hurricane maria and how it might impact our weather next week. lauren. >> all right, we'll wait for that. scott, thank you very much. 7:03. limerick township police looking for the man they say is armed and very dangerous after he shot his ex-girlfriend's mother. police have identified the suspect as 30-year-old greg feldman. they say he went to the victim's home on long meadow drive around noon, shot her twice when she answered the door. according to police documents the victim is 48-year-old amy herman. she says feldman asked for her daughter row beck had was also home when herman told him he shouldn't be there he allegedly said i have something for becca and shot the victim. police say the victim's daughter told them feldman event whatly told her "i wanted to you feel my pain". neighbors were stunned to hear what happened and hope the victim is okay. >> she's a breast cancer survivor, and i pray to god that she pulls through. you know, that's how me and the other neighbors feel. that we just are praying. >> police say feldman was

driving a 2016 black mazza sedan license plate kfc-4605. a warrant has been issued for his arrest. the victim remains in the hospital. now to center city where a man was shot by his three-year-old nephew. police say a philadelphia hous housing authority officer left his loaded weapon inside a car. that's when a three-year-old who was in that car climbed out of his seat, reached for the gun and fired it at the officer's brother. that housing authority officer now suspended. >> at some point, the three-year-old child got loose from his car seat, got a hold of that weapon and fired it. >> the 24-year-old victim who was shot through the back of his right shoulder was taken to the hospital and an investigation will determine if the officer will return to work. now to some breaking news overnight. four separate minutes in north philadelphia lands several people in the hospital. one man in his four social security in critical condition this morning after police say he was shot five times. the shooting happened on the 3,000 block of north eighth

street around 11:00 o'clock last 90 on the corner of north 27t 27th. police respond to shooting there. this time we are told a 23-year-old man was shot in his lower abdomen. he was taken to temple hospital. no word on his condition. we're learning that one person was critically injured after a hit-and-run accident. police responded to the scene at tioga and ninth streets around 2:30am. victim was taken to temple hospital and another hit-and-run at the intersection of broad and glenwood. police say a man was taken to temple hospital with unknown injuries from that accident. no arrests were may. no car recovered in that incident. now to our top stories. john mccain deals another potential fatal blow to gop leaders the arizona senator says he will vote against attempts to repeal and replace obamacare. this mark the second time in two months mccain has said no. he says he cannot in good conscious vote for the graham cassidy proposal. here's why. he thinks republicans and democrats could work together and come up with something

first time ever fallen below that of the registration numbers for independent and third party members. let that sink in for just a minute. fewer republicans in the city than the combined numbers of independents, libertarians, green party, socialists. we've known for years that democrats wildly out number the gop in philly. first by a three to one margin, then five to one now it's nearly seven to one. why should you care? if you're republican the answer should be obvious. your views on local matters simply don't count. your candidate won't win. can't win unless, of course, he or she is guaranteed victory by charter like those two set aside seats on city council. and if you're a democrat, well, your candidate is almost certainly not as hard working as transparent or as considerate of your views as they would be if they actually had chance of lo losing election day. the result, we elect our democratic mayors to eight year terms at which time they hand

the keys to the next democrat who was of course chosen, elected in a primary system in which a relative handful of party activists are pulling all the strings. i won't bore you with the ever growing list of local democratic elected officials now living in prison or under an ethical cloud. that's the obvious result of one party rule. the bigger and probably worse result is a sense of voter hopelessness and apathy that keeps everything just the same. and don't hold your breath waiting for the local gop to get its act together. its leaders are too busy squabble link over who gets to stand at the bow of this singing ship it's worth noting that the founding fathers when creating the constitution right here in philadelphia did not make any attempt to create a two-party political system such factions they believed would lead to ruin. well, 230 years later, mission accomplish. we do not have two-party system here. how is that working out for you

five. a warn has been issued for his arrest. >> bucks county facing a major lawsuit it could mean a big payout for former prison inmat inmates. some of those inmates were never convicted but years later you can still find their mug shots online. brad sattin has the details. >> reporter: if you need information on an inmate in bucks county the department of corrections has inmate look up tool on its website that we found wasn't even working. which attorney alan dennenberg says would have been a good thing back in 2011 when it started revealing confidential information on all county inmates, past or present, convicted or not. >> many of these people had their records ex punched. so that when you went to access it at the police department or online, you wouldn't be able to find that information including mr. taha's information. >> reporter: mr. taha spent less than 24 hours in jail back in 1998 on harassment and disorderly conduct charges which were later ex punched. he'd never been in trouble before or after. but even today his booking photo

those rip currents and then 87 the high temperature in the lehigh valley. lauren, back over to you. >> scott, thank you so much. the search for survivors continues in mexico after massive 7.1 magnitude earthquake on tuesday. rescue crews pulled more people out of the rubble yesterday. officials say at least 60 people have been rescued from collapsed buildings so far. more than 50 buildings fell during the quake killing at least 273 people. authorities are saying that more than 2,000 others are hurt. back on january 26th, 2001. a 7.7 magnitude earthquake devastated parts of india and pakistan and changed the life of a then 25-year-old new jersey college student forever. he was vacationing with his family when that quake destroyed the high rise building where he and his family were staying. his father, mother, brother, sister-in-law and two-year-old nephew were killed during that event. leaving him alive yet trapped in concrete bock.

