panel here. i will start with you. you have been involved in opioid cases as am attorney. it seems to me that the lawsuit goes nowhere. it is a lot of political posturing. what do you my well, look, as far as i am concerned. i handled these cases. it doesn't go nowhere. it will be litigated but what lawyers look to is big tobacco. tobacco users, it is fixed with correct use of the product where as opioids, if you use it correctly, there is no issue. this it he is the misuse of the product, so that is why the lawsuits are not going to be successful at the end of the day. >> there is a bigger picture here. it seems like our culture today every time something goes wrong, we look to blame one? we go back to health care. what are doctors doing. what is happening in terms of the pain management? where are we watt the relationship with the patients? are they sitting down to take the time to access and andly pain or sem ply providing

bill: violence in new rochelle. in eight days, three high school students stabbed. parents, the mayor, administrators, everywhere wince looking for a solution. there was a meeting the other night with parents and the school administrator and the mayor talking about everything from metal detectors to more cops to an app to anonymously report bullying. i am joined now buy a student at ionia college who has petition started and has more than 500 signatures already to not only ask the school administration fors to step down but to take immediate action. brendan, let me ask you. why did you get involved? >> well, at first, which is very upset about the first incident which lead to the death. then, from there, the continual incidents really unspired me to ac. bill: all right. at the meeting, 1,000 plus

parents showed up. how safe do you think people feel now? >> i would say, for the most part, some of the kiddings probably do. some probably don't. it depends on which side of this you are on. you know? you can say you feel comfortable. you feel not, in my opinion, three incidents in eight days, i wouldn't feel comfortable. no i a lot of people don't know. a lot of preans are on it. bill: what this is goal? and do you really want these school administrators to all step tune? my goal with this eventually is to create awareness and to allow the parents and community members to really hold the leaders accountable. for some of the implementation of rules they don't follow completely or lack there of. ok. thank you, appreciate your time tonight. let's bring back the a plus panel. let me start with you. this seems to me, you know metal detectors we hear about this. the app. i don't see how that could possibly help.

>> yeah. it is interesting concept. especially when you are talking about anonymous reports so what does that mean for the schools and their obligations to investigate these situations and to take corrective action. it seems to leave that loop unclosed and could be potentially problematic on the like side. bill: with very lost our way in the culture i can go back to high school. think parents and teachers are far more involved agriefsly and feels lock the tail is wagging the dog and the kids can claim all kinds of rights i don't know how they have and the school almost seems powerless. well, think we really need to look at issue of not just how to prevent this but to look at it from the home. you need to look at it to see what are the parents dog stop bullying in any type of violence? what are you tanging to school m what is happening in it starts with parents before it starts with school. bill: what about the tapers, though? what about empowering teachers. teachers give the kids little

>> live from center city in philadelphia this is fox 29 news at 11:00. it is the 11:00 o'clock hour. we begin with breaking news. a shooting in the heart of center city. i'm thomas drayton. let's get right to it. it happened just before 9:00 o'clock tonight around 16th and chestnut. our brad sattin on the scene. what's going on here, brad. >> reporter: thomas, we can tell you only about 35 minutes ago they actually opened up the street here on walnut. we are at 16th and walnut here behind me is an apple store. this is actually where things ended up tonight after 24-year-old man from south philadelphia had been shot in the wrist. he want to this location here where he flagged a police officer and then was rushed to the hospital. as you see here just a couple officers remaining. take you to the earlier scene the incident started three blocks away
