flick. straight up 7:00 o'clock, good day, tuesday august 22nd, 2017. >> so we are starting with our top story, this breaking news that happened overnight at 69th street station in upper darby. high speed line train slams into another train parked on the track, more than 40 people are hurt, and authorities are trying to figure out exactly how this happened. >> lauren johnson at the scene , jenny joyce at penn presbyterian hospital on an update for injured and bob kelly here in the studio, bob. >> this happened just after midnight just outside philadelphia at 69th street upper darby terminal here. that is the main hub for norristown high speed line, market frankford line and, about two dozen bus routes right there in upper darby. trains are running every 20 minutes between norristown and 69th street terminal, in express services, so all trains are sps. it is far from a normal morning rush hour along

>> reporter: equipment error or operator error that is what we will figure out. septa's working to figure out that. septa employees are over on the tracks where that train is still remains trying to conduct their investigation, ntsb is also involved. we have spoke to the mayor not too long ago about the crash he was on the scene last night and commends emergency responders who raced to this scene to rescue passengers. it was describe as a mass casualty incident with 42 people injured after an incoming train to 69th street, slammed into another train around 12:15 this morning. one man was thinking something was just not right. >> i was waiting at gulph mills. train came by blew pennsylvania us three or four train lengths, stopped, backed up, picked us up, and same thing happened at bryn mawr. drove past. backed up, picked us up. i was talking to a guy at gulph mills and he said that is not right it never passes like. that i said something is wrong i almost waited until the next train but we got to the

lets go to the maps again updating that accident that happened shortly after midnight. trains every 20 minutes, no express service. all trains making all stops this morning. here's an area view of the transportation center, so our news van right here at that curve, that is the same loop where the accident on the market frankford line happened a couple months ago. you can see they typically have three track that is come into the norristown high speed line section of the 69th street terminal. one, of those three tracks are closed with the investigation, and therefore, only the other two are opened, again, expect delays this morning heading down and not even using the norristown high speed line, there will be a lot of activity at the station. here's an accident east on 422 , it looks like taking out all but only that right lane at that curve in the construction zone as you come in toward king of prussia. an accident north on 295 and south jersey about a 35 minute
