his turn to go next. you can see where a sidewalk would be visible here and that is deep under water and probably i don't know if you can make out the curb, that gives you a sense of the water tire well deep for sure. i don't know mix of salt water down here. you can see beach right there we are a couple blocks from

the beach. i don't know if you want this stuff in your under carriage for permanent damage and coincidently as we talk here, here comes a truck pulling a both bet. maybe should be the other way around this both bet fit was any deeper might be floating off of that trailer. earlier we were in ocean city. we were showing a tremendous lightening show. we knew it was above north of atlantic city and these people were getting hit. sue tells us close to 5 inches close to 3:00 a.m. we were watching that lightening show after 3:00 a.m. so they have what greenville delaware has maybe up to seven and a half inches of water. greenville got seven and a half inches in 12 hours. do you see sign to the left as we look at wawa beach haven one of our favorite philadelphia police officers george mcclay was in charge of the northwest detectives forever. anytime is there a big storm he is asking me to check on his house. he touched it out. he was among those governor christie talk about in hurricane irene talked about when he said get the hell off the beach and george smartly
7:07 am
got out of there for next hurricane sandy and didn't stay. but the fat being that george has not called me or texted me tells me he is not worried about his house in the storm. here is the safe spot, i found a surf board that is, the right way and elevated. so should we get more flooding , we will see if i float or is your f thinks high ground for me. i'm safe right here at ron jon surf shop an surf board benches. >> you have never looked better. >> yes. >> see your pose, hold your pose. >> do you know what hang 10 means. >> there it is, i'm hanging 10 now, i got toes in the steel toe boots hanging over there. >> that is exactly what it means. >> you walk up the front of the board and hang your toes over the board. >> we should put him out there jenny, where are you right now, also in new jersey. this is what she drove up on a few hours ago.

7:09 am
came through this morning, when all this happened, it was during the height of the storm with torrential downpours and lots and lots of lightening, mike and alex. >> lots of lightening. >> okay. how about this. do you know the name kelly hodge. >> you will soon. >> she will be sworn in as interim d.a. in philadelphia today. she's taking over for seth williams who resigned after he pled guilty to federal bribery charges, he is in jail now waiting a sentence. kelly hodge is a former city prosecutor. she will the sissies first african-american woman to serve as d.a.. charges will be filed in connection with the discovery of the tractor trailer filled will legal immigrant in texas. >> at one point apparently there was 100 people in the back of this very hot truck, temperatures got up to 120, 130 degrees. nine of those people inside they had died. now karen, this is in san
7:10 am
antonio wal-mart. >> yes, exactly in the parking lot. they had this truck. it was found. we could have more people that lose their lives. that temperature inside there and people internal organs were being over heated and that is why we had those deaths. we know something about the accused driver a man in his 60 's from clearwater, florida. is there the scene of the wal-mart. ambulances taking people away. there was a call on sunday because a man asked for some water at wal-mart and that is when they found at lee three dozen people who were still in the back of the sweltering trailer with no air conditioning, temperatures about 120, noe water. some say they crossed at lare do on foot and hundred people packed in the back of the truck. some of the store surveillance video shows vehicles taking some people away, a vigil for the dead, turned into a rail for change. >> in one has to die in their search for a better life. >> in one person is responsible for that failure but it represents a systemic

failure and today we saw part of the cost of that failure. >> we are expecting some charges today, the driver of the truck they say, prosecutors say is james matthew bradley junior of clearwater who will be charged later today. u.s. immigration and customs enforcement acting director says he is in custody right now. they are hoping to save the people that are already in the hospital, right now but we did have a tragic loss of life, and they had so many people talking about it right now because it was just such a tragedy that happened. we know some of those immigrants were from mexico, others were from guatemala. >> outside temperature in san antonio were around 100 degrees to begin with. >> exactly. >> and who are these people coming up in cars and trucks to pick up people outside of the tractor trailer. >> yeah, what they were doing. >> um-hmm. >> thank you. president trump's son in law, jared kushner says he

only had four contacts, i don't know why we're only using word only, he had four contacts with russians during the campaign and presidential campaign, and that none of those contacts were improper, and he said he never colluded with any foreign government during the presidential campaign, and the president's son in law disclosing the information in an 11 page statement to the associated press, this news comes a couple hours before he is interviewed before senate and house committees investigating russia's meddling in the 2016 election. doug luzader joining us this morning, with more on this as new information we have. >> yeah, doug. >> reporter: good morning. big statement put out by jared kushner about 11 pages explaining he did not have, as you mentioned any improper contacts with individual from his russia. he did have some contact. certainly members of the house and senate intelligence committees will grill him about this over the next few

days what does the president's son in law necessity about russia? democrats anxious to face off with jared kushner now one of the president's top advisors who played such a key role in last years campaign. they are looking for any information about meetings involving kushner, donald trump junior and one time campaign manager paul manafort >> we want to know whether those meetings took place, other meetings took place, we have a lot of ground to cover, his counsel has said they will make him available for two hours. we expect this will be just first interview. >> reporter: president's new communications director anthony scaramucci says this will help settle the matter. >> i'm confident that tomorrow when jared kushner speaks and i will keep my fingers crossed , probably last time he has to talk about russia. >> reporter: other issue for scaramucci, task with improving white house messag ing is trying to reign in leaks a issued that bedeviled the trump administration from day one and he is promising to crackdown. >> if you keep leaking i will

