this afternoon in the northbound lanes of 95 near brooklyn bridge road. police tell us there were eight people in that vehicle and all are being treated at several different hospitals. and tonight, three people, they were thrown from the van at the time of the crash. authorities, they don't believe any of the injuries, though, they are life threatening. tonight, d. kráflt police are investigate -- d.c. police are investigating a shooting that happened in the 1600 block of 46th place in the neighborhood of southeast. one man suffered life threatening injuries in this. three others including the girl, they are expected to recover. and today, the district, they began recognizing same-sex marriages performed in other states. and the city council, they approved the idea earlier this year by a 12-1 vote. theyed could have blocked the measure, but they let the deadline pass. o penalties are still trying to get -- the opponents are still trying to get the new law overturned. >> one teen dead, another in critical condition after found

lying on the light rail train tracks. this happened baltimore county. the inspector discovered the teenager lying inside the tracks yesterday afternoon. both were taken to the hospital, and one died a short time later. mta is still investigating what happened and says they will inspect the underareas to look for any crews. investigators, they still don't know what sparked a massive fire over the weekend. two people, they died in the blaze. but as digital correspondent explains, staffing problems, as some area fire stations, they are rather at some area fire stations, they were not an issue in the department's response. >> and it had is a tragic fire that turned out a lot of firefighters. many of them, volunteers, filling the gap because of budget cuts here at prince george's county. center it was the 4th of -- it was the 4th of july and they had no idea that they were on fire until the collapse of this structure here and by then, it was too late. >> mark lemon came to see where

stkpwhráfrpblgts time now -- time now for a look at the markets. they are gaining more than 44 points, to close at 83.24. nasdaq didn't do as well, dipping down nearly 10 points to 17.87 and the s&p gained more than two points to close at 898 and to change. they can sell the bulk of their assets, allowing it to quickly emerge from bankruptcy protection. they say that this is in the

best interest of both gm and their creditors. gm, they are expected to sell several prompts as well as the -- properties as well as the hummer. now, some consumer groups have opposed the plans because it freezes the company from some of their liability from before bankruptcy. in the meantime, a hybrid battle could be brewing with the toyota prius in the far lead. they were the best selling car in japan last month and their rival, the honda insight ranked forth. now, prius sales in japan jumped 258% last month alone. way beyond the prius is the all-electric vehicle. in baltimore at the maryland science center, a company called alt car not only has the electric car, launching the first electric renting car and car fleeting in the country, taking a look at this span. >> reporter: could a little green bug be the future of the autoindustry? >> all electric, zero pollution,

that is where the front is and they are still moving further south ahead of it and a couple of the clouds moving up there. but all in all, quite the spectacular day. high temperatures tomorrow. mid-80s. that's a little below average for us. we're still looking at, well, very comfortable temperatures in the whole east coast. not really hot anywhere. i mean, raleigh, okay, that's not crazy hot. 85 in lexington, and pit pug going 67 in buffalo. that's more function of the clouds and some showers. and the same old system producing showers into courses of northern new england and that's why the temperatures are in the 60s again, once again in boston. the next seven days? 85 tomorrow, slight chance of a shower or storm. and again on wednesday, low 80s. then temperaturewise, we may be too high on thursday and friday. but it might be in the upper 70s again. just keep them around 80 right now. showers and a drizzle possible. then you go back to the july weather. we're in the low 90s on saturday and with some showers and storms possible, and better

mayor, they say that, well, he is confident that stalking charges, filed against barry by a former girlfriend will be dropped. at a news conference today, the attorney denies the allegations by donna white. investigators are still trying to figure out what sparked a massive fire over the weekend. two people dieded in the blaze. and it happenedded on wheeling avenue and upper marlbor orbs. rescue crews tried to get inside to save the victim, but the smoke and flames were too heavy. and a woman, she has now pleaded guilty to killing her 13-year-old adopted daughter. police say that she lied when shed toll them that her daughter had run away back in january. and an internal review found that several county social service employees, they did not follow proper procedures in response to abuse and me tkpwhrebt allegations -- neglect allegations about the child. president obama is in moscow with the first summit with the

to reclaim villages from the taliban control. and the insurgents, they are fighting back, launching suicide attacks claiming the lives of six service members. so far, more than three dozen insurgents have been killed in the fighting. center at least 140 people are dead in china's far west -f after a protest by members of the ethnic muslim group turned violent. they battled with police yesterday and now they are protesting, gathering in the city on the room key. and on sunday, to demand the investigation. and into a fight between them and for members of their ethnic group and ethnic chinese workers in a factory for them. that is for the outs of the presidents and all of them and they returned to the country yesterday. now, they needed to turn out there when the military, they blocked the runway. they are vowing to try again sometime this week. and thousands of the backwards area converge on the

operator, happening over the week. and yesterday's double monorail train collision is the park's first fatality in their 38 year history. no one else was hurt in the accident. and no one hurt in an immense overnight blaze at a meat packing plant near green bay, wisconsin. a school was burned into an more than shelter for -- into an emergency shelter for families filled with ammonia that could explode. they see the flames from as far as five miles away. now, they own that plant. it's an annual right of summer, made famous in the writing of the awe thur, ernest hemingway. they are talking about the bulls in spain. and they crowded into the main squared today to celebrate the beginning of the festival, which runs through july 14. now, the first bull run, takes place tomorrow. now to a patriotic symbol, the statue of liberty, going
