one substitute teacher had to say to a room full of kids were talking to each other in spanish. he created a controversy. not only did students decide to protest, but many are being suspended for acting out pushing back. some are defending the teacher, will break it down. let's get details. >> this viral video has students outraged and hoping the substitute teacher gets fired. some say it's a racist comment. >> the substitute tells girl to stop speaking spanish. this happened last week. on monday they staged a walkout. it's not the first time she's made a comment like this. >> i was not surprised because it's not the first time she said it. she says that a lot like when i was a student freshman year two.

i just had her as a substitute she said it again. >> some students believe the incident was racist. >> when i heard the video i thought what she said was on call for and disrespectful. if it was in regards to safety there's a better way to say. but she didn't make it seem that way. her underlying impression was that she was taken a racist approach. >> i reached out to the teachers union to hear their thoughts and am awaiting for response back. we have yet to hear from the board of education on how they will handle this matter was students and affection will be taken against his teacher. a statement will be coming over the next couple of days. >> thanks ashley. the spring back panel. speak english in the classroom, common sense? >> yes, i think the teacher

didn't handle it well but make no mistake, these kids are being disrespectful by speaking another language so she couldn't understand. things got frustrated i don't think they had a right to leave the school and protests. >> i did this on the radio this morning. so many people calling that english as a second language thing were happy she pushed back. they are to be speaking english in class. >> there are rules that need to be enforced in a school setting. if the rule is in a spanish class you keep spanish and in english you can speak proper english. you should encourage people to follow the rules. i question the intelligence of the teacher here. to make a comment like that i don't know it speak american means. >> i think she lost patience. >> that's a problem with the teacher. i'd be interested to see what the teachers union will do.