county, new jersey. it happened in the middle of the severe thunderstorm over the delaware bay. he was on a dock when he shot this video. >> um-hmm, nicely done. here's sue at 7:15. >> we have severe weather over weekend and more possible today but it looks like nobody has an early t time up here in the pocono mountains. we will talk about where the rain is right now, wait, there is some in the pocono mountains. first we will look at berks county here and then heavy downpours around kutztown this morning and then further north , around jim thorpe we are seeing heavy rain continuing, mount pocono there as well, they have been getting rain all morning long. we're watching one area moving toward chesapeake bay very light rain but things are un settled enough that we could see more pop up thunderstorms before the day is through especially if we get sunshine today but flash flood warning from last night's rain and rain that fell yesterday in chester, delaware and part of the new castle county, this area right here, you got to
7:16 am
watch where you are driving because you could encounter flooded roadways. we are under a marginal risk of more severe thunderstorms before the day is through. we're not quite finished just yet because with the mixture of sun and crowd throughout the afternoon we will see some isolated pop up thunderstorms on our future cast and throughout the afternoon, and, through the evening time, like 8:00 o'clock we could see more rocking and rolling but more isolated then what happened last night even some left over showers in, to the early part of the tuesday before we will get lower humidity around here at least heat wave ended that happened yesterday when we got to 89. still warm and humid. today same deal with pop up showers and thunderstorms. eighty-four, some showers lingering showers lingering tomorrow. wednesday looking good with lower humidity, sunshine and high of 82. more thunderstorms for thursday from friday and a nice weekend head and guess what it is last weekend of july, bob kelly. >> wow, that is crazy. kid go back to school last

