now, we all know we are in a recession, nonprofit and places like museums and zoos have been especially hard hit because charitable donations are down. well, a zoo in oregon has come up with a unique fundraising idea. it is working. take a look at this. for $20, visitors to this wildlife safari in oregon can have their car washed by the zoo's elephant. this is no joke. they scrub with sponges and will rinse your car with their trunk. the elephants love their new job and the car wash has brought in big bucks for the zoo. it has only been going on two weeks and they have already brought in $20,000. so, so far that unique fund- raising idea seems to be working and the elephants seem to love it. the other animal viral video that is hot on the web this morning has to do with lady bugs. i know you are probably thinking of lady bugs, how can

slayings of mother and daughters. detective nelson concluded the january murder of karen lofton and her 16-year-old daughter carissa and the march killing of delohr dewit and her daughter ebony were not connected just "weird coincidences. " however, police still have no suspects in either case. anne arundel county police are investigating the death of an elderly woman whose body was found in a freezer. police say the woman's grandson called them to the country club apartments on friday night in glen burnie. that's where the found the body of doris cook in a freezer. cook lived in the apartment with her two daughters and apparently died a few weeks ago. >> we don't know why and i'm not going to make a false statement because that would be ignorant on my part. they are still looking in to it and looking to find out what happened. >> reporter: at this point there's been no death determination made and there are no suspects at this time. >> reporter: authorities say cook suffered from a host of

medical conditions and had been bedridden for a long time. they believe she was dead before being put in the freezer but they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. six lawsuits related to last month's deadly metro rail crash have been filed against dc's cash-strapped metro rail system. nine people consider killed and 80 hurt in the accident. one of the lawsuits is seeking $25 million. legal analysts say total financial damages could stretch in to the hundreds of millions of dollars. virginia could receive almost $8.8 million to help fight the flu this fall. the u.s. department of health and human services says the money is part of $350 million allocated across the country. in virginia, $6.5 million will go to public health departments. the rest will go to hospitals and health care systems. dc health officials say three mosquito pools have

of the washington work place. who could have guessed that roughly 42 electronic parking meters along the main strip to the ocean could cause so much confusion and frustrating. the meter stopped processing credit cards. >> there's the problem. >> reporter: people walked away thinking the meter processed the cards only to learn when they returned that 45 -- 42- meters stopped working properly and the meter team had left a yellow envelope on the windshield with a heavy fine inside. >> i put a credit card in there, and i got a bunch of minutes up there. walked away and come back and within an hour i had a $30 ticket on there. >> here's my personal contribution to the rehoboth beach recently after i put my card in and thought i was covered, wrong, $30 ticket. >> a couple of weeks ago there
