logos from 109 to 121. approaching the split you are all right. north of the district, drivers are moving at speed and in virginia 66 remains delay free from gainesville to centreville and finally round it out with 95 northbound from the prince william parkway to the capital beltway. no incidents or accidents to report. now over to andrea. we are following breaking news out of western maryland. interstate 70 west of frederick, maryland is closed after a fatal helicopter crash. it happened near the frederick county and washington county line. four people were killed when the chopper crashed on to the median bringing down several power lines in the process. james hash has more. >> the helicopter crashed just before 10:30 on wednesday night striking the ground on i-70 near hagerstown, maryland.

all four occupants on board were killed. no motorists on the highway at the time of the crash were injured. amy crews were met with a grisly scene. >> we found at that point the helicopter was fully involved in fire. there was confirmation that four individuals did succumb to injuries as part of the collision. >> reporter: it is unclear if weather played a factor the crash but the area had experienced heavy storms and had isolated areas of fog. >> there was limited viable due to the moisture and fog in the area. especially around the upper levels of south mountain. >> reporter: investigators are trying to determine if the helicopter may have struck power lines nearby. a high-tension transmission line runs directly over the site and wires did fall on to the westbound lines of i-70 necessitating its closure as well. >> we're not sure either during the collision or as a result of the fire. we know there was some damage

witnessed what happened last night leave a comment at wusa9.com. a slow down in president obama's desire to create a government-funded health care system. the president will meet with both senate majority leader harry reid and max baucus. they are asking the president to ease off the summer deadline for health care overhaul. president obama called for quick action again in ohio. gates was arrested outside of his cambridge, massachusetts home last week. he was charged with disorderly conduct after a neighbor reported a break in at his home. it turns out it was just gates who was having trouble getting in through a jammed door. the charges were later dropped. on wednesday the president said the officers involved acted stupidly. a comment which drew strong reaction from the cambridge police department and the law

correspondent armando trull live at the scene with the latest. armando? >> good morning, angie. we will start with the go news. westbound i 70 is fully open. it had been eat exit 42. that's the meyersville green briar state park exit. that opened seven minutes ago and the last ten miles we gone from exit 42 to exit 32 traffic clear on i-70 westbound. the bad news is that you have got only one lane going in the eastbound direction on i-70 and right now the backup on i-70 eastbound are about a mile and a half long. that is the line of traffic that we saw on the other side of i-70 as we were driving by. so if you are heading in the eastbound direction on 70 you will be in for a very long drive at least during this part of the morning because backups from 30 to exit 33 on the

mile loop and started on the westbound side and went from exit 42 to exit 38 and traffic was flowing around 65 miles an hour westbound. then we looped around and went eastbound on i-70 heading to frederick and again all of the lanes were open eastbound. traffic again moving 60 to 65 miles an hour and so that's the good news. now you heard howard talking about dense patches of fog. you will hit some of those on both directions of i-70. hopefully that will clear up later in the morning but the good news is traffic is now flowing in both directions on i- 70 both eastbound and westbound. maryland state police and highwacrews are doing a great job of clearing up the debris from the helicopter crash as well as that downed power line. so you should have no problems heading eastbound or westbound on i-70 thisghorning if you are heading out right now. reporting live on i-70, i'm armando trull , back to you at the information center. >> thank you, armando.
