your local weather. first, there's an election coming up in a little over a month. jersey voters will decide who will be the successor to chris christie. i'm joined by one of the candidates, republican, kim ladonna who's also the lieutenant governor. so the battle lines have been drawn. one of the driving issues is the cost of pensions in the state specifically public worker pensions. one thing that might separate you but were not sure is whether or not cops and firefighters should have control of their pensions. this cap their ability when there negotiating a union contract. they can quote with a 2%. bill murphy hasn't taken a position. >> right, he's can whittle the study comes out. funny it's not coming out until after the november election. he says that he's going to fully from the pension and healthcare, plus about $75 billion with the promises he can't keep. you don't know where he stands

3:17 am
>> technically does help the mayor manage but they're all calling for that stay the same, it technically does help you in the budget. but they are the comments you want to balance the budget on police and fire but it keeps that cost in check. so it's a good thing, a lot of people who are prolabor have a challenge with that particularly if you're in a political dynamic. >> to skim have a shot given the fact that she's talking about something both unions want, that's their pension to be separate from the rest of the state workers. they've done it successfully in arizona and wisconsin. >> i think it's a start move.
