it's time for mayor diblasio to do something. we're joined with jake, political director for the orthodox union. jake, welcome to chasing news. >> thank you for having me. tell me about the rallies. they are all upset and taken to the streets. what are you doing what you hope to accomplish? >> back in september mayor diblasio route had announcement that he was going to have a free and nutritious lunch to every student in new york city, whether they're in public school or charter school. he made this announcement and then he said i'm suv kosher or hello, and then you are out of luck. >> is that based on cost?

they might say well you complaining about? your free lunches, you can accommodate everybody. who should take up the at a cost? >> it is not based on cost. i'll tell you a secret the mayor doesn't want you to know. he is taking advantage of a federal program which allows the entire city, every student to access this program. the same every student is eligible to have a free lunch unless you you kosher. >> the government doesn't like muslims or jews or is there some reason for making it standard across the board? i remember public school lunches were pretty awful. >> i don't think this .-ellipsis everybody's but the jews and muslims, they just do not think it through well enough in typical diblasio fashion.

they said will roll it out and take credit before the election. >> that i understand. i have to move on. thank you for talking to me. >> take care. >> let's bring in the panel. i'm joined by an immigration attorney, a political strategist, a former prosecutor and now defense attorney. it seems to me that every group there is an exception may no matter what is in a group to commence a wise and their vegan option or a peanut-free option. there could be any number of exceptions. i don't a problem with the general's school lunch. >> in this scenario some is 40% of the students. it is a significant amount of the student population is not able to protein during their meal. >> who should pay for? >> there's an easy solution. there's kosher and caterers who could do this cost-effectively.

>> why should they? we have all kinds of things about the church and state, now are going to make an accommodation because one group is making it political against diblasio. >> it is a legal issue. it's discriminated against these groups. there is a government taxpayer funded thing for lunch for all kids. they don't have the ability not to go to school. therefore they should be accommodate. we understand it is a religious freedom issue. you can't give something to some and not all. you have to accommodate the racial discrepancy. it's not really difficult to do. >> it's probably pretty easy. there's food service providers. >> have to leave it there. travel over the thanksgiving holiday is expected to be rough.

if you new york city is getting worse every year. take a look at what happened at jfk airport. two planes clipped wings. the people at laguardia get another cab and went to the terminal because it was so congested the caps can get to the gate. see the fair that ran aground? almost 90 passengers had to be rescued. there's a new report that talks about the buses in new york ci city. there literally fall apart. what's worse is not going anywhere when they are in service. the average bus is averaging under a miles per hour. it's a mess and a lot of finger-pointing going on. let's break it down. bob, what a mess. >> i am pain bite every week going into the city. you try the bus that's a

disaster. the train is a disaster. so, i have to drive in. in the last year i don't know what's going on but two or three triple parked trucks. it's like threading a needle. you can get through the city faster on a tricycle. >> in the last eight years they've lost a hundred million passenger trips. more people are driving because i can't rely mass transit. trains are [inaudible] time and the buses are disaster. the fairies the best option but it's not viable for everyone. no one wants to accept responsibility. everyone wants to point the finger of blame. it's from not investing and mass transit system. >> it's almost unfair. i will pull the fairy out of it. think those unfortunate timing. they're trying to explore new routes. a few balls need repairs.

it is disheartening when on attributed quotes and out of context are used to paint a false narrative. >> was a difference between targeting and investigating and what would the council have by driving going by. >> have no investigative authority. there's a difference between constituent services and following up on complaints. my feeling is when i got complaints from residents and they didn't feel like we are following up on issues i wanted to make sure they got an answer. when are people who something was clear that the end of the discussion. highlighted by this property.

>> some of these allegations are coming from people who are worried that jackson will become the next lakewood. we've seen it play out over new jersey. is that what's happening? >> i think our town is very welcoming. what the other towns too, can't control. we are very much welcome an open community. >> are you anti- somatic? >> that's most ridiculous thing i've heard. absolutely not. that kind of angry and hateful stuff has to stop. >> so you'll fight through the allegations and not stopping? >> i love serving our town in residence. let's communicate, let's lower the volume and create policy that make it a time people want to move to and stay in.