viral he was finally rescued five days later he found himself facing not only live forever altered by tragedy and loss but surprisingly new sense of& meaning for the future. he joins us live this morning. we thank him so much for being here via skype. how are you? >> hello. how are youing. >> great. so it's almost been 17 years since this incident happened with you and your family. very devastating. you're now sharing your journey in a new book. tell us why now? >> yes. so what happened is my live totally changed and after going through that incident there were lot of learning that came through after quite a few years, and it took a long time for me to put it altogether and put my learning in one place because i couldn't contain all the learning that happened during the time, and i was trying to stand back up. trying to stand back up was very difficult, and as it happened, it happened over the years, and

this was time when i knew that i -- i knew what it takes for someone to stand back up on your feet after something devastating happens. >> absolutely. >> viral, take us back to that day. you're trapped and you're stuck under concrete for five days. when did you learn you lost five family members? >> i came out about five days later outside the rubble once i came out. i was asking the rescuers about where my family was expecting that my family would be outside waiting for me. but that was a grim discovery that no one had been found. so during the next four days we were finding one person after the other, and none of them survived, and that is when i actually found out that i was the only one left out in the familiarly. >> how tragic and devastating for you. we are absolutely sorry about your loss. tell me, how were you able to

hold on to hope even in the midst of this dire situation? >> well, i kept my focus about where i wanted to go, and all of that focus and that energy came from my family, and i wanted to keep that focus on and i never wanted to give up, and that is what i had learned in life, and also to through my experience when i was inside the rubble for five days. that never to give up, and once i was outside, i had to not give up even after i had nobody around. the pell lars that supported my life were all gone but i had to -- i had to continue moving forward, and i focused on my dreams. i looked at past but i did not focus on the past. i focused on my dreams and moved forward.

so choosing light, choosing light is the book that came out this january, and the book is about my survival experience but more than just my survival experience underneath the rubble. it is more about how i pick myself back up without anyone around me. without any support that i had before, and what it takes for someone to go through something really difficult in life and still move forward and accomplish your own dreams, and it takes a lot, and that is what my book is about. there's a lot of darkness around everyone in some form, and what one needs to do in order to be able to always choose light and find that -- find that way of standing up and learn how to do

car. a three year old climbed out of his seat reached for the gun and fired it at the officer's brother. that housing authority officer is now suspended. >> at some point the three year old child got loose from his car seat, got hold of that weapon and fired it. >> the 24-year-old victim who was shot through the back of his right shoulder was taken to the hospital. the housing authority says it's its investigation will determine if the officer will return to the force. >> south core's weather agency says magnitude 3.0 earthquake was detected in north korea. this happened near where a recent nuclear test was conducted. official from sewell says the quake was detected in the northeastern part of north korea. pretty clear that quake was not caused by an artificial explosion much this of course comes just days after kim jong-un threatened to test a hydrogen bomb. now back here to our local breaking news from overnight. four separate incidents in north philadelphia lands several people in the hospital.

one man in his 40s in critical condition this morning after police say he was shot five times. the shooting happened on the throw thousand block of north eighth street around 11:00 o'clock last night. this then on the corner of north 27th and west sergeant streets police respond to shooting the there. this time we are told a 23-year-old man was shot in his lower abdomen. he was taken to the temple hospital. no word on his condition. we're learning one person was critically injured after a hit-and-run accident in north philly. police responded to the scene at tioga and ninth streets around 2:30 this morning. the victim was taken to temple hospital and another hit and rupp at the intersection of broad and glenwood. police say man was taken to temple hospital with unknown injuries. no arrests were made in that case and no car was recovered in the incident. ♪ let's get to our top stories. john mccain deals yet another potential fatal blow to gop leaders. the arizona senator says he will vote against attempts to repeal and replace obamacare. this mark the second time in just two months mccain has said no.

jennifer joyce live outside the limerick police department with much more. hi, jenny. >> reporter: good morning, lauren. victim remains in the hospital and the suspect remains on the loose this morning. limerick police are looking for this man. 30-year-old greg feldman. investigators say he is the person who shot his ex girl friend's mom in the doorway of her limerick home yesterday around noon as revenge for the break up much police tell us feldman approach the home on long meadow drive, 48-year-old amy herman answered the door. feldman asked to see her daughter. he said he had something for her. when the mother told him he shouldn't be there he hope fire and shot herman twice. police and local education officials placed schools on lock down and police escorted children homes the search for the gunman continued. neighbors in the area say they are shocked that this happened and they are praying that the victim survives. >> i know she's a breast cancer survivor.
