accidental or stray gunfire and now this week, this is the second morning that we've led good day with stories of children shot by stray gunfire, and the latest case just before 8:00 last night, the 6-year-old boy just 20 feet outside his living room talking to his dad and 15-year-old brother when a stray gunfire hits him in the left shoulder and he runs inside the house, bleeding badly. >> standing out front ofs his house minding his own picks talking to his father and brother when the shots rang out. and he was obviously struck by stray gunfire. nobody intentionally shoots a 6-year-old. >> i saw, i --. >> reporter: you see the school sign here where the shooting happen right outside the playground ballfields and basketball courts of the william dick public school and good thing this was at 10 of 8:00 instead of 10 of 3:00 when all

ballfields, and somebody didn't care, they started shooting for some reason. and this little 6-year-old will grow up with a bill bullet wound scar on his left shoulder, a life long reminder of the night he nearly lost his life. lost a lot of blood but police put him right in a patrol car, rushed him to temple's fantastic phe was quickly stabilized befoe being moved on to st. christopher's hospital where they specialize getting little guys healed and happy again. >> this 6-year-old shooting victim was standing on the corner of 24th and norris, talking to this father and his 15-year-old brother. right in front of his corner property. they heard multiple shots ringing out. coming from north of norris street on 24th. that's when the 6-year-old realized he was shot, and then he ran into his home, which was just about 20 feet away.