steve's report together
7:30 am
flooding situation in long beach island with a major update, steve. >> reporter: we have showed barrels floating in street like buoys and ship bottom police got here to the intersection. by the way that officer in the hum vee is wearing hip waiters and public works guys like they are going bass fishing. this must be part of the uniforms for police and maintenance because that is how deep water is. he is walking through it, knee deep as they get orange barrels from float ago way. we will have more wild scenes from here when we see you in a few minutes. >> okay, thanks for that update, steve. look at that. so, we will get an update on how this weather, happened overnight is affecting the roadways, and especially in new jersey. first lets say good morning to you. it is monday july 24th. lets get a check of the weather with sue. >> ship bottom where steve is had over four and a half inches of rain just since yesterday, most of that fell during the overnight, just too much rain to handle all of
7:31 am
that, at a very short period of time. here's where it is raining right now berks county, lehigh , northampton counties as well as the upper part of the bucks county there as well and we are seeing orange there which indicates heavier downpours. here we go again for some places anyway. it is six out of 10 because we won't escape without another round of showers or maybe even a pop up thunderstorm so buddy says have umbrella nearby. temperatures in the very humid 70's this morning, we have dog with us. we have phillies winning last night and in fact later on in the show cameron rupp will be here, catcher, he will talk about a big event he will have on thursday to benefit the p spca. flash flood warning continues until 9:00 for a few areas that got hard hit by downpours last night. 88 degrees today. scattered storms throughout the afternoon and evening, again, and still humid. we will tell you when things improving coming up in the
7:32 am
seven day forecast, bob kelly. >> good morning. 7:32 we will call it. delays all around the board, again rain has stopped but we are dealing with the left overs. here's speedometer readings slow get on the blue route, schuylkill expressway in and out of south philadelphia. ninety-five has been a hot mess because of that earlier accident. coming back from the shore and an accident on the garden state parkway it is northbound right here, just north of the ocean city somers point interchange and that is causing delays. heading to the airport over one hour delays at laguardia storms that hit us this morning hitting new york. that will have a domino effect back here in philadelphia so check with the airline before you head out down there if you are coming back from the shore back road little extra heavy on 47, and 347, flooding in new castle creek road flooded out right at ford road and, of course some scattered delays on the trains and buses, because of the weather, mike and alex, back over to you. 7:32. >> lets get to this shocking
7:33 am
incident that happened a lot of people are wondering why didn't they say something. >> yeah, a group of teenagers recorded a disabled man drowning. this happened in florida. where else? we will only show you a portion of this because it is so sickening, it is cell phone video. watch this. >> get out the water you are going to die. >> we are not going to help you. you shouldn't have gotten in. >> ain't nobody to help you they didn't help him. >> it was five teens recorded and as you heard made fun of 31 year-old jamal dunn, who drowned in a pond on july 7th, and they were only going to be charged with failing to report his death. it turns out there is no law that requires people to report to officials that someone is dying. >> attorney jennifer brandt is here, geese, i want to know
7:34 am
what our laws are, and the tri-state area here but so what are they being charged with. >> they are being charged with failure to report a death, because they knew after seeing what happened they knew that this man had drowned and they didn't report it right away. >> he went missing for five days. >> they saw news reports people looking for this man and they said nothing. >> right, and then cell phone video surfaced to show that they knew what was happening. but what is interesting is that in only certain states about 10 states is there a duty to actually help somebody that is drowning. >> is that the good samaritan law is that what it is called. >> good samaritan law is different, good samaritan laws says if you actually help someone, who is in a dire situation such as this and you do something or you are not going to be held liable. so it is encouraging people to go ahead and help if you see a
7:35 am
situation like this. but there is in obligation that you have to do that. that is what we find shocking especially when you see a situation like this five teens recording this, someone could have called for help or done something to try to save this man probably could have been saved. >> what kind of law do we have in pennsylvania, let's start with pennsylvania. >> our local states here there is no law to actually go ahead and save someone. >> you would in the to have do that. >> you would not have a obligation. >> more of a moral obligation most of people who saw this, there was a case not too long ago about the person in the rip tide and those people made a human chain to save them. people go to extreme length to save others. unfortunately that didn't happen here. >> same for new jersey and delaware. >> yes. >> same thing. >> what if somebody is drowning in front of them, people go through this all the time, they don't necessity how to swim so they dent jump in
7:36 am
because, they will both drawn. >> right, right. >> but at lee call 911. >> yes, i think most people would do that, you know, so you really, there shouldn't have to be laws about that, you know, you would think that the right thing to do would be to go out and try to help somebody. >> the fact that there were five people who sat there and watched. >> and for five days didn't tell anybody he drowned in that pond. lets get to usher, he is being sued by two different woman. one woman wants 10 million, other woman wants 1.1 million-dollar. what did he do. >> well, parentally they are alleging he gave them herpes, and here, i mean this comes up all the time in my caseness divorce cases where a husband will accuse a wife and wife accuse a husband there is difficult proof problems. >> he is married. >> well, that is besides the point. the issue is, proving it. did he, give would the man
7:37 am
herpes. all of this sexual pennsylvania of these people whoever is suing him will come into play who were their partners did they have disease before, all of their medical record. it is a lot of information that will to have come out to show it was in this instance that he gave them herpes and that he didn't notify him that he had disease. >> when i comes to the notification process lets say this happens how do you prove it because women could just deny he never told him that and what if he did. what is way you can hold up in court and say i told you what it was in the beginning. >> it is a question of credibility. like any other he said/she said. i ran into this all the time. if you testify who his more believable here. if he comes forward and said i knew i had this diocese and i told her this and she took risk. >> hold on, so there may be, everybody ends up in court she would have to reveal her sexual partners. >> absolutely. >> and their health history.
7:38 am
>> because obviously his lawyer is going to want to know who else did she sleep with and aloft people have herpes. one in three is the statistics >> yeah. >> oral herpes, genital herpes , so, this is something that is very, very difficult to prove. so you would have to show that she's clean and that she slept with him and he gave her the disease. >> if you have herpes do you have it the rest of your life. >> i believe so. >> and then out breaks. >> is there out breaks. >> apparently it is in the, you cannot transmit it all the time, if you are having an out break. >> you have to disclose tour partner. >> he should. >> well, you should. >> well, you should or else you can be held liable. it is a personal injury type kate whether you are let something one know you have a s td or not. >> if you are a celebrity you should have like actual forms or something, i'm just saying.
7:39 am
>> maybe you shouldn't sleep around how about that. >> yes. >> but i'm not passing judgment. >> i have a medical team on staff in my apartment. >> yes. >> and then there comes the question whether the person used protection and whether the women should use protection. is there all kinds of issue surrounding this it will be very interesting to go see what happens here. >> certainly will. >> always good to have our herpes expert in jennifer brandt. >> how about legal expert we will leave it at that. >> legal expert. >> thanks, jennifer. quick break. #p

reasons. he picks up loyal people and gives them a ride and doesn't let him play in the flood water. ron, you get our nice human player for taking her to her deli. >> thank you very much. >> bernard, explain to people, you have learned a loyal german car buyer being from germany 48 years ago. you learned your lesson losing two mercedes necessary previous waters. what was your thinking. >> i was not going to go through the water again. >> your car is high, dry at ron jon surf shop. ron, you will be late. thank you for. that awesome guy. don't let your dog play in the stuff because they will drink the stuff. you can see how dirty water is look at these people, it is amazing they are in the letting water get in the way of their morning commute. they have closed off central avenue because it is so bad and people going down there too big traffic mess here. we have a road shut down, people driving around in circles in this water. in secret that they are flooded out here, guys? >> wow.
7:44 am
>> beautiful dog too. football is back, eagles report to training cam in about one hour as a matter of fact, season training camp will begin. team armed with new weapons for carson wentz, will it be enough? we will talk more. >> we have been asking you what is your prediction for this season. we have interesting responses, tweet me on twitter, and we can put this out here. how far will we get? you mean are you talking record. >> talking record. >> record.
