killings, this was done by technology that's been around awhile. an x-ray machine was what was used to keep a powerful weapon out of the samuel fels high school. police say it was this weapon a jean-year-old high school freshman carried in to the samuel fels school this morning prompting a lock down and fear. >> i'm just glad nobody got hu hurt. and that everybody is safe. because if they wouldn't have caught him it could have ended up a as different situation. >> women into the bag and it was in fact a 40 caliber smith and wesson loaderred with 12 rounds so it was loaded to capacity. >> the 15-year-old was arrested and later questioned by detectives. his mother by his side. police say the boy admitted to stealing the gun from a

neighbor's car in the 5900 block of hammond avenue. >> that's the only reason you would carry a gun today to take another life. >> reporter: to bring the gun into the school to kill you? >> he wanted to hurt somebody. >> reporter: while students say the teen had been jumped recent recently police report they don't know why he brought that weapon to school. >> it doesn't appear that he has any rivalries or any beefs with any other students that would have caused him to bring the up there. >> reporter: district tells fox 29 this is the third firearm taken in a city school this am academic year. six guns were recovered last year. >> could have been a disaster. it could have been like the florida shooting. it's like spreading around. people just want to shoot up everybody and stuff. >> reporter: the boy will face two felony counts and could be tried as an adult. he's being held tonight in what could have been a horrible situation. but an x-ray machine picks off the gun. live at the fels high school. i'm jeff cole fox 29 news.

lucy. >> thank goodness that x-ray machine today. break news we go to port richmond right now. someone has found an off duty philadelphia police officer dead inside of a home. sky fox over the scene of the 2900 block of mercer street. the officer is a woman. along with her, a man found dead as well inside that home. this happened right around noon. investigators will not say who discover the bodies or how they died. this is all breaking. we have a crew headed to the scene right now. skyfox over head. a crew on the ground. more as the details come into fox 29 newsroom. >> search is on for whoever opened fire on two men in norristown last night killing both of them. police found the two shot again and again inside a car just past midnight on the 700 block of chain street. one of the men died at the scene. medic rush the other to einstein where he died a short time later. a developing story now. bill cosby's saw ensa has died. the 44-year-old passed on friday night in massachusetts from kidney disease.

a lack of access to sufficient quantities of nutritious affordable food. and so we started the pantry in the hope that we'd be able to support those students who are struggling with this. students who come in, they swipe their temple id but it all remains anonymous. when they come in they're ought matted granted 16 points. they can use the 16 points to select a variety of the food items that we have in the pant pantry. we've divide divided the items newspaper one point items which are side dishes, two-point items which are single meal items and three-point items which are multi meal items. items like cereal, bocks of cereal, boxes of pasta, et cetera. and so they can choose what they want, and check out and each student can visit once a week. >> that is awesome. so each week you can start with a clean slate of 16 points. you can bring each week your one reusable bag that they so nicely give you for the cherry pantry. i'm joined by a couple of

students here. you guys are also involved wor working here volunteering here. sarah, i undersand this is something -- this is only the beginning of a solution here on campus. can you talk little bit about what your overall greater mission is? >> yeah. overall mission is to make students feel that they are supported at temple university and that their bake needs are being met food security does not discriminate against age, race, gender, socio economic status so it reall really also encouragese core values of diversity as well as being able to give students the basic foundation and need so they can actually succeed they're not worrying about where the neck meal is coming from when they're in class. they focus on learning the material and content and going on to become temple graduates and finding place in the world. >> exactly. finding your place much it's not always easied to that. i can understand students might not want to come forward if they don't have access to food. they might feel embarrassed. we don't want them to feel shame. it's only been open week.

what have you guys been seeing so far in terms of the number of people who have come here for this need? >> great question. we've seen around three to five people come in every day it's early in the first week. one of the great things is that my friends and people that i know on campus have come up to me and asked what food pantry is and what the cherry pantry is about and it's really nice see that students and faculty and temple community nope this is on campus and this is something that is resource for students to come to. >> it is so awesome. how do we keep this going. we need donations. everything you see here on these shelves were given to us through donations. so if you or kind enough to donate to this mission you can stop by the student center right here on campus. on mondays what is it guys from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. >> thank you for sharing. >> we'll send it back to you guys. >> all right. thank you jennifer joyce. the flu is everywhere. but new numbers are in and the worst of it, man, could it actually be over?

our joyce evans went to wynnewood where she caught up with an emergency room doctor who is seen it all. >> definitely good news. >> reporter: attending physician dr. jeremy posner and emergency department breathing a little easier now that the flu nightmare appears to be leveling off. >> we saw a huge surge in cases the end of january and the first two weeks in february. but we're seeing that number mat tow. >> reporter: but he reminds us, although the cdc shows the number of deaths and new diagnoses of the flu are trending downward -- >> it doesn't mean it can't come back again but it's hopeful that things will continue on the down turn. >> reporter: there's plenty more flu season to go along with other illnesses mistaken for the flu if you're not tested. >> so people can have add din know virus which mimic the flu. a plane cold due to corona vir virus. rs have can mimic it as well. >> reporter: it's causing a crush of patients in the emergency department and trauma

dominating sports radio so they mission accomplished for them right there. students in montgomery county putting hockey skills to the test and they're not stopping for hours upon hours. it's all part of marathon to raise money for charity. our bill rohrer hung out with the excited eighth graders to learn why this annual tradition is so important to them. >> reporter: it is keith valley middle school annual flor hockey challenge for the last 42 years, eighth graders have been tearing up the gym floor with their hockey skills. >> i have looked forward to the keeping valley challenge since fifth grade i told my mom, mom, eighth grade only four more years or -- mom only two more years. mom, it's next week. mom, it's today. i cannot fall asleep last night. just thinking about. i had my outlet fit laying on the ground all the stuff i was going to wear a real fun experience. report it's hockey marathon of sorts. 32 teams will rotate and play until midnight.

philadelphia police officer and a man were found dead inside the house around noontime. police tell us the causes of death are not known right now police are active tiffly investigating. we know a 36-year-old philly police officer was at the house along with another person. we don't know exactly what had transpired here but a call in around noontime that, again, there were bodies discover at the home. and we can tell you that while authorities are piecing all of this together, neighbors told us that there was a fight of some kind reall really loud fight ine early morning hours few weeks ago outside that house but other than that, nothing ever abnormal. taking place there. police are investigating. we will stay on this and bring you the latest as we get it. back to you. >> all right, dave, thank you. another day another gun found at a school this time the gun was loaded and scoot wall right here in our area. not only was that gun loaded it was stolen. our jeff cole has more. >> reporter: with all the talk
